Cheap and Great were just that! The best tree service we've had in 23 years. Trimming our 70+ year old oak was thoughtfully performed and same for our 3 maples. Their crews communicated through the processes and were respectful to our lawn and yard furniture along with great clean up, looked as though they hadn't been there. 06-08-26. They were cutting down a neighbors tree. They quoted us $1900.00 to remove a 70 ft damaged tree and stump. Less than two other quotes we received Took them 15 minutes, they removed all the debris and ground the stump out below level. A well honed, well running crew. Very professional, pleasant, easy to work with. I was extremely impressed. 70 yo home owner. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They harass people to try to get their business. I called several times because they keep putting their flyers in my mailbox but nothing is ever done. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau! read more

I have asked this company to stop mailing me flyers every 3 weeks. I have called several times and asked to be removed from their mailing list. I normally don't mind getting flyers but every 3 weeks is a bit much. read more

These guys have many homeowners leaflets that they would take $500 off a job quoted over $1000; Senior discounts. NOT true! They quoted without any discounts. Our driveway got stained with oil dripping from their bobcat. They left tree trimmings and cuttings in front of home in the street for over 2 days. I had to give the driver gasoline to fire up his blower. Quoted on way and wanted to increase there quote due unforseen circumstances. We were tricked and paid the price. We do not recommend. read more

Highest recommendation for this awesome team. I have used their services for two jobs now. Both times they showed up lightening fast with a competent and efficient crew. They dropped 3 trees with zero damage to surroundings and did nit leave as much as a twig behind. They cleaned up the yard and had all removed in a matter of a couple hours. Best price in town by a huge margin. Best of all, they were all so polite! read more

Severely damaged my building and will not return calls. Very low integrity! Had to find out from my cameras.

Called them and they came out within 70-80 minutes. Guy was very knowledgeable and professional and laid out several scenarios to fit our budget. We agreed on price and he said be here in 2 days. They pulled up next morning with 7 guys and skid steer and was done in 2 hours. They put big rubber mats down for the steer to drive on. (Rubber tracks). They cleaned up everything really nice and did everything I asked them to do. Well oiled crew. Professional climber and ground crew . They know what they are doing no doubt. Absolutely will use again and recommend. Don't understand the few bad reviews. They must be assholes . You always have a few in the crowd read more

I've never used them, but I live in a newly built neighborhood where the biggest tree is about 3 inches in diameter. I have called many times asking to be removed from their mailers. Normally, I would just throw these away as junk mail, but they send more mailers than any company I've ever seen in my life. I probably called there four times every time I'm told "yes sir we will take you off our mailing list". this does not work as within a month or so yet another mailer shows up, then it seems like 1x a week. This is super frustrating and honestly they're wasting postage as our entire neighborhood won't need their services for at least 10 to 15 more years. If someone from your company can respond I will once again happily give my information but I'm literally begging you. Please stop sending mailers to my house. read more

(5,000 stars if I could) I cannot say enough good things about this tree service. They removed around 10 trees and were outstanding from start to finish. They undercut every other competitor's price -- and then completely exceeded expectations. The crew was polite, professional, and incredibly efficient. I have honestly never seen a team work so fast and so smoothly while still being careful and precise. When they were done, the area was thoroughly cleaned up -- you'd never know such a big job had just taken place. No shortcuts, no mess left behind. If you're looking for a tree service that is fairly priced, hardworking, respectful, and truly knows what they're doing, stop searching and call them. This was one of the best contractor experiences I've ever had. Highly, highly recommend. read more

They have lousy customer service and tell lies. Very deceptive advertisement. I Do not recommend this company at all.

I had an excellent experience with Cheap & Great Tree Services. I had over 18 trees removed from my backyard - all were diseased/rotting or damaged and very large. I highly recommend them based on the following qualities: - Very professional and prompt - Excellent pricing - Organized large crew and professional grade equipment - Fast and efficient - Very hard working and friendly crew An all-around excellent experience and a company that I will use again in the future. read more

Obviously customer service is the lowest priority!! We paid over $6000 to have trees cut down and stumps ground. They did not grind down the stumps and now it's holding up our concrete to put up a building and no one will call back or come out and fix it!! DO NOT USE!!! read more

I worked with this group to take out nine stumps to be ground... Their prices were outstanding and they did a really good job. I will be hiring them again.... They did great work, they showed up on time and they have up-to-date. Good equipment. are excellent. I them a total of four stars because I have not had them take down a tree, but they get five stars on everything else afterwards read more

They were so professional. Yes they will give a quote and negotiated but then did show up when promised and honored a terrific price. Crew was efficient and quick. Great value for taking down 2 very large trees safely in about an hour. Plan to have them back for some More service !! Others complaining about flyers? Really glad we had them as an option. Wouldn't have known without a flyer!! read more

Their price was lower and the work could not have been better. 6 guys, rope and heavy equipment. In 1 1/2 hours they completed 4 huge limbs near our house, cut down 2 trees and took all trees, limbs, and debris, raked and were done. Amazing team, Leon!! Keep doing amazing work. read more

Don't use them!!! We just used them today and they hung up on me when I called having an issue. They over charged and didn't do what they said they would. Tried to call to get info what went wrong and they hung up on me mid convo. They sent a 35% coupon in the mail and my husband didn't realize it so when I asked about it, he said it was the price with the coupon. They asked my husband what the other companies charges and he told them (he shouldn't have done that). This company reduced the price by $300 than other companies. When I called to say we had the coupon, they said they inclided the coupon. If thats truly the case, they are WAY OVERPRICED!!! We were going to have them cut down 3, 2 struck by lightning the insurance was going to pay for and one we were having done. They told my husband they'd come cut the one and wait for the other 2 for the insurance to give us the money. They got here this morning and cut ALL 3 DOWN, so we had to pay for all of them which we didn't have the insurance money yet. This is a shady company and if you call to discuss, they'll hang up on you. They got our money, they had no interest in discussing what went wrong. HORRIBLE COMPANY - BEWARE!! read more

UPDATE. dThey finally came back this morning and picked up all the tree debris. No calls messages totally no communication from this company. So they did not take my money and rum but they took their time in completing the job. Would not recommend read more

Unprofessional and breached boundaries--avoid. Columbia SC area!! I specifically scheduled this company to take a tree down on Friday so I could be present for the job. Instead, they showed up two days early without notice when only my son was home. Without permission, they reached over my latched gate--which can only be opened from the inside--and forced it open to begin cutting down the tree anyway. I had to rush home from work just to force them to stop working immediately and demand they get off my property. They completely ignored our scheduling agreement and violated my privacy by trespassing into a secure gate unannounced. Luckily, I had not paid a deposit and I refused to pay them a single dime for their unauthorized work. I strongly advise against using a company that shows zero respect for boundaries, schedules, and communication. read more

Thr service we received was fast and efficient. The team arrived and had the job completed in less than 30 minutes. 15 minutes later the truck arrived and hauled all the brush away. Solid service and price. We would recomend. I'm a hard auhz on services, this team was great. Thank you! read more

Left debris and garbage around my property. Their equipment tore up the road. They didn't speak English so communicating with them was poor. They neglected to do a portion of the job I requested. They made a big mess - not happy. read more

BEWARE-They will not remove the limbs and trees they cut down. They will carry them all to the street. They then tell you the "truck" will be around in the afternoon/next morning. It never comes. You call them and they tell you that you are on the schedule for "tomorrow". That tomorrow never comes. Simply liars running a scam. Don't fall for it. read more

They were super efficient and well staffed for the work making it a pretty good experience

Do not recommend this service. They caused an extreme amount of damage to our driveway and they refuse to pay. You cant even locate and address or speak to the owner because a KEVIN ( a manager) said his attorney told him to not pay to fix the property damage they caused. He won't even talk to you he has a worker (JOSE) to relay this message to us. And I'm not entirely sure he understands. Pursing legal action. read more

They have terrible business practices. I received a flyer in my mailboxl that offered 500 dollars if you spend 1000 or more. Then this guy showed up 10 minutes later to give me a quote then said I couldn't use it because the job wasn't 1000 dollars. Made the price 900 so that the 500 discount wouldn't qualify. We ended up selling on 800 because my own lawn guy was coming in a few days to give me a quote. They had multiple workers so I figured it would get done quickly. They came the next day and did the very good and quickly. The problem is they left all the debris right up front for everyone to see for days. Never said when they would return to remove it. HOA allowed only 48 hours to remove the debris so I had to pay a fee and then hire someone else to remove the debris. I unfortunately, disregarded other people's negative reviews about this company. Please do not do business with this company. They can rush right over to get your business then disappear and hide from you. Notice that they do not have their address on the flyers. Only a phone number and a bunch of lies. They are not on Google and they have a very low score on BBB of only 1.9. If you get a flyer in your mailbox, throw it away. If they had told me up front that they were not going to remove the debris the same day, I would have instructed them to dump it in the woods behind my house. But we're to busy trying to be deceitful. read more

I wanted to update my prior review, but could not find. I want to be fair and helpful. I had a great experience getting my trees cut down. On time, professional, safe and efficient. (5 stars) I paid them $2700 and they were supposed to pick up a huge pile of wood and debris that afternoon. It didn't happen that afternoon and four other promised days came and went. I thought I had been scammed. As it turned out they had equipment breakdown and did a poor job of communicating. They did show up after about two weeks and were polite, apologetic and thorough. I think this is a company of younger people who should learn to communicate better to reassure customers. I want to emphasize that the work they did was top notch and the crews that we dealt with were professional. I would recommend their work and suggest that you pay half after the cutting and the remainder after the haul away. read more

I tell you what, if you need any kind of tree service done on your property, this outfit is the folk's you need to call. They go far above and beyond what you ask of them. TERRIBLE COMPANY stay away! They cut down trees on people's property without permission because they're too stupid and lazy to get property line markings. If they are in your neighborhood be sure to stay home when they're around or you'll be missing trees when you get home. Pushy sales people. Asked us FOUR TIMES if we wanted their services each time we said absolutely not. Spanish speaking and pretend to not understand when homeowner is upset. Loud noises from 7 am to 9pm. Absolutely terrible company. read more

Well today is Monday. I really met some hard-working people no one was standing around usually you have one guy standing around but not with these. I was so impressed that I made sure they I had plenty to drink. The way the team pulled together and these wasn't small trees that they took down. Friendly people. And the price was unbelievable. My wife said you know they have all that heavy equipment I don't see how they could be cheap. Well that big equipment made a job look amazing. I'm 53 years old and I've never seen such awesome work they kept their word it's like they was never here other than the trees being moved and gone no debris left over no damage nothing I will definitely get the word out to people who's looking for tree work and I'll definitely be using these people once again. I used Cheap & Great Tree Service out of ASHEVILLE, NC. What can I say? They were fast. Took down six 100 ft. tall pine trees in about 2 1/2 hours. But don't expect them to clean up after. his company came by and destroyed my grass, Roses, sprinkler, my backyard. They left huge tree trunks in De creek behind my yard after I asked them to keep it clear due to county easement rules. They left tree trunks on my neighbor's property. Ruined my backyard with that little excavator, and left. Then I expressed my dissatisfaction with Mannie over De phone, he thought it was a good idea to call me a "Negra Puttah" guess he didn't realize he was on speaker phone with his colleague who handed me De phone. Horrible company horrible experience. Claimed they were self-insured and they are NOT. Caused an immense amount of property damage and we tried to contact the company, and they do not want to pay to fix to pay for the damage their heavy outdated equipment caused. I responded to an attractive flyer I received in the mail. I phoned at 9:20 a.m. and was told they would have someone out for a free quote within the next two hours. Salesman arrived an hour and 15 minutes later and I showed him the work to be done. His bid was CHEAP and then he gave me a veteran's discount AND a senior citizen discount. HE told me that they could get the work done within the next couple of days then things got better when a crew was dispatched and arrived at my house at about noon the same day. Crew arrived in very clean and attractive trucks including a trailered back loader and a GIANT limb 'eater'. They checked with me to verify what was to be done and got to work. Crew consists of about 8 VERY hard working guys in company uniforms. They were fast and efficient. Once the limbs, etc. were removed they left my yard MUCH cleaner than when they arrived including blowing all leaves, yard mess clear across the property where it was loaded on the truck. I was asked to inspect and told the supervisor that I was TOTALLY satisfied and handed him a check. They were gone by 1:30 and left me with a nice smile on my face. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. read more
