I was referred to them by a retired breeder in the STL area when I was talking with her about how I wanted a small dog to fit our lifestyle. My husband grew up with Bichon's and we agreed that we wanted one of our own. When I first went to the Fuehne Family Pets website, I was thrilled to see that they actually had a Bichon available. I think it was meant to be. At that time, they had 2 male puppies available and when I contacted Charity, she was quick to reply and shared additional photos and videos of them with me. It was really helpful to see them and while I wanted both of them, we had to choose 1. Once we made our decision, I contacted Charity and she and I agreed to meet up about halfway between our place and theirs. Working with her throughout the process was super easy. I was able to pay half up front as a way to secure my new puppy and then on the day of delivery, I sent her the final payment online. They even provided us with a few goodies like a leash, harness, blank and small dog bed. I was so shocked when she told us we could keep all of that for him. Our little guy has been with us for almost 2 years and we have just loved getting to know him. He was easy to potty train, mainly because Charity and her family started that process at their place. And while he has some weird quirks, I still love him very much and am so thrilled to have him in my life. Baxter Bowie comes to work with me a few times each week and we go on may adventures together. If you are looking at adopting a puppy, I highly recommend Fuehne Family Pets. They take great care of their puppies (and dogs) and are super easy to work with for a newbie like me. Thank you!

I've read a lot of these reviews and some were poor. I do not understand that because I had the…read morebest 1st experience. The front desk staff, the techs, and Dr. Trickel were all amazing and compassionate and treated my bunnies with the utmost care. One of my quad needed a molar trim. If I absolutely had to say one negative thing is that the wait time was a little long But that said it is a hospital and they take emergency patients so I can say if I have an emergency I would want them to take my baby right away. If you don't want to take a chance that you may have a wait time due to an emergency that may come in then you may want to seek more of a clinic type vets office. Thank you Hawthorne and Dr. Trickel

I am deeply saddened and frustrated by the lack of care, competence, and basic empathy shown by…read morethis clinic during one of the most difficult times a pet owner can face. My dog is terminally ill with cancer, and managing his comfort and pain is a time-sensitive, daily priority. Despite the urgency of the situation, this clinic repeatedly delayed filling critical, life-sustaining prescriptions, leaving us waiting for days just to get a response to our refill requests. When you are watching a sick animal suffer, every hour counts, yet our pleas for updates went ignored. When I requested immediate answers and attempted to hold them accountable for these dangerous administrative failures, the staff chose to deflect blame rather than fix their mistake. They accused me of being "verbally abusive" simply because I was being firm, urgent, and demanding transparency regarding my dying dog's medication. Advocating fiercely for a terminally ill pet who cannot speak for themselves is not abuse--it is a response to severe negligence. Medical delays and massive counting errors (when they finally filled one of the medications, they shorted us an entire 25 days' worth of pills) are entirely unacceptable when dealing with end-of-life care. I cannot trust a clinic that handles critical prescriptions so carelessly and treats grieving, desperate pet owners with such defensiveness.
