DON'T USE ARBORCARE. I saw their sign on the road and decided to give them a call to get 1/2 cord of firewood. The call was answered by someone barely intelligible, who after hearing that I'd like to buy firewood told me to go online for prices and ordering. SO I go to their website and put in an order along with a few questions and my email address so they could contact me back. About a day later I received an email that didn't address my questions, but simply read "phone number?"
So, frustrated but still in need of firewood, I email them with my phone number and soon after received a call in which they set up a delivery time for the next day, and I got the chance to get my original questions answered (they take cash only btw). The next day, they arrive on time, take the cash, and dump an amalgamation of soaked through wood, dirt, and gravel directly into my landlord's parking space.
All that day and the next we spent carrying heavy, sodden, dirty wood down the hill to stash under the house and found that much of it was not cut to size width-wise, or was very oddly shaped, or was basically still a log. Some pieces looked like they were actually just clumped dirt, while others looked like they had been freshly split that day. We ended up buying an axe and now every day go out to split wet logs, and spend about three hours trying to get every fire started. DO NOT USE ARBORCARE. read more
