Branded is one of the more-newer additions to the Middleton Shopping Centre, but still has been…read morehere for over a year now, possibly even longer but compared to other stores such as Poundworld, Whsmith, Wilko and Middleton News, there time in this shopping mall is small, like the time humans have spent on Earth to the dinosaurs. This Branded store is a decent size, mainly selling Clothing and Sportswear, and really gives SportsDirect a run for its' money, and despite being smaller than the new SportsDirect store, it still is a nicer place to shop, with a small range of shoes and trainers in the window. They do sell a good range of Branded goods including Nike and Adidas, some clothes I have never seen before at other stores such as SportsDirect. Most items seem competitive pricing, this is a small store and is worth a look in if you're in the area, every now and then but the stock can change quite a lot, meaning sometimes there may be some nice stuff in, and sometimes there isn't. It is only quite a small store as well, so you can't expect much, but it is okay, although possible just on that line of average, maybe inches below, sadly it doesn't warrant anything over a high 2 star rating, other than 2 5, but I give two as I feel it is much fairer than a three, which Branded hasn't proved to warrant yet.

Middleton Shopping Centre is an old, run-down mall in the town centre of Middleton (a town in…read moreManchester), it's been becoming worse and worse every year now, to the point actually having to visit here feels like a chore. The set-up and management of the mall is terrible, after a certain time you have to buzz in to get in when only the gym and Health Center are open, and I've been made to wait outside in the cold and the rain ignored, the bell just doesn't seem to be monitored all the time, which meant I was late to a medical appointment... this is a regular occurrence which has been going on since way before COVID. Very few branded stores are left now, there are stores from Wilko, Boots, EE and WHSmith (which includes a Post Office) and a Costa Coffee, many of which are brands which seem to be in 99% of towns anyway. The interior is boring and dated, it feels like it hasn't been improved in years, the whole vibe is depressing of a mall which was once OK which has fallen and continues to do so. It isn't even worth visiting as a Middleton resident, let alone from further afront. A real shame. 1*

The clothes are all really pretty and nice and shiny and colourful and the girls look nice with them on. Also, its much cheaper than most of the places for clothes in Rusholme. This and the nearby Shagun seem to me to be the TK-Max of Rusholme fashion, by which I mean that they sell the same clothes, but arrange them in a disorderly fashion and cut the prices drastically. Can't work out why they do this, or why people still buy the same clothes from the more expensive shops. Any ideas?

Not that I have no faith in those 50+ daredevils, but it is unfair to deny that younger generations have nothing to bring home from PE. The linen dress in question was purchased in Phase Eight's boutique in King St, and I have enjoyed my visit. I thought that the floor was planned rather nicely, while the fitting rooms are located on the podium. No matter how popular this boutique is, with such space planning there is no chance customers can feel crowded. Phase Eight is by no means cheap, but it finds a good balance between price and quality. I would definitely buy clothes there, although I am not so sure about either footwear or accessories. Not that they are bad, but they don't have the kind of edge I am looking for.
