Two of the coaches, Tyson and Sean. These guys are awesome.

Awesome new gym in Austin! I've found that most boxing gyms are either super intimidating/unwelcoming or painfully gimmicky with zero attention to technique. Archetype is neither of those things. It's a family run business with a really welcoming environment and a legitimate kickass boxing workout. The coaches are a ton of fun but also clearly experts in their craft. They don't just passively run you through the class, they really take time with you one on one to teach you proper boxing technique to help you actually develop skill. The clientele is also a good mix of newbies and more experienced boxers. And shoutout to all the females taking class! And the workout is super well rounded. Difficult and sweaty, but goes by so quickly. You're not just hitting bags aimlessly or doing rounds of cardio, everything is really boxing-centric. They have a lot of cool technique bags (speed bags, "cobra bags", and one other I don't know what it's called) that I had never used before, but they really help you hone technique. I can't wait to see how this place progresses and grows, and by extension how I do. Go check it out for yourself.

This gym was so friendly and knowledgeable! It is expensive but it's worth every penny. Your paying for coaches that know what they are doing and have experience in the sport. Can't beat that! They look at your form and coach you on how to properly do the exercises. Definitely check it out!

I started going to Archetype Boxing gym about 2 and a half months ago and now I'm absolutely hooked on boxing. I came in as a totally new beginner to the sport of boxing but the instructors do a great job of making you feel comfortable no matter what your skill level is and still helping you improve all along the way. Whether you want to focus and really learn boxing technique or you want an amazing workout that's really going to push you while having fun you NEED to come here ASAP. If boxing is something you've always wanted to get into, don't wait start now.

Great new boxing gym in Austin! Even if you have never boxed before you will enjoy this gym and get a great workout. Boxing gyms and instructors can be intimidating to try but Archetype does a good job at structuring the class size and flow to all skill levels. They focus on technique but not so much so that it takes away from you getting a good workout in. The classes include a mix of heavy bag work, holding combos with a partner, speed bags, and body weight movements/abs. The instructors will also do private sessions for those who are interested in 1:1 work. They have gloves there for members to use, as well as clean showers and bathrooms. The instructors clean everything thoroughly after every class. The owners also went all out designing this gym - I love the old school boxing posters as wall paper. The owners, gym staff, and instructors are really what set this gym apart from the rest. They are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and all around good people! Go try a class and you will not regret it!

Great heavy bags! So authentic and such a cool setup!

I am obsessed with Archetype! It's truly the best workout and such a fun and friendly atmosphere. It's rare to find an authentic boxing gym that teaches you the fundamentals of technique as well as the appropriate strength and conditioning necessary, which is what sets this place apart from the rest. Aside from feeling strong and getting toned, Archetype has been very helpful for my mindset as well! All of the coaches are so encouraging and helpful. This truly is my happy place! 10/10 would recommend to anyone interested in boxing or just looking for a kick-ass workout! You won't regret it!!

What an amazing concept boxing & training club. As a first timer I was not sure what to expect, since I'm not a boxer, but was looking for a different workout to experience. Upon entering, you are greeted by the coaches & trainers, we meet Sean the owner, as well as his coaches Tyson ( what a character) , Natalie and Mike. They are all very welcoming, and try to put you at ease. The attendees, were a mix individuals, some looked like intense boxers , and a few 1st timers like myself. They definitely put you at ease, and so as not to feel intimidated. The 1st thing they teach you is how to properly wrap your hands so as to protect your hands. Then they start a group Stretching and exercise to get you loose and limber. The class was completely full, so they then break you into groups , some start on the speed bags at the rear of the gym. Others work on the heavy bags up front, while others get to work in the ring. You get to rotate to different areas in the Gym, to gain experience on all of the equipment, much of which is great in itself. After 45 minutes, you get a great workout . I highly recommend, for anyone looking for a new refreshing workout experience. Will be back

This is a boxing club; but don't get me wrong, it is fun as heck! I struggle keeping up with gym routines or high intensity classes because you're only ever doing it for the feeling afterwards, or for how they promise you'll look, if only you came back 3+ times a week. Do you know what that's called? You're using those classes as a means to an end. But not here. Not boxing. For me, at least, the very activity of boxing is an ends in itself (that just so happens to give me the fitness and body I've been after all along). It's hard, with tricky combos and footwork, coupled with exhausting, 2-minute stretches of nailing a bag with uppercuts. It keeps my mind buzzing, trying my best to keep it sharp and get the combos right (or helping my partner with their's), and forces me to reach deeeep into my reserves to hit, weave, and power through those moments when you just want to say "I can't". The gym is a no-nonsense, warehouse style venue, with plenty of bags and floorspace for the size of the classes, and a pretty decent split of men to women (though I think there's also a dedicated Thursday class for women?) Any notion of it being intimidating go away completely the moment you introduce yourself to the person next to you. This gym keeps true to what it set out to do, and I think for that reason it attracts that kind of person; no pretenders or showboaters or other such characters. There are some pro looking people, and some very green looking people (like me), and some in-between. People come here because they enjoy the thing they're doing. They're not here to just enjoy the after-effects. Classes are Mon, Wed, Fri, and I hope I can continue to make them all! (And when I don't, boy do I miss it!)

I was told have too much pride by a student there in the mist of him yelling. He also called me out saying letting me get in there with him. I replied your 100 lbs heavier than me. He continued on and on and approaching me even calling me a bitch. That is when the coach started to intervene and say you might as well shut up because there's only so much of him that I can control his exact words as I caught the drift and he continued on saying that I teed off on one of his guys as I hit him with a body shot and he was the second guy I faced, but they were trying to drop me with headshot so I see no issues as that's what the Coach was calling for them to do to me and I went to his body. But as soon as I disagreed and said, I did not tee off on him he took off his glasses and said you're really starting to piss me off proceeded to jump down from standing ring side grabbed me, shook me up as I was out of breath still trying to walk out the door because he was kicking me out I couldn't even make it to my stuff and pick it up in a timely manner as he was stalking me tell me I wasn't moving quick and then again proceeded to snatch me up and push me out the door as soon as I could pick up my bag, I agreed on leaving and this action was totally unnecessary and humiliating as a fighter as I just let him do his thing as it's his gym and I felt like I was in position to get jumped. I called the police so a police report has been filed. As if I even tried to stop him from assaulting me, I know there would have been greater conflict as once he took off his glasses and didn't try to reason I started to realize there was no bringing him back. I have not been training long or any really in a boxing gym and would have loved to know what I did so wrong especially since I did not start the confrontation and ultimately this is just unsettling and I don't want anyone else to be in the situation that's why was a necessity for me to type this to go ahead and move on as the Coaches name was BRIAN MOSS and even after calling the police they just wrote it up as assault by contact which most likely nothing will be done, but that gave him opportunity to file trespassing against me and I am not allowed in that gym for at least a year this is now conflicts with me doing a smoker and other training so coming out of the situation I actually lost more. Sorry about the grammar and punctuation. Just wanted to get this out of my head so I used the voice to text to complete. Hope I can give some insight on unity combat club to anyone who cares.
