For the amount of colour they incorporate in their decor and menu, it's certainly not reflected in their cocktails - Would love to see them expand their mocktail menu

The space has this underground, hidden-away feeling, and all the comic-style, collectible card-inspired decor and menus are incredibly cool. There are so many little details that add to the experience. The service was excellent. They seated us right away, and the drinks were thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented, and delicious. I especially loved the way each cocktail was brought out and explained, down to the ingredients and details. It almost had that fine-dining level of presentation and attention, but with cocktails. The combination of the atmosphere, creative drinks, and great service made the whole experience feel unique. Definitely a great date spot and somewhere I would absolutely come back to.

Picture this - you walk into a tropical oasis and have the option of cocktails from Jaguar sun, wine selections from Bad Seed - a new wine bar pop up from Karina and the folks at Niu Wine -, rotating food from some of Miami's most loved chefs and last but not least - MUSIC! You'd think these folks just took your best friends magical back yard and created the most fun party in their house, but instead its at Understory and you can enjoy this oasis weekly on Thursday's and Fridays. I went for the first time last Thursday where I got to try a rum punch but with Mezcal that was delish. Then I moved on to a selection of delish wines and pizza by Flour and Weirdoughs. To say the vibe is impeccable is an understatement. I happily stayed until they closed at midnight, passing the time hanging out with friends and listening to the most fire playlist. They also have live jazz that starts at 9, which you can't really hear from the wine bar area since the space is so large, and DJs later in the evening as well as Friday. You can enjoy free entry before 8:30 pm. The best way to stay up to date on their weekly pop ups is to follow them on IG at @Understorymia. Can't wait to return!

The Citadel is a food hall that really gets it right. They have amazing vendors where locals want to eat at, a great bar, strong wifi, and easy parking. No matter the time of day you visit - you can certainly find something you'd like here. My favorites are Vice City Bean for coffee, Maki-San for sushi and of course USBS for burgers. There are plenty of tables to dine at, and you can definitely post up there to work or catch up with a friend. My favorite hack is to roll up in the early afternoon, because happy hour starts at 4 pm and the wines are $6 and they have bites on the menu that start at $5. My go-to is a glass of white wine and two hand rolls for around $15 - total steal! Service has always been friendly no matter the vendor I visit and I love the community vibe. If you want to shop, they have some cool local stores there too. And for those with a sweet tooth, there is scandy candy in one of the shops. There is parking in the back lot that usually is not full but if it is there is also metered street parking.

I had a lychee martini which was very tasty and the fresh lychee garnish was fantastic. The food taste really varies, depending on where you order from and the dish you get. We tried the vodka sauce rigatoni, which was delicious, but the carbonara was very underwhelming. Our server upstairs in the rooftop was friendly and attentive, but we did have to chase after him a bit to get the check towards the end.

A large group of us gathered here for dinner and late-night drinks on a Friday night. This is a fun, happening spot. It's ideal if you're looking for a casual, laid-back night out in Miami. The rooftop can handle a lot of people. My wife and I ordered food downstairs at Manjay, the Caribbean/Haitian stall at the food court, and took it up to the rooftop (there's an elevator). You are allowed to do this at the Citadel (take food from the food court up to the roof). Staff on the rooftop will bus trays and tableware. I recommend Manjay, by the way, and left a review for it separately here on Yelp. On the rooftop, I had a couple of martinis, one extra dirty. They were well made and delicious. Our friends had a variety of drinks including beer (e.g., Monopolio Mexican amber lager). Pint glasses were served iced over which is certainly nice in the South Florida heat. Service was good. The staff was nice. Several of the chairs had holes in the seats, so that was annoying. The vibe was lively and friendly. Good music.

The drinks I will say weren't my favorite and I didn't eat any food.

It was giving either Sottovoce or Magie vibes if you've been to any of those. The jazz music was outside and it was really hot. So I ordered a cocktail by the name of Pampa y la Via that was both refreshing and delicious but lacking a punch unfortunately. I then just decided to drink a few glasses of white wine which is my go to anyway. Got a little hungry but didn't want to eat heavy. Wanted more like to munch on something so I ordered the aperitivo plate consisting of stuffed pizza bites, one with peppers and one pepperoni. Reminded me of Annie's pizza poppers but obviously elevated. From trying that small app I gathered that pizza is one of their specialties so I'll be coming back to test that theory. The waitstaff is very attentive and welcoming. Outside area is very dim lit and kinda romantic and intimate if you ask me so it would be perfect for a date too. It also carries a lot of Italian products, for instance, I found apple cookies here that I hadn't been able to find anywhere else. Service was good, though no one ever came by to clear the plates from the table, which matters to me since I like to linger and chat after the meal, and having all the dishes piled up in the middle isn't very comfortable. It's self-service, but they're still supposed to come by and clear the table. 100% recommended!

The restaurant is conveniently located right on the downtown strip with free street parking nearby, which is always a plus. The atmosphere was inviting from the moment we walked in. The host welcomed us and told us we could sit anywhere we liked, so we chose a quieter table away from the bar area. There is also a stage section that looked perfect for live music nights, although there was no entertainment during our visit. Overall, the ambiance was trendy, relaxed, and had a great neighborhood feel. They also appeared to have some very good happy hour specials for those who drink. Our server was very sweet and offered several recommendations. We decided to share the burrata appetizer and the skirt steak dinner. The steak arrived first and looked absolutely beautiful. The quality of the meat itself was outstanding and cooked very well. Unfortunately, there was a noticeable charred flavor from what seemed like a dirty grill, which took away from an otherwise excellent steak. It was disappointing because the quality of the meat was truly superb. The fries were also surprisingly good and almost tasted closer to sweet potato fries. At that point, we realized our burrata appetizer had been forgotten. Once we flagged down our server, she immediately corrected the mistake and brought it out quickly. Thankfully, it was absolutely delicious and ended up being one of the highlights of the meal. The fresh burrata paired perfectly with the heirloom tomatoes and tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. Toward the end of dinner, service became difficult again. We were ready for more water, a box, and the check, but our server was nowhere to be found despite the restaurant not being particularly busy since it was still early in the evening. I eventually had to get up and ask the bartender for assistance. Overall, I really enjoyed the ambiance and appreciated the quality of the food. There were definitely some service inconsistencies, but the restaurant has a lot of potential and several dishes that stood out.
