Brandon has a great deal of knowledge about trees that is shared during his consult/estimate for any work. He doesn't SELL to line his pocket. My experience with him, he listens to concerns and provides answer regarding trees as to what to do, prune, cut down, leave alone. I have called upon Brandon's knowledge and maintenance to take care of my trees over the years (over 10 years). He is knowledgeable, trustworthily and honestly cares about my trees knowing how I feel about keeping them healthy and standing as long as possible (he knows I love my trees!). To owner Brandon Cheney, your company displayed such flagrant disregard & disrespect to our community, yes the same one in which YOU work & live, what a shame! Our neighborhood streets were being maintained by the city, barricades put up diverting traffic due to the scheduled slurry seal pavement project. When we saw your drivers physically removing barriers to get through the blocked street we begged them not to drive through .. explained it would ruin all the great work our city does, months of planning and thousands of dollars in road improvement cost. They STILL drove right through .. such incompetence & ignorance .. please take the time to properly train your tree climbers to learn how to back up your equipment. You are not above the law & you were obnoxiously rude when we attempted to talk with you. What an embarrassment & a disgrace you are to Clark County sir; please re-read your mission statement and try to live up to it. read more

We just purchased our home with 2 1/2 acres of forested land, and we are learning land management as we begin to work with our outdoor space. After extensive research, we decided to go with Brandon and his crew at Arbor Science. They mostly don't advertise; it's word of mouth, and let me tell you, I found a whole bunch of people that have used him for years, and are extremely happy (I hear their trees are also happy too). :-) First, Brandon did a through site survey with us, and took the time to not only tells us about the many species of trees we had on our property, but helped us to understand how natural drainage would work on our particular plot and also gave a really good explanation for why we would want to leave some areas natural. We got a great "bucket list" quote showing the costs if we were to do everything we wanted (so it gave us a really good idea of the price tag on our total vision), and then he worked with us to help us identify the most important items to do first. We plan to chip away (ha!) at our list of things we want to do, a bit at a time. What I really like is that we are establishing a long-term relationship with our land, and our arborist. We are the ultimate beneficiaries of managing our land and trees well, and Brandon will help us do that in a sustainable and ecologically friendly way. Not to mention working with us a bit at a time, as we can afford to have him out to work. As far as the work went, our crew was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. Their experience level was obvious. Brandon came out several times that day to make sure everything was going according to plan. Our two main trees (which are huge) closest to our home were the priority concern, as prior owners had not done a whole lot. They took their time, and got them both just right. With the job they did, we won't need another thing done to those particular trees for 3-5 years. The day went well, they were careful, everything was done safely, and the clean-up was perfect. I truly appreciate the ability to build a relationship with a top notch, certified arborist, who is passionate about what he does, and will help us to maintain one of our most important assets, our trees. read more

These guys are great! Brandon has done my trees on my property off Old Evergreen Highway, my In-laws in the Fircrest neighborhood and he did my trees in SE Portland. Brandon has done a great job every time. Some tree removal and trimming, and tree maintenance. He does it all, especially the tall Fir trees. And he knows his stuff, very knowledgeable in the way trees grow and the right maintenance. I will definitely call him again. read more

My husband and I cannot recommend Arbor Science Tree Service enough. We had a beautiful 35' deodar cedar tree in our yard and we noticed the tree shedding it's needles several months ago. It then began to put out new growth so we were hopeful. Brandon came out to see if there was any chance in saving this tree so he suggested giving it a month and see. It became very apparent it was not going to make it and so we gave Brandon a call. He came out within a couple days and confirmed it was beyond hope. They came today and took the tree down, quite the process to watch. We are very happy with the job Brandon and his crew did. They arrived to do the job right on time and were very conscientious about not damaging our fence and nearby rose bushes. They did a great job in the clean up and even hauled away the ridiculous amount of needles that had died and fallen on the nearby flower beds. We highly suggest you give Brandon a call if you need advice or need tree care. We could not be happier with them. read more

Brandon stopped by to help me with a tree risk assessment after my insurance company asked me to consult with a certified arborist. Wow. Brandon really knows trees and took the time to share his knowledge, explaining what he was observing and providing me tips for the future.
