I went in to the store to purchase a few items, and they would not sell them to me for flimsy purposes, although they were out on display for sale, and they were not "banned items" (adult films, knifes/blades, etc.--I am well over 18, by the way) or being held for another customer. I have been to many different thrift stores, and while some are excellent and some are bad, I have NEVER been to one where they flat out refused to sell items they had for sale on the floors, this after I had to wait several minutes to be served as the cashier was busy playing on the computer. I am not sure if this is an ARC policy or if this store is always like that, but I can safely say that I will never frequent this store again, and the people of St. Martinville deserve better. In addition, it poorly reflects upon the mission and professionalism of the ARC, an organization that tremendously helped my late Down's Syndrome uncle and extended family. All I can say is that I do not see this store lasting very long, and I do hope another organization opens a superior one that actually sells everything on display instead of saying "I cannot sell that to you" for everyday VHS/DVD items and books and then throwing them in the garbage.

It was such a pleasure learning about their shops history and family. This place really seems to be a staple in the community. I have never been to a better second hand shop. Because it's consignment everything is thoughtfully curated and priced. They offer a variety of brand names and designers. I have been wanting to redo my closet for a while with more of a capsule nature and this was the most perfect and affordable place to do so. The rack you see in my picture below was everything I had shopped before I tried things on. I left with about 3/4 of this rack.
