UPDATE 8/14 I…read morereceived the statement of work Wednesday AM (8/12) right before the project manager Gomer shows up. He comes by, expects me to have signed the SOW looks at the jobsite and doesn't say much. I told him I am going to need to wait until I can check on my computer and since PGE is cutting power I will have it tomorrow. I let him know I am not happy with how he is conducting business and I get the "I hear you" and "Trust me". I review the SOW and ask a number of questions. Some are basic, like when will the project start, when will the project complete, who is responsible for ordering and buying appliances, who is responsible for any damage to the items that have been left outside for months. A couple hours later Gomer calls me. I asked him if he reviewed by questions and he says no. He is busy driving around. I tell him to talk to his people and then we can talk. He takes offense to that and starts arguing with me I am being unreasonable and he calls all his customers. I said I didn't have time to shoot the shit and he needs to be prepared and review the questions. He says he is not calling to shoot the shit but he is also not calling to discuss the SOW since he hasn't reviewed it. Given on August 5th I made it clear I wanted all correspondence written since I didn't want a my word against his. He gets very argumentative and the call deteriorates into both of us yelling at each other. I made it clear to the office coordinator I did not walk to work with Gomer and whether they had anyone else. So right now the project is over a week late starting and waiting to hear their solution. These guys have all my furniture and belongings and have my life on hold but it obviously is of no concern. To be continued I figure.

Rat infestation in my garage (never had rats before so didn't know the proper process)…read more I had to dispose of half the items in my garage. Junk removal took care of that job & removed the rat poop. Then I called A2Z to clean everything assuming that's all I'd have to do. Last night I saw a giant rat run across my garage so now I've paid $3500 to hazmat clean the 1/2 my garage but still have a rat infestation. I'm now working with a rat removal service but before A2Z allowed me to hire them & get in contract they should have advised me to be sure to complete the proper step beforehand of ensuring the rat infestation was resolved. Now i'm out $3500 for an unnecessary garage cleaning and still have a rat infestation. As a new homeowner (or any homeowner) I'd assume a good business would make sure I've done the pre work (in this case rat infestation elimination) before accepting the job. That's in my view a shitty thing to have done to me as the client. Really disappointed because they seemed professional throughout the process. So for this reason of not holistically proactively making sure the proper prep was done I cannot rate this business any higher than a 2 star. I'm not angry I am however very disappointed and feel that I've been tricked. I cannot recommend this business.

Drew offered the lowest bid and a confidence that he and his team could get the job done to our satisfaction. Their work was outstanding! When we informed him that our travel schedule would delay their start until June, he was flexible. His team's thorough mold/ moisture remediation (removing the old moldy vanity, damaged moldy wallboard, and floor tiles) was completed in a week The remediation quickly received Satisfactory test results from SAFE, the environmental testing agency we independently hired. The restoration work then moved well with the replacing of sheet rock on the wall (where mold/moisture had been) but the laying of the replacement floor tiles was stalled when the team discovered that those tiles were slightly too short of matching the original 24"x12" floor tiles. To stick to our budget, we had opted to get the tiles on our own, not realizing that brands can differ in their tile sizing. This resulted in an unexpected interruption of the project for the PPR team while we found another tile brand true to size. Drew remained patient and flexible with us. The tile team did a beautiful job laying the new replacement tiles. After that, the last step was installing replacement vanity which was also done perfectly. I've never had to use a Water Restoration service before so I browsed trusty Yelp and reached out to Fire & Water Damage. Glad fellow Yelp friend Karen W gave a glowing review! They seem to answer calls 24/7 and I was able to schedule an appointment quickly. Mike was main point of contact and gave us an estimate and scope of work. Basically, they had to tear out the drywall and insulation from the wet area, dry and dehumidify the area for days, and then put on moon suits and remove any mold. We were able to have 2 techs come on a Friday and then let the dehumidifier run over the weekend. We also had to tear out our upper cabinet since the top was damaged by water. On Monday, they came back to remove any leftover mode and patch things up. The total price came in well below the estimate, which is a huge plus. Very happy with the service and efficiency. If you ever suspect you have water damage from leaks, call these guys and get the problem resolved to ensure mold doesn't form or worst, spread. Note that their services are purely restorative - they'll dry out the water-damaged area and get rid of all the mold. You'll need to hire a plumber first to stop the leaks and then afterwards, a drywall contractor to patch up the holes with insulation and new drywall followed by texturing and painting.

Nick recommended a de-humidifier to help with the moisture/dampness in the closet. He helped me choose the right equipment and installed it for me. A part broke on the de-humidifier and I called Nick to see if he could replace for me. Even though this is not there core services Nick made the time to repair and return the de-humidifier to me.
