In fact, the doctors usually hurt more than they helped. So I started doing a lot of research on my own and was able to finally find some relief with diet restrictions, but I didn't want to be restricted and barely surviving my whole life, I wanted to be free of illness and thriving, so I kept looking and I finally found Dr. Wright and Julie. They figured out I've had several infections (Lyme, Epstein Barr, etc.), which other doctors had tested for, but they didn't use the right tests and so failed me just like all the other doctors failed me (I'm pretty upset at our healthcare industry if you couldn't tell). I'm now infection-free and feeling so much better. I'm still going to the clinic to help rehabilitate my poor body because after being sick for a lifetime, it's taking a bit more work to recover fully. But I feel so much better than I ever remember feeling already, so while I'd love to not be pouring all my money into healthcare bills still, I'm finally seeing real results and that makes it worth it. You have to be open-minded about some things they use, like the biometric machine (or whatever it's called). I thought that was a bunch of hooey at first, but it's turned out to be an invaluable tool. I can honestly say Dr. Wright and Julie gave me my life back. Also, everyone that works at the clinic is AMAZING! I love them all so much. Some of the IV treatments can take several hours to complete so you really get to know the people there (both the staff and the other patients) and without any exceptions, they are all so kind and wonderful. It's a lovely feeling being able to go to the doctor and being welcomed instead of feeling like you're a problem they don't want to deal with or you're interrupting their gossip sessions at the front desk. If you want a kind and knowledgable board-certified endocrinologist to care for your thyroid and parathyroid issues, Dr. Orozco is your man. (Note: the previous doctors at the Thyroid Institute of Utah, particularly Dr. Ahmad, is not there anymore. They won't tell you until it's too late, but if you no-show for an appointment, these people will drop you as a patient INSTANTLY. They may tell you that medical records and a referral are required to see the doctor and then ignore your attempt to communicate about meeting these requirements before said no-show. (Do not count on text communication with this team). None of this bodes well for someone like me whose severe endocrine disease contributes to major executive function trouble. I wish I had been better about making arrangements, and I own the part I played in being prepared for my appointment. I scheduled a month in advance, yet still couldn't quite make things happen in time. I didn't do enough. Don't be me! Regardless, depending on who you speak to about it when attempting to reschedule, you may be treated with respect or you may be deliberately humiliated and treated like a duplicitous teenager trying to get one over on Mommy Dearest (looking at you [t]Angela). Based on this fragile no-show policy alone, the intentional disrespect from some (not all) in the front office notwithstanding, it's hard not to see Dr. Orozco as a cold, self-absorbed (have you seen the website?) man who prioritizes his own ego over your well-being. Maybe charge a no-show fee or get over it like literally everyone else in the medical care industry. All things considered? In short: Decent medical care requires compassion and human understanding, so I would not trust this office to provide quality care. The Hippocratic Oath is not taken seriously here. A patient's health is more important than a medical professional's pride or sense of convenience. Period.
