I purchased a ring online that turned out to be a too big for me. I took it into Argentum to have it re-sized. They said they would do their best but obviously the repair was going to show. I decided to let them try and when I got the ring back, the work they did had actually IMPROVED the look of the ring. They worked the repair into it in such a way that it added to the pattern of the ring instead of looking like someone took a hack-saw to it (which I'm guessing they did). The repair was also very reasonably priced. Also, years ago, I purchased my wedding band from them. I have been thoroughly satisfied every time I've worked with them. Professional, family oriented, non-commission-based service. We had very limited time and budget to get two wedding bands. While there were plenty of expensive options, we were still treated with respect and felt very welcome and valued on a lower budget. Sales staff were very knowledgable and just seemed to know what we would like when we had no idea. We loved their suggestions. One band was in the store, but my size had to be ordered. My fiancé and I went to several jewelry stores in Bloomington looking for an engagement ring. Argentum was the first and last place we looked. The vibe there is very relaxed and they don't pressure you about anything. It is family owned and operated which meant we only dealt with two salespeople; a mother and daughter. We went back several times to iron out details and were treated with such friendliness and respect each time. They were able to get the ring finished in time for New Years Eve and went to lengths to make sure it would be. Over the top customer service! I purchased a ring 3 years ago and one of the diamonds fell out. I don't live in Indiana, but on a recent visit, I decided to stop in and see if they could do anything for me. After 3 years I expected to be told, "Sorry, we can't help", but surprisingly the staff member said, "Let me clean it up for you and take a look." First, a free cleaning-how nice. When she returned, I was surprised they admitted there was an issue with the setting for that diamond and would replace the diamond free of charge. As I mentioned, I live out-of-state and they not only were willing to replace the diamond, but ship it to me insured, all on their dime. They also called me to let me know when the ring was fixed and about to ship to me so I could look out for it. The fix and the delivery back to me was expeditious. Argentum also distinguishes themselves from other jewelers. You will find unique, beautiful jewelry and every time I visit, I find multiple items I'd love to purchase. I hate to say what a disappointment this shop was when I went to look at a jewelry line they carry from Hawaii Titanium Rings. I made a phone call and was told this company could send a sample ring for me to look at since they didn't carry any woman's rings at the store. When I arrived at the store the salesperson didn't really want to help us and my husband and I left our phone number, never to hear from anyone. I ended up ordering the ring online. I'm surprised more people haven't written rave reviews of this store. I worked at Argentum when I was in college and it was a wonderful experience. Granted that was 20 years or so ago, so I probably don't know any of the people who work there now. I was just looking at a silver Ed Levin ring I bought there way back then and thinking of that time. The owner Sally is great. She taught me a lot about jewelry and gems so I could better help customers even though I was just a college kid. To this day, this was my favorite job of all time.
