Review for Arcadia Counseling - Julie Holbrook
Scheduling at Arcadia Counseling was extremely disorganized and frustrating. On multiple occasions, I was placed on a waitlist for a therapist, called to schedule, and then told at the end of the call that the therapist was actually unavailable. This happened repeatedly, making the process stressful and unreliable.
Once Julie Holbrook started seeing my spouse individually (about 4 months into our couples), our couples sessions started to feel one-sided. Over the 7-8 months, it became clear that she is not an effective facilitator--she did not offer guidance, often letting us ramble without direction, and did not use techniques to refocus or calm the conversation. It sometimes felt like progress only happened if she herself became triggered, rather than helping us work through issues constructively. My husband got a few helpful insights from his individual sessions. It seems Julie may be better suited for individual therapy.
Overall, I would not recommend Julie for couples therapy as I do not feel from my own experience that she is a good fit if you are looking for structure, guidance, or real progress in your relationship. read more
