Arco did a poor job of installing our furnace and AC units. We had immediate issues. Arco told us it was an electrical issue - the electrician (which we paid for) confirmed that it was NOT an electrical issue, and Arco had to come back two more times before telling us that the install was completed incorrectly. This was supposedly an ongoing issue they had with a number of other installs. The unit outside was installed on a slant from day 1, the AC unit was not sealed, so it leaks cold air into the basement. The two other professional services we've had out to maintenance the units have both commented on the poor quality install. If you need HVAC services...Look elsewhere. read more

I am glad I did not go with this company, even if they are recommended by HomeDepot. I requested a quote for new furnace and A/C and spent a week of confirming a 4 hour window before they finally came to give a quote. I thought it was odd that no tape measure or anything was inspected, was given a price (not bad) but the SALESMAN was more worried about financing and how it was to be paid even though I had not purchased anything. I was then told that he could give me a good deal, but I would have to sign paperwork right then and there. He left when I told him I asked for someone to come into my home to give me a quote, I did not ask for a High Pressure Car Salesman to be sent. I purchased from another company that was not pushy salesmen, but technicians that evaluated the whole project and actually gave me options on what products to purchase. read more

I am circling back to update/improve my review. In response to my negative experience in July, one of the new owners of the company responded. Mr. Guidry was very interested in setting things right and I am happy to report that he did just that. Scheduler, Stacy, who was always very courteous and professional, helped to schedule a plumber to come out right away and fix the double valve situation. The plumber, Rocco, was very courteous and apologetic. He did an excellent job to correct the double valve situation. Mr. Guidry and I came to a mutual and fair agreement regarding the fee in July. My faith in ARCO has been restored and I would definitely consider using them again in the future. My earlier review: In July ARCO charged me $487 to pull my toilet and replace a wax seal. I also requested the plumber replace the water shut off valve. Rather than replace it, he simply added a new valve, so now I have two valves! The morning of service I requested a call back with a quote, but no one ever called. The plumber was in my home a total of 1.5 hours. I never received a written invoice breaking down the charges. I have written to @Brian Friedman, owner, twice and left several messages with no reply. Currently, the Home Depot charge for installing a brand new toilet is only $249. I can't understand how we got to $487. I would like the courtesy of reply, an explanation and some kind of refund. read more

They installed a furnace and air conditioner Sep 2022 and I purchased a maintenance program for $199 they came out once to clean furnace and had an appointment to service air conditioner 4/15/2023 and never showed up. Called and got the run around from them. Never heard from them again until they charged my card 2 years later for $199 Feb 15,2025. Called them on Feb 21, 2025 to demand a refund. They even tried to talk me into something that I never ordered. Emailed me a bogus invoice making it look like they refunded me my money. Feb. 26 2025 called them to ask why I never received my refund, they could even tell me the call they refunded it to. I told her citi bank and she said we deleted that account. So, if you deleted it how did you refund my money. This is nothing more then a company trying to defrauding a person in a disabled class. Filed a dispute, filed BBB complaint and now giving them negative reviews on every review site. read more

Had an issue with electric panal.Replacing the panal, sent an electrical surge threw my home that took out several items in my home . I now have my insuance agent involved, they will not return his call. There seems to be only a call center. I am not happy that I had to replace a stove among other items. I am giving it one more week then I am going to get Better Business involved. Electric panal was 3000, new stove 900. Not asking for anything more then my insurance coverage will cover. This company is PURE GARBAGE. They suckered my elderly mother on a fixed income into getting an AC/hearting system she DID NOT NEED and then proceeded with all these add ons that DO NOT WORK (specifically the added system humidifier and ridiculous UV light nonsense). I have had 3 different ARCO techs take a look at the humidifier and each one says it's fine. EXCEPT IT NEVER GETS WET, so how can it be humidifying anything? They also suckered her into a "service contract" and let me tell you, once this garbage company and their incompetent techs get your money, good luck seeing them ever again. If you want to have your electrical technician not show up on time (or not at all) and then charge you $800+ for a half hour of work this is the people you should be calling. I had a scheduled appointment for 8am to 12pm on a Monday, was called at 2:30 pm to say that they could not make it out to my property that time, which wasted six and a half hours of my time. I was then told that I would be the first appointment on the book for next Monday, appointment is from 8 to 12 again. Technician shows up at 11:15 and is out by 11:50 (he did fine work, and was nice this review is not against the technician). For less than an hour of work they charged $868. What are they paying these guys? If they paid each technician $400 an hour it STILL wouldn't work out to $868. Such an overpriced job. read more

If your looking for a new Furnace or water tank Do NOT use them! Spent $15000 for one only to have so many problems after only two years. Had them come back to fix only to have them tell us its our fault as we had hard water, and then spent $1500 for them to fix a two year old heater to only have it break down again. Then once again its our fault as we are on a well system they say. Really, this cost us $450 with no fix, we had our other furnace for over 15 years prior and no issues. They wont help you only blame you for the issues and take your money! When spending that kind of money you would think they would go over what type would work for your conditions, but nope they are only interested in taking your money and then when something goes wrong blame you for it, instead of taking responsibility for it. This is one of the most unprofessional businesses that I have had to deal with. 6 days, 2 emails, 4 voice messages and after setting up the appointment with a window of 9am-12pm, they still didn't show up. We had to call them at about 1:45pm to find out they were not coming and offered to come the following day. This was after our tenant had taken the day off to open up for them. The only reason why we insisted so much was because the Home Warranty Company that we work with had them as their "go to" service company in my area. He was very well spoken: he explained very clearly and succinctly what he was and was NOT going to do, what he found, what my alternatives were, what the costs might be. Very unreliable and overpriced. I don't usually leave reviews but hoping to steer people who had my issue in another direction. We scheduled repair of our AC. The worker who came out to diagnose was nice and professional and there were no issues there. However, there seems to be a lot of issues on the office management/reception side of things. I was told they had the part we needed and scheduled a time for them to come, for which I had to call out of work to be present for (and told them this, so they said they would come to my house first so I could leave sooner). They never showed up. I called after they were two hours late and they said "oh sorry forgot to call but they can't come out today" and gave two conflicting reasons why they couldn't. They said they'd call me first thing Monday to reschedule. During the weekend I got a call from them in reference to someone else's house? Then on Monday, nobody called. I called and left a message, no response. Then on Tuesday, I called twice and they said they marked the request as urgent, still no response. Then on Wednesday they said they didn't have the part (even though they previously said they did) and that we needed to go elsewhere. That same day I called another company who came out less than 24 hours later and fixed the issue for $350 cheaper than what they were quoting. Hoping nobody else experiences what we did and there's more reliable services elsewhere. read more

I have had a service contract with ARCO for several years. They replaced my whole HVAC system in January of 2013. As long as you, as the consumer, keep up with basic maintenance like changing filters and setting up you appointments for tune-ups twice a year, ARCO will keep your HVAC system heating and cooling perfectly. Alan and Andrew have both been terrific service techs. I highly recommend this company! read more

I've used Arco twice, once for regular seasonal service and once for a breakdown. The breakdown happened just last week when my 10 year old furnace went out. Turns out that it was just a gas valve that needed to be replaced. I had called Arco around 9am and they had a tech out by 1PM. The tech, Derek, was fantastic. He wore a mask the entire time he was in the house and had booties on to protect the carpet. He spent the time troubleshooting and diagnosed the problem correctly from the start. He then drove out to Valley View to get the part we needed and had us back up and running. He was friendly and walked me through everything. I do like Arco's membership that they offer. In my case the discount on the service and the part covered the cost and I now get a free service in the spring for the air conditioner. I would recommend Arco to anyone that asked. read more

They tried to tell me it was returned although no stamps on check to show it was ever deposited second I called several times to tell them I cancelled the thermostat and still they billed me for it No one calls you back read more

They installed our new furnace a few years ago and suddenly, during the coldest month of the year, it randomly stops working. It even stopped working on the day that the technician came out for the regular maintenance check-up and he did absolutely NOTHING to fix it. My husband called 6 times before another technician came out a week later and all he did was make excuses that it can't be fixed. Of course it can be fixed, it's YOUR equipment!! So they don't give a crap if we freeze to death all because they are too lazy to fix the furnace that they installed, AND we have a 15 year warranty on it as well. I would never recommend such a careless and horrible company like this to anyone. read more

Very upset with the service received. I requested service on my split AC unit that is out of Freon. Brian came out and determined that he cannot work on my specific type of AC unit. This would be fine, but they charged me a 99 dollar trip fee for them to just tell me that they cannot work on the unit. I told them what type of AC I have upfront (before Brian came). I called customer service to explain my position, they acknowledged that there was a miscommunication and Brian should have never came to my house (because they do not work on my type of unit) but their management refused to refund my 99 dollars. I called Arco for a diagnostic on my two humidifiers and the technician, Allen came out the same week. Arco texted me a picture of the technician and a small bio prior to his arrival. I thought that was impressive! Allen was very professional and highly knowledgeable of all things involving HVAC. Allen was able to diagnose the problem in a timely manner and will complete the repairs once the parts he ordered arrive. I will definitely use Arco again and will request Allen. read more

Arco is the worst. The furnace was working fine, they came to conduct annual cleaning, and it stopped working. They told us we needed a new ignitor - we had them replace that. Then they told us we needed a thermostat - we had them replace that. The furnace is still not working. They took the furnace apart and said the part that they have is faulty and they didn't have the extra parts to fix it. Leaving us with no heat for 2 days. I asked them to call someone to assist with finding the part or call another heating company to fix the heat ... nothing. Per the technician, Management is unavailable on the weekends. We called for a maintenance on our rental Andrew [who was very professional and courteous, a little green but very willing to learn] came to the house for the evaluation. The motor blower's bearings were completely worn. Since our furnace is old the office couldn't not find a specific replacement. The OFFICE speaking on Andrew's speaker phone...TOLD US THAT IF WE BOUGHT A REPLACMENT [THAT ANDREW FOUND ONLONE] ALL I NEEDED TO DO WAS CALL AND THE OFFICE [DANIEL] WOULD SCHEDULE A REPAIRMAN TO COME TRY TO INSTALL IT. *in fairness it was also told to us that there was no guarantee that it could be installed. SO WE PURCHASED THE $200 MOTOR BLOWER THAT WAS SHOWN TO US FROM ANDREW'S PHONE. I THEN CALLED TO SCHEDULE A POSSIBLE INSTALLATION. SUDDENDLY THE VERY SAME OFFICE THAT TOLD US THAT IF WE PURCHSED THE BLOWER THEY COULD ATTEMPT TO INSTALL IT. NOW HAS A 15 YEAR "policy" stating that no part can be installed unless purchased from the company. Andrew is not the villian in this story, he was following instruction from the OFFICE! It's the office who obviously doesn't' know that hell they're doing...they are new but VERY unlearned and unprofessional. My tenant was part/witness to the conversation and WE WILL BE SUBMITTING a formal complaint to the BBB. We purchased a whole home humidifier from a local department store and they use this company to install their systems... the service tech was scheduled to come out at 9a.m. He called almost an hour later to say he would be there in another 10-15 minutes. We had to reschedule for later in the day (he offered 3p.m ). He arrived and spent about 10 minutes assessing the system and said it would not be compatible. He then charged us $90 for the service call. I called to question this and was told that this is what they charge for service calls and it just covers the gas and wear and tear on their vehicles. They also said they lost money because of us ( this is ridiculous) since they came to our house and spent 10 minutes, it prevented them from completing another job in the area! They didn't even show up on time so is this our fault too?? I would not recommend this company to anyone. Awful customer service. Just awful. Shame on them. read more

For only $15/month you get a yearly air conditioning cleaning/check up and then a second visit for the furnace. Easy to get the service put in our name and schedule the first visit. I have never written a negative review on yelp but unfortunately our interaction with this company has been a headache from start to finish (and we didn't even have them complete the job). We originally had a technician come out when we had a leaking radiator valve, and we were charged a fee for the original assessment and quote for the work. We were planning to use Arco to complete the work, but were unable to get ahold of them or receive a call back after numerous attempts to contact them, so we ended up going with a different company. Months later, my husband receives a notice from Arco stating that we still owed them money for the work, and they were going to "send us to collections" if we did not pay. He got confused on what company actually did the job, and unfortunately gave over our credit card info. When I got home and found out what happened, we immediately called Arco to rectify the situation, as they NEVER completed any work at our house. They also had the audacity to request proof that the work was completed by another company. We were told the charge to our credit card would be cancelled, but unfortunately we still have a 1400 charge from Arco on our credit card statement. I have now had to take this up with my credit card company to dispute the claim. Overall, for not having any work done by them, they have made quite the negative impression, as evidenced by poor communication, lack of professionalism, and poor documentation. read more

Awful. Tech misdiagnosed a furnace problem on a very cold Friday evening and further advised me that the part he believed needed to be replaced could not be obtained in any way until Monday morning. In fact, the part could be obtained the next morning (I had to contact the local distributor on my own to find out). But, it turned out that the part wasn't the problem that needed fixing (I contacted a different contractor who correctly diagnosed the problem). When I contacted Arco's management to discuss the service errors, Jim, the operation's manager, was not at all apologetic regarding the technician's failure to diagnose the problem and offered a weak excuse as to why the representation that the part was not available until Monday was not a lie (notwithstanding that I had contacted the distributor and knew better). Given Jim's attitude and behavior, I believe the service experience I received reflects systemic problems with the organization. read more

Several years ago I purchased my furnace from ARCO. Although I don't normally purchase service contracts, their offer was reasonable and covered two checkups per year for furnace and AC which would have cost almost as much as the contract so I went for it. I was also entitled to discounts on service calls and parts, as well as priority on service calls. All was well until the recent heat wave when my AC quit. I called ARCO on a Friday and after the phone rang about 12 times I got an answering service. I left a message to let them know I had no AC, that I had a service contract and that I needed someone sent out. I did not receive a call back on Friday and then of course it was the weekend. On Monday I called again, got the answering service and left another message. Ditto for Tuesday. No one returned my call. I finally got the idea to contact them through the website, at which point someone did return my call, claiming their answering service was terrible and they were going to get rid of them. I scheduled a service call. The technician came out and as I suspected, the AC was fried and I would have to replace the system. He immediately offered to get me a salesperson, but I needed to get to work, and frankly after the lengthy wait for what was supposed to be a priority service call and the lack of response after three phone calls, I wasn't sure I wanted to purchase from this company again. Today I sent a message through the website that I would like to cancel my service contract, as I had decided that I really did not want to continue to work with a company that had so little regard for a customer. Shortly after the message was sent I received a call from an ARCO employee who stated that they had called me twice the previous day to schedule a time to come out and quote on a new system (I received no such calls). When I said that I did not want to purchase from ARCO the person started ranting about the difficulty with my tenant and two other people named Jennifer and Jackie. I tried to tell him that he had the wrong person as I own my own home and am the only resident. I do not have a tenant and do not know who Jennifer and Jackie are. At that point he got ruder so I again told him that he had his information mixed up and that I was not making another purchase from the company. He said I was rude and hung up on me! I understand that we were having a heat wave and I understand that sometimes it is necessary to wait for service. However I find it very wrong that after paying for a service contract for years which is supposed to provide at least priority in scheduling, I could not even get a scheduler to call me back for so many days. And I find it even worse that an employee called and would not listen to me when I tried to tell him that he had his information mixed up and that there was no tenant involved or any other people I didn't know. In my opinion this shows a total lack of regard for a customer and a severe deficit in Customer Service. While every technician I have dealt with over the years has been terrific, dealings with the office have always been difficult and this was just the icing on the cake. Needless to say, I am purchasing my new AC system elsewhere! read more

Arco is a great company. I have a Rheem Furnace and Air Conditioner from them. Unfortunately my AC quit right at the hottest part of the summer. It took a while - I think it was at least three days before someone could come out because they had to order a thermostat. My surge protector blew too. Then I lost power on the day they were coming to fix it. But Joe made it out late after the power came on and got the thermostat working. Surge protector finally arrived and was installed. Rob in the office was very nice and worked hard to get my problem resolved ASAP. And because I waited to get air conditioner fixed they gave me a discount on dryer vent cleaning. It worked out good. They have a great monthly service plan to cover maintenance and some service. They are reputable and stand behind the products they install. read more

Joe, sales person, came to house and said free AC did NOT include the compressor, Freon, controls or piping and we would have to pay extra. He then tried to sell a higher priced unit.
