My husband and I we fortunate enough to find this location on B&B Ireland. We only stayed one night…read moredue to our itinerary but it was a day and night to be remembered. The view from the property is unbelievable. The hosts are the most kind and gracious people. We we're traveling using public transport only and Susan and Desmond were so helpful, looking up schedules, locating the best boarding spots, and even going to far as to give us a lift into Waterford to further verify our transportation options. Our room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Ireland. Susan even makes her own vegan sausage. if you ever find yourself in Irelands southeast coast, you should go out of your way to stay at Samuel's Heritage. You won't regret it.

We flew into Dublin, spent a few…read morenights in Kilkenny, then bounced around most of the country for the rest of the week, staying in B&B's most of the way (save two nights in a hotel in Kilkenny). This was our first B and B experience ever, and the first of four on this trip. First, let me just say that the Samuels Heritage is beautiful. Their location, the views, the home itself, are all amazing. The place is VERY well kept, clean and perfectly appointed. Our room included a double and twin beds, a great bathroom, and was very nicely decorated and presented. Susan met us upon arrival, and other than my own lack of understanding of B and B's, was extremely helpful. Breakfast was great the next morning, and given our "quite compressed" timelines, we didn't have too much time to linger around and stay. We have full Irish breakfast, lots of cereal and fruit options, GREAT Coffee and tea, and just excellent service all in all. Susan goes a long way to make every effort and consideration, and we hope to be back again someday - - and I really can't say enough about the location and facility itself. The first, and quite easily the best stay of our trip!

Once settled her restaurant, pub and sightseeing tips were first rate. Bed was very comfortable and house was quiet (although we were travelling during the off season). Having your own bathroom and shower is great as well. The breakfasts were top notch and ample, a light lunch at most was needed between breakfast and dinner. Central location also makes it attractive to those who like their amenities close by. Should we ever get back to Cork we would return here to stay.

Upon arriving, Olive was warm, welcoming, and took care of us with a pot of tea and chocolates and a friendly disposition that made us feel as if we were her old friends just popping by for a visit rather than strangers meeting for the first time. She had plenty of stories to share and wisdom on where to go and what to see while in Cork (and the appropriate maps to guide us in the right direction). Our room was cozy with a reasonably sized bathroom (by Irish standards) and a sweeping view over the city. The breakfast was prompt and piping hot - my husband raved about the black and white pudding, while I stuck to scrambled eggs, beans, and toast. Plus, the B&B is located a comfortable walking distance from the bus terminal and train station. I'd recommend Auburn House to any out of town visitors looking for the full B&B experience.

I have stayed in a great number of B&B guesthouses in Ireland, but I remember St Anthonys in…read moreDungarvan the most favourably. Dungarvan or Dún Garbhán is in Co. Waterford is in the 'Sunny SouthEast', 48km east of Waterford city. It commands Dungarvan Bay and is overlooked by the Comeragh Mountains. St Anthonys guesthouse is no more than 10mins walk from the centre of Dungarvan, which is a very attractive coastal town. There were 5 of us staying here for 4 days, one woman, who had, (naturally), a double to herself, with us four blokes, in 2 rooms with twin beds. All of these rooms were really nice centrally heated, bright & airy rooms, with en-suite bathrooms, (fabulous easy to use power shower in the twin rooms, nice bath as well as the shower in the double). For a caffeine addict like me there was a more than generous selection of tea, coffee & biscuits, in the rooms! Also tv with good reception, which wasn't always the case in other places we stayed, & my laptop easily found a Wi Fi connection, and kept it. Kay, the landlady was so friendly, and genuinely lovely, and couldn't do enough for us. I think the breakfast was not just the nicest cooked breakfast I 'd had in Ireland, but in any hotel or B&B I've ever stayed in! I'm vegetarian, and instead of gazing at me in alien puzzlement, as often I get, she effortlessly whipped up a gorgeous tomato omelette the first morning, and then went out shopping especially to buy quorn sausages the next. My friends, who are all of the more carnivorous persuasion, were greatly impressed with her generous full works Irish breakfast I can tell you, and Jo, our superior sole female was even catered for when she got out of bed at 10.30 one morning! There are excellent laundry facilities in the guesthouse, and here again Kay was fantastic, as beyond the call of duty for her, she did laundry for us not just once but twice in the 4 days we stayed. Don't ask me to do the maths, but It worked out as an incredibly reasonable rate, us 5 staying & sharing, our boss so to speak who is both careful & cash-strapped was well pleased. Also because all the rooms are generous sized, we didn't once feel cramped or in each others pockets. I bought Kay a nice box of chocolates when we left, in gratitude for her being so fabulous, and making us feel not like guests but as family members.
