My husband grew up with Bichon's and we agreed that we wanted one of our own. When I first went to the Fuehne Family Pets website, I was thrilled to see that they actually had a Bichon available. I think it was meant to be. At that time, they had 2 male puppies available and when I contacted Charity, she was quick to reply and shared additional photos and videos of them with me. It was really helpful to see them and while I wanted both of them, we had to choose 1. Once we made our decision, I contacted Charity and she and I agreed to meet up about halfway between our place and theirs. Working with her throughout the process was super easy. I was able to pay half up front as a way to secure my new puppy and then on the day of delivery, I sent her the final payment online. They even provided us with a few goodies like a leash, harness, blank and small dog bed. I was so shocked when she told us we could keep all of that for him. Our little guy has been with us for almost 2 years and we have just loved getting to know him. He was easy to potty train, mainly because Charity and her family started that process at their place. And while he has some weird quirks, I still love him very much and am so thrilled to have him in my life. Baxter Bowie comes to work with me a few times each week and we go on may adventures together. If you are looking at adopting a puppy, I highly recommend Fuehne Family Pets. Unfortunately they couldn't squeeze her in and recommended an emergency clinic. My vet is in STL and since I now live on the Eastside of the river, I choose Hawthorne. When I looked at the reviews on Yelp, I became concerned, but I needed a vet fast. I called, told them the issues and they said, to come on in. Wow, the staff was so attentive and caring to me and my fur-baby when we arrived. We were promptly escorted to an exam room and the vet tech was professional and thorough in asking questions to help us resolve the problem my dog was having. When the vet came to the exam room, she was very loving to my baby and explained what they determined the health issue to be. It was what I thought it was, she had an abscessed tooth. What impressed me was, how they coordinated care with my regular vet. I had my vet on the phone and as a team we all worked to see who could get her in for the tooth extraction the fastest. My vet could get her in the fastest. To make things easier for me and my vet, Hawthorne offered to do the prep bloodwork and send it to my vet. We both appreciated that. When I lived in STL, I had multiple emergency clinics to choose from when a need would arise. Now on the Eastside, there are not that many to choose from, but if there were, I'd still choose Hawthorne. I was impressed with the service and care I received and I am a picky dog dad.
