My uncle owned a sub shop from the 70's though the 80's until they were beat out in the 90's. I'm sure it's my personal taste, but a standard assorted with tomatoes, onions, lettuce and sub sauce is what I consider to be a traditional sub. My wife agreed. As I said, we went a couple times. Both times it was the same guy which I later realized was the owner/husband. The time after that, it was the wife. I only learned this because she was wandering around frustrated, trying to properly microwave bacon. She said "I'm going to call my husband" and she did. The bacon sucked and the buns were probably day-old's. I went back last week. Young guy working. Very polite. Asked for 2x 12" Super Assorted (double meat) and extra cheese with tom, onion, sub sauce, on white. Got home. There was no cheese on either sub. The buns were probably day-olds. Disappointed again. I used to drive to this place on the other end of the city because they really had made solid, old school subs with fresh buns for a great price. I'm not going any more. Sorry owner-guy. If you want it done right, do it yourself.

The place with a little hot that day, but the staff were very friendly and they attempt to open the door to cool the place down, but unfortunately their stopper did not allow the door to stay still.

I have eaten only these 3 items on 2 consecutive days - both days I got severely poisoned to the point that I woke up both nights with stomach cramps for the 1st time in my life. (At first I thought it was stomach flue, so the second day - at first I did not eat anything and then, once I was feeling better, I reached into the fridge, which had only these 3 items in it). I called the owner today, I told him all I had at home was: veal wieners, frozen meat pierogies and Swiss cheese from his store and how sick I got. (I was supposed to go out of town today and I had to miss my seminar, that's how sick I still am). This is the response I received: - what would you like me to say? - I don't know, I am calling you and letting you know that I have supported your business for many reasons and years, I have never been so sick in my entire life. (I was rethinking my last will last night, that's how sick your food made me). What would you like to tell me? - NOTHING REALLY, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE THAT ANY OF THESE ITEMS WERE SPOILED. That's it! There is your business. Not even - I will take a look to make sure, or I will call our provider to ensure the pierogies were not double-forzen. Nope. Zero! Nothing. Over $20 in rotten food, not even an offer for an exchange. Or - let me take a look. I know where I am NOT going till the end of my life and I will make sure my dog is not exposed to the spoils in my fridge.

So in we go to a well kept food establishment which lately is very hard to find in this city. Cleanliness all over. Well done Pita Pit. The staff that acknowledged me were very friendly. The others I guess were to busy in what they were doing. We placed our order which was promptly made using excellent food handling practices. We paid and sat down to eat inside. I believe there are 3 tables and chairs but for some reason 5 is popping into my head. What I'm saying is plenty of room for a lunch spot for small groups. While there, I had the need to use the washroom. I was surprised a bit to find a well maintained room. As a single father, a change table would be a great addition though. Just a thought. Back to my table to finish. After a bit longer, we both walked away completely full and ready for our outing and some quality dad/son time. If you've never been here, was take the time out to visit or order delivery from them. You won't be disappointed.

I actually ate most of it without the bun to have room for the accompanying greek salad. Also excellent, and a small thing to be happy about, but the black olives were pitted so I did not have to worry about busting a tooth. The delivery was on time and not expensive. 5 out of 5
