We are so worries about our mother and have been visiting her constantly. Every single time they both are there to help with the outmost respect to us and our mother. The nurses are sweet and try their best. It has been so hard on us since we have no experience in taking care of a Dementia Patient, but John and Denise tried their best to make this transition as easy as possible. I cant thank them enough for being there for us and while the future is unknown, just knowing the staff and management are trying their best to make this journey as easy as humanly possible. From the moment she arrived, the care was superb. The large and well-trained staff treated her as if she were a member of their family. From the administrators through the medication specialists through the wound nurses through the nursing assistants, the Northridge team was warm, totally professional and extremely patient. Pain management was excellent, and the nursing assistants were always available to ensure our mother's comfort. The physical therapy and occupational therapy is outstanding, and again, very patient. They tailored their routines to our mother's capabilities and always exhibited the utmost warmth and care. My brother and I were overprotective of our mother, and we could leave at the end of the day knowing she was in a caring and completely safe environment. One thing I am grateful for is one of my nurses, James an LVN that does meds. He is always gracious and kind. He is excellent at following through with doctor appointments, getting them scheduled, checking on transportation and always does it with kindness, respect and a smile! I also was lucky to get the best Care Partner, (CNA). Emma takes great care of her patients. She is always ready to help or let me do it myself if I can. She has encouraged me all the way throughout this challenge.

The staff here is amazing, they don't just do their jobs (and they do them well) they are all very kind, supportive and loving toward her. This is a woman who would not leave her apartment, slept until noon, getting her to get dressed was a big task but her nature is social. She was famous in her youth and a singer / dancer. I could not believe that she was up and out of her room (DRESSED) by 8am and didn't return until after 5PM on day 2. EVERY SINGLE DAY she is kept active, she's singing with the pianist, playing bingo, watching movies, doing arts and crafts AND they told me she was participating in the morning walk! One of the ladies there sent me a video of her singing with the pianist today - she is in her element. Her Doctor comes to her every month (more if she needed him). I was weary that they would not be able to get her out of her room and get her dressed. AvantGarde has surpassed my expectations. I can travel without worry, I can visit her without me being the caretaker, I can rest easy knowing she is having a great time and in loving, capable hands.

Based on direct knowledge and firsthand accounts, I have serious concerns about how residents are being treated. One resident I know personally was not properly cared for after a fall. After that incident, she was reportedly not assisted with meals or monitored to ensure she ate for three days. Her room has flooded twice, and because of how often this happens, it reportedly smells of mold, which raises serious health concerns. After the second flood, she was abruptly dismissed from her room so it could be cleaned and was not allowed to gather her phone, shoes, or any personal belongings. She was sent out in the middle of December wearing only sandals and no sweater. This showed a complete lack of concern for her safety, comfort, or dignity. What is most disturbing is the lack of empathy. This is a facility entrusted with the care of vulnerable seniors, yet the focus appears to be convenience and profit rather than basic human compassion. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS FACILITY!!!! Please choose another place. No one's loved one deserves to be treated this way.

Ruzanna notifies me if there are concerns with my mom's health, and I have access to the nurse who comes to check on the patients. Meals: My mom no longer wears her dentures, so the caretakers make soft foods for her meals. They also take the time to make customized meals for the other elderly residents. Home: The home is clean and spacious for those with walkers, although my mom now primarily uses a wheelchair. The yard is big, and everyone enjoys having lunch together outdoors. Ruzanna and her team goes above and beyond; they even went all out for my mom's 82nd birthday. She consistently sends me pictures of my mom, which I am so very thankful for. They are also very welcoming and always ready with coffee or treats for visitors. I highly recommend a tour.

I live about 4 miles from Courtyard and when possible, I visit David. This visit, I made it a point of joining David for lunch, since I used to be Food Service Director in many Los Angeles facilities. So this was my main focus today, Friday July 11. And what a wonderful experience it was! Earlier, at the reception desk, I paid a $10 fee for lunch and it was well worth it. There were two entrees to choose from but before being served, a nice waitress, Gisele, came by and asked what we would like to drink. I chose Cranberry juice & David chose a tea. Within a few minutes, we were first offered a beautiful salad with a choice of dressing. After that, we were offered a choice of two entrees. David chose the fully loaded Hot Dog with sweet potato fries. I chose the Clams Alfredo. Both turned out well prepared and delicious. We enjoyed the delicious Lunch and each others company.
