Mike Scott and his crew have been taking care of my trees for many years now. They just came yesterday, and thinned out my live oak, as well as heightening up the lower branches so trucks could safely pass. They also cut back a tree overhanging my property in the back yard, from an easement. The crew is very efficient and courteous, and Mike the arborist is extremely good at explaining what needs to be done, and giving an accurate estimate. They totally cleaned up all of the debris from the tree trimming as well. I will continue to use them for years to come, and highly recommend them. read more

I was a Client of this Company for 10 years. Sadly they went from excellence to poor customer service. Last episode was me trying to have them come to my house for an update quote on trimming my oak tree. After a bit of difficulty getting them here (no communication inside the company staff regarding my calls and no flexibility by the staff to accommodate the Client schedule), they finally came and quoted the service which I agreed. They had said they would call the day before coming. Well they show up unannounced at my door two weeks ago on a Monday. It wasn't what they had said but I was able to talk to my neighbor about doing the work since they needed to trim the tree closer to my neighbor house. At the start of the job, I noted that they came totally unprepared and intended to do the job without protecting the HVAC units from all the debris coming from trimming wood pieces and branches. They were not prepared so I asked them to go. I had had enough. Do not recommend what this company customer service has become in the last 2-3 years. read more

This group does great work. Unfortunately, the wait is super long to get someone out to do the work not including the time it takes to get an estimate. If you'd like to get them out to your location plan on a 3-4 month lead time. Bummer. read more

We have a very mature live oak that has a lot of dead leaves on one side of it that are not dropping from the tree. We were concerned that we were losing it (in fact, pretty much accepted it), but wanted to be sure there wasn't an issue that would affect our other trees (we live on two acres and have about 60 mature trees on our property). I called and checked with a number of places asking about an arborist. Several said they'd send someone out the following day, right away, etc. When I pressed about whether or not they were sending a certified arborist, the answer was usually no, but I was told that they had 15, 20, etc., years of experience with trees. Although I'm sure some of those consultants probably know their stuff, we wanted a certified arborist, not just someone with "many" years of experience with trees and we were willing to pay for the consultation. Arbor Care Inc. heard me loud and clear and said they had an arborist who was available to come the following Monday at 11:30. I asked if he could bump the appointment to 12:30 so my husband could be in attendance, as well. They were very accommodating. The following Monday we met with Mike Scott, a certified arborist (who also has many years of experience), and were greatly encouraged when he told us that he saw what we was concerning us and was torn between saying the tree was dying vs. it was coming back from some sort of stress since he saw a number of large branches with dead leaves that had not dropped, but also saw new growth on part of the tree. He checked the tree carefully and said there was no disease. He spent time explaining a lot about live oaks to us. A thunderstorm was blowing in and at that time, a bunch of the dead leaves started to blow off the tree. He then pointed out that the tree was losing the leaves and told us that he thought our tree was going to make a recovery. He encouraged us to wait and watch until September. If we see more new growth, we will fertilize the tree to give it a boost and consider when it would be best to cut away the dead areas. He looked at the other trees surrounding it in back and said they all looked great and healthy. Price for all this? $0. Hopefully, we will be calling Mike back in September to come help us nurse this beautiful tree back to health. I am so grateful that he didn't recommend a ton of expensive treatments and is taking a more practical approach to all of this. I think we've found our new tree care team. read more

worse service ever. I scheduled them for an estimate and we ended up hiring someone else and guy started using inappropriate words loudly and left. I was just shocked as never seen this kind of service before. I would give less than 1 start if there is an option. Don't hire them specially if only lady is going to be at home. read more

These people are awesome. I have consulted wtih them a few times over the last 5 years. A few times they gave me advise and didn't even charge me! They have actually come out and said my trees did not need trimming and that I should wait until the next year. They are not out for a buck. They are professional people who care about their profession and doing a good job. So glad I found them! Oh, their prices are very reasonable. read more

We had what looked like a fungus on one of our live oak trees. Can't lose one of those! Researched arborists servicing West Houston and found Arbor Care which had great reviews! Made an appointment. The arborist, J. T. O'Keane, came on time, inspected the tree and told me the growth on the tree was a harmless fungus and nothing to worry about. He even walked around our yard and looked at our other trees and confirmed they all looked healthy and well-pruned. Wow! He made no money on this trip but I appreciated that he was so honest. I will definitely call this company for future needs as I know now they can be trusted. read more

We had this company service 3 Bottlebrush trees in early Aug. 2015. John J. (service guy) said our trees had a fungus as 1 had brown leaves. Immediately, about 2 weeks after their treatment, the healthiest tree (one in middle) began dying off. It was lush and green and it was not the tree we had them come out to look at. Our middle tree is now completely dead. We had them come back out repeatedly to examine as we witnessed the demise of the tree. We had to call and email repeatedly to have them listen to us and to force a phone call with Garret R., another service person as John J. suddenly became 'invisible'. Garret R. told us that Arbor Care will do right by us. They had tests done at a lab (they submitted the samples themselves, I observed Kurt C. ( yet another service guy) taking samples of the 1st tree (which was indeed infected with fungus). The lab came back with--surprise!--a fungus infection. We knew that the 1st tree had a fungus, that is why we called Arbor Care in the 1st place. We, however, do believe, that Arbor Care's treatment of ALL of our trees resulted in the catastrophic death of our middle tree (which was the healthiest tree). It has now been 5 months, they have refused to refund us our $238.00 we have paid for them to do more harm than good to our trees. According to Kurt C. "he's sorry for our loss" but he believes that the middle tree was too far gone with a fungus before they treated it. He has refused to reimburse us for our costs. We will now have to pay even more to get this tree removed and replaced. I will submit before & after photos to show our 3 trees and you can be the judge of just how "far gone" that middle tree was before they treated. Arbor Care lacks good customer service. They lack in prompt & professional communications with us and their staff--Kurt C., Garret R. and John J were such examples. I would never recommend Arbor Care! read more

We chose Arbor Care Inc because they said all the right things when they came to give us a quote...the right insurance, would protect our A/C unit, fix any ruts in the ground etc... The day they came there were 2 workers. As one was working up in the tree the other one had his hands cupped and his face was pressed against my window surveying the inside of my house. I was not impressed and he continued until he saw me looking at him. We took this up with Arbor Care but they didn't seem to care! Also they were supposed to cover our new A/C unit so not to damage it when taking the tree parts away. They never did this and now we have a brand new A/C unit with tons of scraps and scratches on it. Again we brought this to their attention and they did not seem to care. The next thing to happen was the tree grinder did not show up when he was supposed too and when he did the tree guys from the other day had taken all the flags out of the ground marking the utility lines, hence he cut the line. When we asked for some sort of compensation for all our grief we got nothing. I would not recommend this company! read more

After 2 letters and over one week later, we finally heard from the owner of this establishment. He proceeded to lecture my mother on how to drive and denied any responsibility (rude). He stated that the truck was not even partially blocking her driveway even though he wasn't even there. Well, they won't be hired for any work by that HOA again; nor will they be hired to work at my 90 townhome complex where I sit on the board. read more

Forget these people, I made an appointment after agreeing to an estimate agreed to a time and day, they called the day before confirming they were coming out. I needed to talk with the arborist before they came out and he was supposed to call me back and never did. I called the receptionist to make sure they were still coming and she said they were on the way that was 2pm they were supposed to come at 1pm at 4:30 I called the office again she didn't know anything or why they had not showed up then I asked to speak with the manager . . . they had cancelled but never told me, never called me. I wrote an email and a hard copy letter and no one ever got back with me no apology. NOTHING Wasted my whole day and nothing. read more

I had Arbor Care Inc come out to give me an estimate on removing 2 dead Queen palms, 3 other large palms, and 30 Oleander trees. Johnny gave me an estimate much lower than a local landscaping company. The men showed up on time to cut down all the trees and hauled them away. They were courteous and cleaned up the place. A few days later, the stump grinders showed up and got their job done efficiently. I reported a couple of problems to Johnny (which they are not liable for), but he took care of it immediately. I think they are reliable, responsible, and offer a more than fair price for service. Plus they trimmed my front yard trees at no extra charge. Another Important thing is they have General liability insurance, worker's compensation, and vehicle insurance is carried at all times.
