The exhausting week and money was worth it for this amazing feeling. The one week, all day of hard work to help all areas of my brain function was incredible. Lunch was provided every day. The time to rest in between sessions was nice. It was so amazing to see I could do memory exercises at the end of the week that I was not able to do at the beginning of the week. When you get done you still have to continue with the exercises at home. Cognitive FX does provide you with a big binder of exercises. The MRI that was done before the week and at the end of the week were compared and there was a significant difference. Everyone who works here is so kind, patient, and understanding. It was so nice to meet other people who have been experiencing the same symptoms I have for so long. Not everyone understands how you feel but people at Cognitive FX do. This was a life changing experience.

Our family member is a 19-year-old high performing athlete who has had daily headaches and post-concussion symptoms since October. After five months of neurologists finding nothing on standard MRI, we flew to CognitiveFX for the EPIC treatment week. The fNCI scan was genuinely illuminating -- the most objective picture of what was wrong that we'd had in five months. The treatment protocols were sophisticated and specifically mapped to her scan results. Her before and after scores moved dramatically. We believe something real happened this week. But here's what didn't happen. On day one I asked explicitly: by Friday we need an honest clinical assessment of when and if she can return to sports. That was the single most important ask. Friday's end-of-week review was conducted by a nurse and a trainer. No physician was available at any point during the entire treatment week. The doctor whose name is on her scans we have still never spoken to. In fact, we were told three of the four doctors listed at the clinic do not come in, and one wasn't coming in the entire week we were there. No doctors -- at all. We had to push hard just to get a Tuesday Zoom scheduled with the physician of record-- after the week was over and we were already on a plane home. There's more. CognitiveFX ordered a cervical spine MRI on day two of treatment. The radiologist found degenerative disc disease out of proportion with vertebral wedging from chronic axial loading. Nobody mentioned this to us during the week. We found out from a chiropractor we saw on the way to the airport Friday afternoon. CognitiveFX had that report for three days and said nothing. We also requested CognitiveFX's own return-to-sport specialist, who had committed to being part of the end-of-week process in a pre-treatment meeting be included in Friday's review. He wasn't there either. No one was but a thoughtful nurse. For what this week costs, the clinical consultation piece should not require a parent to fight for it after the fact. The diagnostic tool is real. The treatment protocols are real. The therapists and trainers were professional and clearly skilled. But a medically supervised program needs physicians who are actually present and accountable. That part was not delivered. I'll update this review based on how Tuesday's follow-up call goes.

A relative of mine is a current resident there and has been for several months. She is in chronic pain of her sciatic nerve and has so far basically been ignored. She has been to the nearby pain clinic one time with no plan to revisit or resolution for her pain. I have tried to speak to the Nursing Admin and always get voicemail. My calls are never returned. I have left messages for her doctor with the same result. As far as I know, there is no care plan in place for her discharge to an assisted living facility which is her desire and her goal. I live out of state so it is very hard for me to sit back and watch my relative be treated in such a manner. I am looking for another facility as I write this. Take my advice, do NOT let your family stay here. If there were a zero star rating, I would give it zero stars.

I'm so thankful and blessed for this wonderful life we call sobriety. I will never forget as my second day in Rehab was during the first night of the Annual Alumni Meeting down at the Studio. It was in that moment I saw all the wonderful, happy, sober people that I knew I wanted what they had!!!! Thank you so much Cirque Lodge for showing me the light and helping me get on the path to this beautiful life I so longed for. I will always be grateful and love every single staff member who gave me this new life.

Cirque Lodge advertises itself as a dual diagnosis treatment facility. Our family member was…read moreadmitted with a written prior diagnosis for a serious mental health disorder and was not seen by a psychiatrist for the first 50 days of his stay. We were told that the medical staff who are PRNs and therapists, not psychiatrists, did not "see signs" of moodiness and the family member was not reporting symptoms. It was only when the family contacted DHHS was the patient seen by a psychiatrist and prescribed his needed medication. Ironically, one of the reasons our family member developed substance abuse issues is because he had gone off his medication and was self medicating with drugs. So, if mental health issues are a concern, this is not the right place. Additionally, we had almost no support from his therapist. We went 3 weeks without return phone calls and contact with our family was limited to a specific date and time with zero flexibility. It felt like the family involvement was limited to family week which they heavily promote instead of 1:1 check-ins. For $800 per day it felt like a 12 step program in a nice facility. My advice is if you need to send your family member to Cirque Lodge, get the expectations in writing. Their website is purposely vague and for $800 per day it should not be unreasonable to expect weekly calls for updates and the patient to be seen by a medical professional if they have a pre-existing condition. I can only imagine how much more difficult it would be for families who suspect a mental health issue. I would also interview the therapist who will be working with your family member. Ours was awful. We also contacted Cirque Lodge with a formal complaint and request for refund for missed time with the right treatment plan. They declined our request. For our family, it's less about the money and it is more about the shocking lack of mental health awareness. As I asked one of the Cirque leaders "If a patient was admitted with a diagnosis of diabetes would you withhold their insulin until they had a blood sugar crash?" I don't know how it's any different. Fortunately, we have our family member in a better facility now and he is getting the treatment he needs. We are redoing the first 90 days which comes at great expense in both time and money. If you have similar circumstances, I hope our story helps you.

My experience was absolutely heartbreaking. I should not have been admitted here. My state was very manic and they didn't have the staff, security, or means to take someone in my condition. They should've denied me in the first place instead of trying to put me on medication that I'd already been on. Medication did not work previously three times before so why would it magically work in this stage? The fact that they injected me with Haldol, Ativan, and Benadryl made matters worse. One of the good parts about my stay was the music therapist. He was kind and doing his job correctly. I've had friends work here when it was Provo Canyon and Aspen Grove. Both had bad experiences too. Of course there will always be opposition in all things and someone may walk away with a good experience. That is wonderful if that was you, but unfortunately I have heard majority experiences at Provo Canyon/Aspen Grove that have left clients and workers traumatize. Please consider another place to stay. If someone wants to contact me from Aspen Grove directly please do, although everytime I leave a review it either gets reviewed or they say to reach out on their page, but they never respond to me. Hence I have decided to take matters into my own hands. It may take several years but please read below if you get anything out of my review. If you are interested in the class action lawsuit against Provo Canyon Behavioral Hospital/Aspen Grove Behavioral Hospital before and after the name change please feel free to reach out on my instagram (see handle below) Highly recommend not going to this place for treatment. Much better places like Huntsman in SLC or New Roads in Provo for a longer/safer treatment. Life is worth living. Instagram: @Dajolleyman

Everywhere around this facility are posted signs reading, "Call, Don't Fall!" and verbiage urging patients to use the call button if they need help. But on a recent weekend my mother needed help in the restroom and was left to fend for herself for over an hour, despite pressing the call button repeatedly. (Apparently the nurse just forgot about her.) While I was there, I noticed the only effective way to get a staff member's attention was not to press the call button, but to walk to the nurse's station and ask for something in person. That's not a valid option for most of the patients at this facility who are less than fully ambulatory. My mother is also developing a bedsore on her heel. The staff treated it immediately when we pointed it out to them, but better quality care and frequent skin checks might have ensured that the bedsore never formed in the first place. The positives: rooms are spacious, comfortable and usually cleaned once a day (less so on the weekends) and the kitchen is staffed by a dietitian who is able to accommodate special diets, such as diabetic, renal, celiac, etc. There's a physical therapy room, a salon which takes appointments on Wednesdays, various enrichment activities and an LDS church service on Sunday mornings. But if your loved one needs careful, regular monitoring and quick response times from staff, this may not be the best choice of rehab center.

However, one shower nurse was very unkind to my mother! She made my mother's stay there and her recovery absolutely miserable! My mother was also treated very badly by the facility leadership. So I have mixed feelings about Stonhendge. And like I said, some of the nurses and physical therapists were just absolute angels to my mom. But some of the staff, including an extremely mean nurse, ruined the whole experience for my mother there. I don't understand why extremely cruel people like this nurse become CNA's? There's so many other (less stressful) occupations out there where you don't have to take your bad attitude out on vulnerable elderly people! WHY?
