Newer resident of the Hill in STL, and discovered this gem that is conveniently located on my drive home from work. I never expected exceptional service at a liquor store, but the man that helped me was so polite and accommodating. I asked about a certain brand of tequila, which he helped me find in store, but graciously informed me that he would be happy to get any type of brand or liquor I would like to purchase, available at his store. He proceeded to let me know of their hours as well, which are very convenient in my opinion. My new booze shop for sure. read more

Terrible Customer Service I came in to do a job. I was sending photos to my boss. Have a badge that I'm allowed to be there and take photos and the male gentlemen working with the accent was very hostile. Turn the lights off saying I couldn't take pictures even though I had permission to be there was very aggressive towards me. read more

Arena Liquor - Turned lights off - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Saint Louis, Missouri

This is a very convenient spot for me to grab some liquor or liqueurs as is very close to me. I originally got hooked on this spot because it is the only spot in St. Louis I have found with Green Charteuse. The past few times I have been it has been out of stock--not surprising, nobody can get their hands on it. They do have a good bourbon and gin selection. The agave section seems pretty light. Hardly any mezcal and very limited on the tequilas (specifically additive free tequilas). They have a decent selection of liqueurs, and they do carry Chinola which is nice as not everywhere carries that around here. You can get all of your necessary liqueurs for your basic cocktails (including, but not limited to: Luxardo, Cointreau, Chambord, Big O), to name a few). The prices appear to be pretty competitive. I am not much of wine or beer drinker, but both of those selections appear to be pretty extensive given the size of the store. read more

This place was fine- they had a large selection but I felt like their pricing was not the most competitive. If I needed specialty liquor I would come here, otherwise I'm sticking to a grocery store. read more

My go-to neighborhood liquor store! They have lots of options, with everything from airplane bottles and alcohol novelties to wine to high end bourbon and craft beer. You will always find something you like. The staff there is pretty friendly, but most are "straight to business", so don't expect too much small talk and chatter. This is a place for people who know what they want. They will order it for you if they don't have it and they know where everything in the store can be found. Well-lit and open late (til midnight during the week and til 1am on the weekends), so they will definitely help you keep the party going. read more

Went back in a couple months ago and one of the guys recognized me and said something along the lines of "Hey man, I think you were in here a couple years back and we weren't on top of everything like we are now. I wanted to apologize and appreciate you coming back in" I appreciate him mentioning it as well as making up for it - covered my purchase that day. Their beer selection has grown since then and they have a huge walk-in. I've been back and they've been great. read more

I went there to purchase my regular bottle I found myself getting sexually assaulted by the clerk there . He was darkskin and short hair . He tried to grab my breasts and I backed away quickly . Long story short do not go here . It doesn't matter if you're a female wearing a bikini going into the store no one has the right to touch you. He literally reached over the counter as I was trying to pay for my bottle and tried to touch me . I'm leaving this comment for anyone that goes there and reads on yelp . Please be aware . read more

This place is not too far from where I live so I stop by there for my wine and beer choices. I would go here over the gas stations because they have more choices and prices are better BUT I would go to Randell's before going here, and it's not too much further. The staff is always friendly and helpful as well. I also only go in here during the day time because sometimes at night especially if I am alone, I feel it is a little scary for me. All and all, I will still be stopping in here for my beverage needs throughout the years. read more

The past two times I've been, they've been more than happy to provide service to people without masks. I mostly visit out of convenience but I'm happy to go slightly out of my way to visit a plethora of local liquor stores that have similar, if not better, selection while caring about customer safety and following the law. But if you're an anti masker, definitely stop in. They'd love to have you! read more

Oh, Arena Liquor, you are always there when I don't want to go out and pay bar prices or wear anything other than sweatpants. And you have so many choices for me to play "just pick the prettiest bottle or box" with. I am so glad you are so close to my house. It isn't very big, but the selection is surprisingly good and the staff is friendly. There is always something that catches your eye when you are going to pick up whatever it was that you came for and the prices are pretty reasonable so getting both is probably a good idea. I am the biggest fan of all the tiny airplane bottles by the register. I like that you can try something and not have a bunch left if it turns out to be disgusting. I also love them because they are the perfect amount for the baking that I do that requires something that I would never normally purchase. Next time you are in the area, or just want to play alcohol roulette, don't forget to stop in! read more

Arena is one of my favorite liquor stores - primarily due to proximity, but they also have a nice selection of micro brews as well as imports. They also have a vast array of wine and liquor for those of you who are not beer/ale/lager lovers. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable as well. As Jaffa noted, the store is also open on days that 'traditional' stores are often closed (i.e. holidays such as Thanksgiving, Xmas, etc etc etc) This will remain my home base for all drinking needs as long as I reside in Dogtown! read more

Located on Hampton about 1/2-way between 44 and 64/40, this is a pretty decent little liquor store. The sign boasts a large selection of beer and 300 vodkas. I like that they carry premium vodka brands, such as Belvedere and Chopin, but don't like that they don't carry any Asian beers and just a couple Mexican ones. On a side note, they did have a decent selection of bottled ciders though. Behind the counter, they have a large selection of the smaller non-standard sizes of several popular brands and flavors. read more

I haven't been in this Arena liquor store in a while. Now, I know why there are no vehicles on the lot. I purchased a 12 pk of Busch Light bottles. As I put the 12 pk in my ice box when I got home, then I noticed that the beer had expired on May 23 2022. Today is May 30 2022. A week pass the expiration date!! I see from other reviews on Yelp, they seem to have a habit of selling expired liquor. All I can say is "BUYER BEWARE". read more

Yeah. My first liquor store review. This place is fast, convenient (on Hampton and Highway 40) and feels safe compared to other liquor stores in the city. Especially the sign that says "do not back in to park" out front. Covering your bases makes for a fun and safe liquor-run experience. A few years back, I remembering ordering kegs of beer for parties, and I'm sure they still offer that option. There's a wide selection of liquor and beer there as well, but low on the wine selection. That's OK. They don't want to put on any heirs or anything like that. Cheers to Arena Liquor for supplying Dogtown-area party animals! read more

It's poker night, I'm running late and the weather is not cooperating. Just left my house in Franz Park and...$*%# left the bottle of Bacardi back at the house! Needless to say I hung a quick left on to Hampton and pulled in to Arena Liquor's parking lot. They recently updated the front of the building and put in a lighted sign near the Subway. The place is open on Holidays so if you're coming from or heading to that family function and need a little something to get you through the rest of the day or night this is definitely the place to stop. They have an OK wine selection. I only say OK because the variety wasn't the greatest from the big name brands of wine (Gallo, Little Penguin, Turning Leaf, etc). Maybe I'm just being a bit of a wine snob but I was really hoping to find some Red Truck brand wine here. One of the coolers towards the back you can actually walk into and grab whatever cold beer you need as well which is nice, just make sure the door stays closed when you leave. Not only that but they do rent kegs so if you are planning a huge St. Patrick's Day party, I'd highly recommend them if you live in or around the neighborhood. All-in-all, a great place and definitely a one stop shop for beer, wine and liquor. read more

I really like this liquor store! They have whatever I'm looking for whenever I'm looking for it! From flavored vodka like 360° Butter Popcorn Vodka to a fruity beer like Redd's Strawberry Ale, they have what you won't find just anywhere! Go take a browse, you won't leave empty handed. read more

Arena Liquor - Limited Edition Mike's Harder - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Saint Louis, Missouri

Not sure how I made it through college without going to this place. I was back in St. Louis this weekend and was looking for Andre sparkling wine -- it had to be Andre, and I had to be able to get a variety of flavors. I tried Schnucks first to no avail, they had the Brut and Extra Dry, but the Peach Passion and Strawberry were nowhere to be found! After trying another liquor store, Arena was recommended for it's wide array of products. We drove over and were not disappointed! We were able to get six different varieties of Andre for the excellent price of $5 a bottle (they should advertise this fact and just watch the crowds roll in). We also picked up some liquor and bottles of soda for very reasonable prices. While I don't live in the area, I will be back whenever life takes me back to the Lou. read more

Relatively small place but it has most of what you'd want from the liquor store. Didn't seem to have any experts who could really give you much service. If you know what you're looking for, you could find a bottle or two for cheaper than the competition. Not much else to bring me back. read more

Stopped in on evening to grab a quick last minute gift, there was a large selection of bottled beer liquor, while most was not refrigerated there was still a large selection of cold beer available for those to want a beer when they get home. Prices seemed reasonable, however Randall's prices were more competitive. Staff was ok, nothing to brag about. read more

This place is decent. They have nice options but don't plan on finding a deal like most other liquor stores. The bourbon prices are identical to going to dierbergs or schnucks. Starrs is not too far with a little better pricing but not much. read more

I used to go to Arena Liquor all the time. The staff was generally friendly and the selection was great. After my last experience, however, I will NEVER go back. I will drive to Randall's instead. I have purchased a few kegs over the years from them and recently got one for a 30th birthday party at my house. When we got the keg back to the house and tried to tap it, the tap wouldn't work. It was defective. Luckily, a friend lived close by and lent us his tap at the last minute as guests were already arriving. When we went to return the tap, they refused to refund the tap rental fee AND they charged us for the price to buy the tap because they said they "check" all of their equipment before they rent it out and there is no way it was defective. The woman who I worked with was nothing but rude and was unwilling to work with us in any way. Evidently, they don't care about customer retention because I was livid. As a regular customer, I would have thought that they would give us the benefit of the doubt. I even explained to this woman that I had 2 more kegs to rent for a fundraise the following week and if she was unwilling to refund the tap rental and tap purchase price, I would be going elsewher for the fundraise and for all beer, liquor, and keg purchases in the future. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING AND RUDE STAFF read more

Decent choice of beers. Great selection of spirits and easily found in the area. I will come back next time I'm in St. Louis.

Nice store with very nice employees. Seemed a little sketchy at first from the outside looking in. Pleasantly surprised when I walked in.

I love this place! Everyone is so nice who works there, the selection is great, and the prices even better! What more could you ask for??

One of the only places I buy my beer. Excellent, excellent craft beer, import and domestic selection. Excellent wine and liquor selection too. If it's distributed in Missouri, Arena liquor will likely have it. Clean, well-lit, safe, fast, competitively priced and almost always open. Staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I have been buying beer here for nearly 15 years and hope to for the next 15! read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. I went to the gas station across the street and found the same bottle for 2 dollars less and ironically their customer service was 10x better. They at least say 'thank you.' Arena Liquor shoves people along like an assembly line because all they really care about is making money-not customer service. Employee's at this store were very rude and use profanity. Walked into store and older caucasian gentleman with glasses and slicked back hair was talking about 'giraffe p****.' I made a simple purchase: a mixer and one bottle. They gave me a bag with a tear in the bottom. I called the store to explain they gave me a bag that tore after second carry and all my stuff broke on the ground, and they hung up on me. They will not take responsibility for anything. Funny how a working professional can't even get respect in the store. I drove all the way back to the store to explain in person (within 5 minutes) and they still wouldn't budge-all for a 15 dollar bottle. Imagine if it was a 50 dollar bottle and how upset you would be, and believe me this could happen to anyone.. Bottom line is-Like I would waste time out of my day arguing over a tear in a bag which caused the broken bottle if it wasn't true-they claim it was self-induced. I was treated like dirt with patronizing, asinine, condescending, and disrespectful comments like 'oh did the bag break on your first carry? Well what does that tell you then stupid? *PROFANITY* Well in my 15 years of being in the liquor business a bag has never broken with what you had in it. That's impossible. Once the bottle leaves the store we are not responsible.' Well- maybe you should be responsible for giving crappy bags that break, and not treat people like dirt Arena Liquor. Don't think this could happen to you? Think again. The least this guy could have done is given me a second bottle for 50% off but it just goes to show how stingy they are and really don't give a rip about keeping their customers! **Make sure you get your stuff double bagged or get paper bags instead. They got a huge selection but incompetent employee's who are very rude or speak very poor English. So don't expect to get any help or respect from anyone. Employee who bagged my stuff had no clue what was going on either and referred me to someone else. Be warned! read more

So,I called at 4:47pm today to ask what the cost of a half gallon of Svedka would be and the person who answered said I don't no. The phone fell silent and I asked again and he said "I don't know I am with customers and said I can't help you." So I hung up. You would think that as local store you would want my business. I live up the street from them. I guess I will spend a little less and drive to Randall's. Just didn't want to drive that far. Shame on Randall's. read more

As a professional working mostly in the downtown area, I was very disappointed with my experience. Staff was extremely rude. Not sure if it was his old age, but he did not seem to want to be there. He was unwilling to assist in suggestions, and gave the feeling that he would rather be somewhere else. I would suggest driving a little further down the road to Randall's as this place was not what I was looking for. read more

Arena has a fantastic selection and frequently has hard to find items. I was just able to get a bottle of Buffalo Trace Antique Collection from Arena and they provided tasting notes as well. If you are trying to find good deals on easy to find or hard to find liquor, it is hard to beat Arena. And, the people are knowledgeable and friendly which is hard to say at other St. Louis stores. read more
