Wife and I found Arcadia via yelp on a whim while driving around Scottsdale and wanting to look at blinds and shutters after replacing all of our windows in our home. We stumbled upon Russel at the Arcadia shop who was instantly friendly, personable and extremely well versed in his products and their features - a great first impression and experience. We arranged an in-home measurement - Russel arrived on time and brought tons of great samples to choose from (my wife's favorite). We talked about practical matters (installation, remote controls, etc) and had fun talking about other interests we had in common, as if we were old friends. A day or so later he provided a detailed estimate that was right on the button for what we hoped to spend but also expected in terms of cost and value. Our project also included shutters - his recommendation was to repair and refurbish vs replace because our shutters were made of wood and were custom, and, he knew "the best guy in the Valley" who could do the job. This earned my respect because he passed up selling us new shutters (which he could have done for a profit) and instead saw the value in our existing shutters (value we could not see). He convinced us and that saved us potentially tens of thousands of dollars in our project (we had a quote from 5 yrs years prior to replace our shutters for $24k!!). Due to extenuating personal circumstances (a death in my family) we ended up going a different direction with our project, but we did use Russell's shutter repair recommendation, which was spot on and an excellent experience. I highly recommend Arcadia Blind & Shutter and of course, Russell, who knows his stuff, knows his business and was a joy to work with at every step along the way of our particular journey. My husband and I did some remodeling at the end of the year and decided to get rid of our existing window coverings during the process...which was a great idea until we had to live in a house without window coverings for several months. After finally deciding enough was enough, we looked up nearby window treatment stores and were surprised to see there was one less than a mile away! I drive by this intersection almost everyday and never noticed Arcadia Blind & Shutter tucked away in a small complex. I'm so glad we found them! The showroom is small but they have a good selection of products up for you to see, as well as dozens of huge binders with samples.They also had helpful information and were not pushy. We initially really liked one particular treatment, but when we mentioned we had cats, they steered us away even though it was one of the more expensive options. After we picked out something we liked, they quickly drew up a rough estimate and then came out to our house later that week to show us samples in person and do measurements. It did take a few weeks for the treatments to come in and get installed, but it was worth the wait. Our installer was friendly and did a great job. Our windows look great! The product is great... this is a local, family owned business. working with Russel and Karen is easy...they are friendly and knowledgeable. Recently I had shutters put into my bedroom...after being told by several companies that shutters could not be inset in these windows Arcadia Blind/Shutters did just that and they look great. The products are excellent quality and the installs have gone beautifully each time.Their prices are right in line with other companies and a bit lower than several I expected otherwise of. Over Easter break 2021, we visited our son's new condo in Scottsdale, AZ. and had made plans (via emails) to have Arcadia Blind & Shutters meet us there to measure and quote for new shutters throughout. I contacted Arcadia to get a second quote on shutters. Russell was easy to communicate with (email/text works best for me since I get tied up on the phones at work and this seemed to work just fine for him too). He came out to the house, listened to what we wanted, measured, and gave me his opinion about why a different type of covering I had been considering might not be the best option for a particular window. The other guys were ready to sell me what I asked for (which is nice, I guess) but Russell wanted me to to have a product that looked great aesthetically, was functional, durable, and reasonably priced. Turnaround time was shorter than promised, the installer was courteous and efficient, and my new shutters and honeycomb shade have totally changed the look of every room in the house. This is exactly the type of small business we love to support! We had put off getting shutters for some new custom windows we had built because everyone we had spoken to had quoted us insane prices because they were not out of the box sizing. This brother and sister team were not there just taking orders, they listened to us and figured out that what we thought we needed was actually not what we needed, came to our home twice to go over and then confirm options and saved us a chunk of money we had anticipated having to shell out. However, in the case of Arcadia Blinds & Shutters, our experience was so positive that here we are. We were referred by an extremely picky friend who was thrilled with her results from AB&S. After we installed new French doors in our bedroom and living room, we were on the hunt for window coverings. We know nothing about blinds, but Russell was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and came to the house to look at the doors, windows as well as how different fabrics looked in our lighting. He was very direct and honest, even pushing towards a less expensive fabric for the living room knowing that we have pups. His recommendation was spot on and we love how it turned out. This company was wonderful to deal with in all the ways a buyer values. A year ago, I purchased 9 solar shades for the windows of our community center where I live. They are sleek and contemporary. One year later, they continue to function perfectly. The selection and installation went so smoothly; each shade was measured, manufactured and installed perfectly. We couldn't be happier with the service we were given and the lovely quality of the shades. (6 months earlier, I had 3 Day Blinds make and install 7 shades in my home. It was a total nightmare with many mistakes, incorrect measurements, poor installation and poor quality of the material. Having had this bad experience, I was so impressed with Arcadia Blinds and wished I'd used them for my home.
