I have seen and been to quite a few nursing homes. I've had a family member staying at one as well. The contrast is stark between Ararat Home and other places. There is a reason why it's rated top ten in the nation (number 1 in the state of CA for two years in a row). As someone who has studied structured environments, I can really appreciate the way things are set up there. The care and response are immediate. They give residents freedom and options for their activities. It's clean and no smells (unlike other places). They'll listen to your feedback and take it into consideration. Therapists are great! And again, I can't stress enough, that unlike another place, workers can fully handle him without asking for your help to turn or roll him over while changing diapers. I can be nothing but grateful for a place like this where you can rest assured that your loved ones are in good hands without you having to monitor things 24/7. Whenever someone, anyone, says anything negative about this place, I encourage them to name a better place where they would want their loved ones to be transferred to. Because I honestly can't imagine a better place for my family member or for myself, when the time comes.

He's walking with a walker, progressing daily, and finally getting the care he needed all along. The administrator at Mountain View, Joji D. Gervacio, once told me coldly and confidently that "this was his life now," meaning he was literally bedridden and couldn't do anything. She said that was his life and he was incapable of recovery. Two months later, she was proven completely wrong. If we had accepted her words, I truly believe my dad would not be where he is today. This review is to say: Don't take everything they say as final. Don't give up hope. And if you get a call from that administrator, stay sharp, ask questions, and trust your instincts.

Not only am I a patient here in the past I worked in a managerial position for 7 years in the healthcare industry. I left a Skilled Nursing Facility that I resided in for 4 years to move to Mountain View convalescent center after receiving several recommendations from friends and acquaintances in the medical field. it's unfortunate that in life that we may end up needing assistance but having these facilities is a blessing if they're run properly. I feel very fortunate and blessed to have found Mountain View to help me through my journey, so for those who are looking to place a loved one you might consider looking at this facility. Liking business there are those that are successful and some that fail it usually starts at the top ownership, management, employee, dedication it seems this day and age that's very hard to find. It becomes very evident after talking or exploring the history of this facility that you might find that the owners and the management and the employees have this dedication to serve and to care, I say this because it is truly very hard to find, why I don't have an answer to that. Unfortunately we don't always plan our end of life very well and when an emergency happens there isn't much time for planning, where do you go what do you do? I'm only asking that you might consider looking at this facility first because of all the very unique qualities this facility has to offer. Not only do they offer skilled nursing care, but they also offers subacute, and they've worked for years to get licenses in place to be able to do in-house dialysis care. This is truly a journey that most owners do not want to go through because of the time and cost to be able to offer multiple patient care. There is more and I am here to answer any questions you may have. There is Love , caring spirit, professional services to not only hear but to help educate and meet your needs!Blessings Vincent Strebe

The rooms are generous in size and wheelchair-friendly, and many have beautiful views of the courtyard and small private patios for mini gardens. There is a restaurant-style dining room serving up award-winning meals--and ample desserts! The activity and living rooms have a cozy, family feel, and there is always something going on in the way of games, fun exercise classes, lectures, movie showings, field trips, and special events. The greatest asset, of course, is the patient and caring staff of the family-owned facility. Community Relations Director Jonathan is warm and welcoming. Health Services Director Laura is professional and generous with her time. Javier the Dining Services Director takes pride in his cuisine. The caregivers are loving and nurturing, and they keep lines of communication open. But perhaps the best indicator of the quality of The Gardens is how happy the residents are. They extol the virtues of the place with no prompting. (One woman said she'd tried five different facilities, and this was the best.) They're eager to welcome new residents into the family--by the third day, lunch-goers were calling my mom by name to sit at their table. As with most assisted living places, there is a sliding scale of services based upon need, and when a transition to a higher level of care is required, Safe Haven offers memory care with a higher caregiver-to-patient ratio. Safe Haven is safe and secure, with its own small garden and dining area. Caregivers encourage residents to spend most of their day in activities with others rather than remaining isolated in their rooms. I'm delighted I found this new home for my mom. The Community Director Jonathan gave us a tour and was treated by the residents like an adored rock star as we walked through the halls - making introductions with residents, explaining the extensive amenities, along with the robust calendar of daily activities for residents to participate in.
