We interviewed a few contractors and after meeting Daryl and Shelbie, the owners of TrueMark Construction, we felt we found a fit. They have a professional process and approach, starting with a formal design that helped us decide the new layout, materials and colors. After design we felt comfortable with how the finished product would look and went under contract. The construction process put together by Daryl was seamless. He provided constant communication with us to ensure we were aware of any issues, what was going on and what was next. He even provided a weekly video walkthrough of progress if we were not available to discuss it in person. There were only a couple change orders, initiated by us, where we added to the scope. TrueMark had no issues with us requesting these changes and they were able to keep within the original timeline. The final product is exactly what we expected, perfection. One concern with construction is always the mess and dirt that travels throughout the house. This was NOT the case with Daryl and his crew. WATCH OUT! BEWARE! THIS COMPANY AND OWNERS HAVE QUITE A HISTORY! We hired the owners and their…read morecompany to remove texture and paint from our kitchen ceiling, repair the wall around a window and repair walls where new cabinets would not cover, paint the kitchen walls and baseboards and shoemolds. The quality of the work was so bad that we hired another company to repair their damages and redo the ceiling, paint the shoemold, and repatch and paint the walls of the kitchen. The claimed owner, Jermie, initially gives you a great speech on how great his company is with workmanship, timeliness, professionalism, even a 2 year warranty on work performed. Regarding workmanship, his work is so far below average to the point it needs to be redone. The first day, they showed up on time and it all started out well. When my husband called him later about the poor job being done, he refused to talk to my husband because it was after 5pm, and Jermie said not to contact him in any form during non business hours (before 7am or after 5pm M-F). The next morning, after 7 am, my husband called again and he says "let me do my job", and hung up on my husband. Later, we agreed with him and received confirmation in a voicemail he left us, and we texted another confirmation via phone, that he was to repair and complete the job starting a full 2 weeks later than originally agreed to. Sadly, they did not show up and when I called him, after 8am, where was his crew, he replied, "we are not coming this Monday, maybe next Monday." Now because of this business our kitchen remodel came to a halt because the work he WAS PAID to complete needs to be redone and is holding up the electrician, remainder of cabinets to be installed, and tile contractors. We are so grateful and thankful that we did not trust him with the entire kitchen remodel. Also, while in our home, he was actively seeking other jobs in our house, and we regrettably paid his crew to repair 2 other ceiling areas in the house and paint and repair a wall in our Master Bathroom. They did not repair the wall in the Master bathroom. They just put 2 coats of paint over a lumpy wall. Also, the other 2 ceiling repairs look unfinished and noticeable. They leave a mess behind (piles of dirt, their food and drink containers) and claim they will clean it all up when they are done, and we are to live that way in the interim. My front porch has ceiling "mud" all over it that needs to be power washed to be removed. Thousands of dollars and weeks later, we are still MISERABLE and having to hire another company to repair and redo the additional work they left us with.
