It's never easy finding a pace to stop on a road trip, but this place has it all. Plenty of gas pumps, a little dog park area, the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen at a gas station, an incredible selection of healthy, salty, sweet, indulgent treats/snacks/food/drinks, and a safe and comfortable place for our whole family to get out of the car and stretch our legs. Shelees is easy to get to right off the freeway, can be a long or quick stop depending on your needs and then you're all filled up, refreshed and ready to hit the road again. We will be frequent visitors on our Cali road trips from now on.

If you're going east, don't make a right out of Shelee's because Google maps will have you take the 10 west and flip you back around. Now that we know that, we'll probably stop by this exit again during our road trips out of CA. The facilities are really clean and they have a gourmet coffee shop inside. I loved my mocha latte!

The staff is great - all are helpful and friendly and some are exceptional. Issac is the best. He is very personable and yet professional at all times. He is focused and on task. Anyone can see he is an asset there. He seems to be the "go to" guy and works many shifts and holidays. I hope Chevron realizes how lucky they are to have Issac. It has been a pleasure to meet and observe job oriented young people who can multi-task while providing excellent customer service at this Chevron location.

Gas prices at this particular gas station on Hwy 111 in Indio tends to be the most expensive…read morethroughout the entire Palm Springs / Coachella area. Once in awhile, the gas prices will be similar to other nearby gas stations. The location gets so many cars passing by, so I assume that's why the gas prices are so high. But if you just drive down like 1 minute in any direction, you will 99% of the time find a cheaper gas station (even up to 20 cent difference). The only reason why I give this place a 4-star is because my gas nozzle was stuck in my car's gas tank, and when I went to tell the attendant inside, she immediately grabbed a safety vest, then she locked the door, and then helped me pull out my nozzle. I was so thankful; I should've tipped her for that.

Located on the corner of Highway 86 and S Marina Drive, this travel plaza seems to provide everything that a traveler might need -- fuel and diesel Chevron), tons of food choices and ample dining tables (Pizza Hut, Subway, Cinnabon, Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Yogurtland, Jack in the Box, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Imperial County, and Salton 350 Bar), clean restrooms, a general store with travel necessities, and more. What was particularly interesting about this travel stop was seeing the local culture of the large number of ATVers. Virtually every second truck had an off-highway vehicle (OHV) in its bed or on its trailer. Not being local, we're not sure where they were going to ride, but we speculated that a significant number were headed to the Imperial Sand Dunes. These dunes, in southeastern California, stretch over 40 miles long and average 5 miles wide, and are a popular recreation site. While the travel plaza was easy to access, and had everything that you might need, we've rated it as a 4 rather than 5 because of the chaos of the plaza. All of the gas bays were occupied, with all sorts of vehicles vying for a place -- from motorcycles to OHVs to cars to tanker trucks to 18-wheeler. We chose to park "next door" because of the chaos in front of the travel plaza. It also made it easier to re-enter the highway.

This is not a convenience if you have to pump your gas then go inside to wait in line for a receipt. My business spends hundreds of dollars in fuel on a weekly basis. This will be the last time I buy fuel from Tower. I want to pump my gas take my receipt and move on. I do not want to have to go inside to collect it. Either the employees and managers are to lazy to keep paper in the pumps or they are hoping your trip into the store will cause you to buy something.

Most of the other stations charge $0.50 to $1.25/gallon more (throughout the Desert cities) and makes me scratch my head every time why people throw money down the drain and fuel tank at all the other overpriced gas stations. But I understand people with money to burn prefer the convenience and locations of other stations. Speaking of convenience, there's a small convenience store located here too...and it's conveniently located on HWY 111 near The River. Every time I've been here the customer service is outstanding and everyone is all smiles and values their customers. There's window squeegees that some stations don't provide anymore because they get stolen. I know gas is gas...but the station is tops in my book and car for this area and my neighborhood...and I still remember when 76 was the official gasoline of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and had a gas station too in the parking lot at Dodger Stadium. Grandslam I'm a fan.
