There are probably nearly 20 gas pumps and a variety of foods, drink, snack, prepared warm entrees, soda fountain drinks and sundries . If you love snacks, this is the place to be. Lots of south of the border chips, nuts, pan dulces, and biscohos (Mexican and Filipino style cookies). There is also a vast selection of energy and cold coffee type drinks. They have sale signs on items, but the items never ring up the sale price. When ever I have said something to the cashier (now, I do it just to prove a point) they say. "oh, it's not on sale that's an old sign or it not for that item, the item it's for must be sold out." . It's like a rehearsed script. I was charged combo items separately once I noticed it on my receipt I went back in to ask about it. The cashier girls response was that I as the customer needed to state to her I want the combo even though I had previously asked her which items I can choose so I can qualify for the combo. I had also purchased more items in the same transaction and she stated I needed to do separate transactions one for the combo and another for the other items which is a total lie. I threw away the receipt so I don't have a picture but the girl clearly knew once I walked back in what I was going to complain about and she was already smirking and laughing as I walked in and still had the dignity to tell me I was wrong. Wurst place ever. Hope they shut them down. During Covid 19 you are being allowed to be a essential business but when u go to the bathroom there is poop and toilet paper all over the ground. when calling Corp received a call back from manager and she claims they are cleaned every monday morning. HELLO.. she says I dont know what to tell u to make u happy. they were clean when I was there. it is your job to have those restrooms checked every hour. u worry about us not wearing face masks but what damn thing can we catch in that bathroom. I will not stop My boyfriend is busting his ass to get stuff delivered so that you can have food and such in your home. you need to provide a santized place where he can stop. read more

*** Pit stop review (Mecca) *** Needed to pull over to stretch. I roamed through this "travel center" just to get a look around. I've been here a few times in the past. There are certainly better travel center/trucks stops then this one. But this is stop is at a prime location on the north end of the Salton Sea. There's a little food court next to an attached AM/PM Arco minimart. This is like the main stop for anybody coming back from the Salton Sea, or going to, or through the Salton Sea. The lot is full of travelers refueling as this is a main stop before heading further south. Just by looking at the lot everybody is either working in their semi-trucks, pulling dirt bikes with trailers, driving their RV's, or just traveling far. There is nothing for MILES if heading south through the Salton Sea. So if you need food there's a Subway and some other spots to eat inside the food court. Across the way there is also a newer Starbucks if you're in need of a more polished atmosphere :-) BTW, it's Arco, that means NO credit cards accepted. What the heck??? Who carries cash??? I'll eat those words when there's an earthquake and none of the credit card machines work... ha ha ha... Food = N/A Seating area = ok Service = N/A Restroom = clean, but run-down. read more

Absolutely horrible service. They stop selling propane at 10pm and don't have a sign indicating that anywhere. The first at the register was flat out rude about it. Simply put - an armpit of a convenience store in an armpit of a town! We stopped by here on the way back from visiting a relative. After a scenic (HA!!!) driving tour of the Salton Sea we stopped by here to stretch our legs and for me to use the restroom. Biiiiiig mistake. First of all - I felt like I was in a seedy slum somewhere in Tijuana here. Hardly anyone spoke English very well. I could barely find where the restrooms were when I asked one of the clerks. I asked him in English and he answered me in Spanish! I know we live in California and you have to speak a little Spanish here to get around - but come on! Anyway - once I found the restrooms; I felt like I was taking my life into my own hands. The plumbing on one of the sinks was all disconnected in thre men's restroom. And there were wasps...WASPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!...buzzing around..! OMFGWTF?! Needless to say I did my business gingerly and got the hell out as fast as I could. And then I got the hell out and back to my car and out of Mecca as fast as I could, too! The only thing giving this place 2 starts was that I noticed they were fairly well stocked for a convenience store. I think that's because its the closest this town comes to a grocery store. My suggestion - if you have to pee, stop off somewhere on Highway 111 and go pee in the Salton Sea. It's probably safer and smells better. Go here only if your desperate. read more

Contrary to popular belief, there is nothing wrong with this AM/PM. I don't think places should be rated poorly according to how many Mexicans (or any other race for that matter) shop in that area. That being said, this AM/PM has a lot to offer. It's a big place, and it pretty much has everything you need: water, soft drinks, hot dogs/chicken sandwiches/burritos, snacks, chips, toys, automobile accessories, etc. I haven't been here enough to know if the service is that terrible, but I haven't had any problems thus far. I'd give it four stars if the women's restroom wasn't utterly disgusting and didn't reek of urine. How does that happen anyway? Don't we sit and pee? lol On the bright side, the following places are next door: Subway, Chelos Burgers, Juice it Up, Del Taco and even Starbucks! =) read more

Really nice place to stop for a quick snack! :) service is always great. The cashiers are very attentive and quick. I think the review talking negatively about the place is totally wrong. Sometimes cashiers use multiple registers so they're helping different people out at once. Be grateful that these people are working during a pandemic like this. Don't be jerks to them you guys. *Pit Stop Review* I've been driving through here for years at least once a month. It is all very convenient except for one thing, DISGUSTING RESTROOMS!!! With time, the restrooms have become more and more disgusting! I thought it was only women's but my husband has confirmed the men's is just as gross. Considering this is such a busy location, you would think they'd have more stafff keeping the restrooms clean. We have actually diverted our southbound stop to another location to avoid the restrooms. I hope they can make a change sooner than later or we'll just have to divert our northbound stop as well pretty soon. read more

We have been stopping here on our way to and from the Glamis Sand Dunes since it opened. The harsh reviews here are just not accurate. The mini mart is huge and has a great variety of goods for both travelers and truckers. Gas prices are always very competitive. Easy in/out for RV's, even if towing. They also have two RV dump stations. We've never used the restrooms, so I can't vouch for that. But the rest of the property is squeaky clean. I'm fussy about that so I wouldn't get food there if it were otherwise. The food at Chelo's is awesome... we get breakfast burritos on the way down, and burgers or pastrami sandwiches and finger food on the way home. Always delicious. Their onion rings and fried zucchini are the best, and one order of either is enough for four people. There is also terrific Mexican food on the menu. Also has Juice It Up, Subway inside the travel center, and Del Taco and Starbuck's on the property. And free wifi is available, also. We've never had trouble communicating with anyone who works there; there is an ethnic element because of where they are located, but all speak English and have no trouble understanding or answering questions. Don't hesitate to stop there for a fill-up and a snack. read more

The best location for a travel stop. Everytime we travel to California it is the perfect quick stop to grab food and pump gas. The restrooms are big and clean all the time. This could have been a great stop, but Arco puts a $75 hold on your credit card when pumping gas (after they make you come in to pay instead of at the pump). For those with a card tied to a bank account, and traveling on the cheap, that can be an issue. The $75 took up to a week to change to the actual charge of $24. They should have paid me interest on the loan they took. read more
