While I haven't personally had an appointment at this clinic yet, it came highly recommended by a…read moreclose friend whose children have received care here. She spoke especially highly of Nancy, sharing that she is incredibly compassionate, knowledgeable, and skilled in working with trauma and abuse. As a parent currently navigating these challenges with my own child, I've been searching for a place that offers not only expert care but also understanding and support. I'll be reaching out soon to connect with Nancy, and I already feel encouraged knowing that others have had such positive experiences here. I'm grateful for the recommendation and hopeful that this will be the right fit for our family.

Despite being on the waitlist for some time (7 months) before being able to see anyone (which frankly I didn't mind because I was not the type to go to, nor did I want to go to therapy; because you know I'm a guy and guys don't talk about their feelings) I have been able to work through some very challenging things and have seen a significant difference in my mental health since meeting with them. If you're looking for a therapist that cares for you, seeks to understand you, and who you can send memes to you should seriously consider Jimmy and his staff. They are top notch and in my opinion are the best there is.

Hey. I just recently came out of this residential a few months ago. It felt like home; I had some…read moregood friends there. I really loved my therapist, whose name was Rebecca. I really loved the staff there, too, but there were some whom I did not like that much. They had a really good chef (his name was Wayne), and the food he made was really good. I felt like their schedule was pretty good. Most of the weekdays, we had a schedule of mostly school and therapy. Tuesday we would go to a self defense class, Wednesdays we would do a prep activity once you had made it to that level, Thursdays there would be horse therapy, and Saturday we would have a Saturday adventure, where we would go out and do some kind of activity in the afternoon/evening, and Sundays would be a pretty calm day and would have an hour to be able to keep things with yourself and do things like, practice religion, mindfulness, etc. I loved this place and would recommend it for most people.

After so much pain, heartache, tears and sleepless nights while our daughter moved from hospital to hospital without any progress we finally found hope at Imperial Healing House. The level of care they offer, the program protocol, the friendly warm staff, amazing quality of food, the cozy warm comforts of home, the communication and responsiveness, the cleanliness and organization, the activities, the therapy, the academics, the focus on family, the peer support is exactly what we need. This place so far has exceeded our expectations and has given us hope and my daughter a future. I can't say more positive words, I'm just so grateful and thankful this place exists.

In our particular case, our daughter, a strong/smart girl, found ways to grow from the experience, though she tells hellish stories of staff scamming records and horrible treatment. I always had the sense staff was invested in making money and far less in turning kids around. Loosely and clumsily run in my opinion. They are Mormons and my daughter would joke about their Mormon underwear which was true. Her therapist, Tristan, LOST HER SESSION RECORDS... which killed a $30,000 reimbursement from insurance. We were incensed about that as you can imagine. The idea is interesting, DA is not the iteration that makes it work. Don't do this to your kid (as other parents have said). If you're on the fence, perhaps my daughter (now 31) might talk with you to help a decision. Largely a joke. Check the reviews.

RUN! DON'T DO THIS TO YOUR CHILD. I ran away from this…read moreboarding school. Do not send your kids here! Upon arrival, they place you in a white, empty hole in the wall, with a plastic mat in the floor, with no shoes and minimal cloths, with nothing else, similar to an insane asylum. TO WHO EVER IS READING THIS: We aren't making this up, there are numerous reviews explaining how this happened to them. They left us in there for days! I'll never forget the numerous cold nights I spent crying in that white tiny area, hoping, and praying someone would come save me. In regards to reviews that state the room (hole in wall) didn't exist, I am reposting a picture to demonstrate the white area they locked us in. The positive reviews must be fake accounts or owners of DA. The entire time I was there, they didn't allow me to speak to my family. This was traumatic. Thankfully, I was smart enough to crawl out of the roof window and scale down the wall and run, as fast as I could without shoes. Best decision in my life. ...we had a wonderful escape plan...too many details for a post here,, but we end up making it home back to Cali...long long greyhound ride, with lots of loving individuals and new friends who helped us on the way. Most the counselors were uneducated and unfriendly. The scholastic standard is below minimal. Your kids will receive horrible education here. Teachers are not accredited. Be aware of what will happen to your child when you send them to an enclosed building with strangers. Upon me escaping, they refused to return the full year payment my single mother had paid. After a legal battle, we received part of our payment in return. If you don't believe me, feel free to contact me and I will tell you the entire story how I escaped from this hell in Provo Utah and arrived in San Diego, CA. As much as I have healed from the scars caused by this place, I must warn others, don't place your kids in danger. P.S. Simple look at the bars on the windows. SCARIEST place ever.

First of all, they contacted me months after my appt in a condescending email that my insurance wasn't covered and I was responsible for the bill. Being proactive as I am i contacted them immediately and it turned out they didn't have my latest insurance. I provided all the information and stated could they please give me an update? I had to keep calling and texting and all they said was we dont have an update yet. Then almost 2 months later I contacted them yet AGAIN and They said "yeah its all set your insurance paid" well you THINK they would have told me?? No communication i had to do all the work. They gave me anxiety ironic because they are a firm to help relieve anxiety.

Honestly, I feel like 99% of therapist don't really have empathy and are going through the motions. Elizabeth is an active listener, and you can tell she genuinely is empathizing with you and analyzing what you're saying to best help you problem solve and work through your emotions. She's really good at responding via emails, and she really just is an excellent attentive therapist, so I wanted to sing her praises a little because therapist like her are incredibly rare.
