Second visit here, and it's a great spot for a relaxed afternoon with the family…read more Headlands is right near the Pleasant Hill BART station, so it's an easy walk if you're coming by train. If you're driving, there's a parking lot shared with the neighboring office buildings, and this is the one downer: it isn't free. The lot runs on Metropolis Parking, so you'll need to create an account since it's automated and tracks your license plate. Scan the QR code at the register to validate one free hour. Otherwise it's $2.50 an hour plus a $1.50 service fee. We stayed 1 hour and 44 minutes and paid $4 after the complementary hour, so it's not terrible, just a hassle to set up. The ambiance is my favorite part. It's entirely outdoors, but there's plenty of shade. We went on a Sunday with football on, and once the Niners game started they put it on all the TVs and turned the game audio on too. The space is split into three distinct areas: an adults-only deck that's slightly elevated, a family and kids section along the outer fence, and a main middle area open to everyone. It's family and dog friendly, and both times we've visited there have been lots of kids, so keep that in mind if you want a more adult environment. Since it's strictly outdoors, a rainy or cold day could be a tough time to visit, but when the weather is nice it's a great place to grab a beer, a bite, and some sports. Ordering is flexible. You can order at the main counter, or scan the unique QR code at your table, order from your phone, and they'll bring everything right to you. My wife and I each had a different hazy IPA and both were good, and the overall beer selection is nice. On the food side, the burgers are above average but not spectacular. The fries were the better side: crispy and well seasoned with a spice blend. The Oreo and brownie cheesecake was a hit, and my wife and son devoured it. Prices are reasonable for the area, and the food and beer both hold up for what you pay. Overall, it's a fun, laid-back spot for families, dog owners, and sports fans, with a great setup. Just plan for the parking process.

I just don't like ordering using a QR code instead of a real person. I like to ask my questions…read moreregarding menu to a face. And don't like requesting water through the app. Food was good and people when they present your food were very nice too.

Excellent brewery that is family friendly and has both indoor and outdoor seating…read more The food was really good even with no fryer, there are plenty of options. The ambiance was what you would want in a brewery. Very chill, fun and friendly vibes. There are TVs in the indoor area and lots of space outside. There was a wide range of beers options and a good crowd mix of people. I was happy I was able to visit here and look forward to coming back again!

Pros - Friendly cashier, good assortment of beer and ciders, dog-friendly…read more Neutral - Loud music outside. Cons - No employee approached a male dog owner over his pit bull excessively howling / yelping over another dog. A couple yelps, fine. It kept going, it was loud, the silver-haired Boomer was taking his sweet time to ( not ) control his dog with respect to other people in the patio area. So, dogs are preferred over people, no one on staff to politely ask the man to control the dog immediately? One more thing: the barking was such a nuisance that I and another customer were looking back at the owner to see if he was taking care of it, the customer quipped about the dog going to be attacking him, if anything, I joked that I'd be fine, he then suddenly held up the numbered signage for his order ( w/ metal stand ) saying he was going to hit me with it. ( No light-hearted tone, moreso irritated and aggressive. ) And this is how suddenly bad things happen, how a customer spews out a verbal threat ( technically criminal assault ), linked to an out-of-control situation with a pet owner and his dog and a restaurant that won't do anything about it. Simple Solution: Train employees ( or remind them ) to assertively and cordially request owners to keep their dogs peaceful and quiet. Otherwise, it's sweeping a problem under the rug. Not smart nor respectful of other customers. Being Fair: If you like the energy of a loud restaurant, whether it's music and/or dogs barking, then you should be fine, drinks and all. If you love dogs, yet want them responsibly controlled in an environment where you seek to maintain an actual meaningful conversation, this establishment is a roll of the dice.

We were greeted with water (still or sparkling). Even though I am not vegan, I really appreciated the vegan menu. I tend to gravitate towards vegan options because I do not eat most dairy products. I ended up ordering the Vegan Pumpkin Risotto with Grilled King Salmon. In the photo, it looks like a grilled drumstick but I promise it's salmon haha! Everything was delicious. I was especially intrigued by this dish because it uses vegan Parmesan cheese. My coworkers asked if I could taste the difference, but honestly, I don't even know what actual Parmesan cheese taste like LOL The salmon was delicious!! I highly recommend giving it a try. Overall, vibes were great and it was a lovely spot to enjoy lunch with coworkers. They brought out a dessert menu afterward, but we didn't order any. I kinda wish I did though. The coconut sorbet with roasted coconut flakes caught my eye so I'll definitely have to come back to try!

However, they do save tables for walk-ins in case you don't have a reservation. We got lucky and were able to get a patio table so we could sit with our dog. The staff is very friendly and accommodating for gluten-free diners. We had the chicken wings to start they were tangy and perfectly crunchy. A little messy, but we were given hand wipes upon request. Next up, we ordered that tostadas with tuna, the prosciutto and burrata appetizers for entrées along with the pork sandwich. So happy to see the tostadas with the tuna back on the menu. They were delicious. The pork sandwich was large with crunchy salty chips to go with it the prosciutto and burrata cheese with pears and balsamic was packed with flavor of sweet, salty and creamy. Definitely enough for two people to share for an appetizer or an entrée for one person. I was only able to eat half of it since we had an appetizer to start. We were there for a birthday and were given a delicious caramel dessert with the cookie on the side for the gluten-free birthday person. It's no wonder this spot is a local favorite!

Plenty of espresso drinks, freshly brewed coffee with cheap refills, and a pastry case that always has something worth grabbing. The breakfast menu holds up too. Avocado smash on sourdough and the farm fresh egg sandwich are both solid picks if you want more than a pastry. The space is the real draw. Indoor seating if you want quiet, plus a big covered patio out back with string lights, wine barrel tables, and heaters for the colder months. It's a pleasant place to sit and talk without feeling rushed. A few tips if you're heading over: get there early for the best seats, and street parking out front is free until 10am. After that you're hunting. Kitchen closes at 2pm, so plan accordingly. I've only ever come for the morning routine, but they've got a full bar with craft cocktails, draft beer from local breweries like Fieldwork and Altamont, and wine by the glass. The evening side is on my list. If you live in the area and don't have a regular coffee spot yet, make this it.

The inside of the café is magnificent, but since it was such a beautiful day, we chose to sit outside, which was just amazing. The seating was very comfortable, and our food was brought out promptly. It was a beautiful night and though it was packed, we were seated quickly on the outside patio and service was fast and friendly all night - the poor servers worked hard to not only address the crowd but dodge the many, many kids running about like hoodlums while mommy and daddy drink themselves into blissful oblivion!! Enjoyed a flight of their IPAs and a few dishes - their chips and guac which I always enjoy, heirloom tomato salad and fish tacos ! All really good!! The service was friendly and super quick--our entire order came out just minutes after ordering via QR code. My favorite item was the Brewery Platter, a beautifully-presented sampler of German-inspired appetizers, including three warm pretzels, candied bacon, bratwurst, crispy potato pancakes, and candied pepitas, along with spicy mustard, curry ketchup, beer cheese, and pickles. My favorite part of this platter was the warm, chewy pretzels eaten along with the thick, creamy beer cheese, but everything was delicious in its own way! Another highlight was the curry ketchup, which had such a unique combination of tomato flavor with spices. For our mains, the Heirloom Tomato Salad came with mixed greens, feta, and heirloom & cherry tomatoes, along with a balsamic dressing. We also added a Wagyu Beef Patty, which was nicely grilled but on the dry side. The Fried Chicken Sandwich came with a breaded chicken breast, citrus slaw, red onion marmalade, and sauce on a soft bun; and the Fried Fish Sandwich was a similar creation but made with beer battered rock cod. The mains were decent though nothing spectacular. Overall, however, this was a nice, casual brewery for its calm, shaded atmosphere and tasty eats.
