This is after I received an email it was ready. I drove the 45 minutes to pick it up, so wasted trip. I asked if they could ship it for free after not having item ready and being defective. But after the lack of consumer service after an issue I would not go back.

Run, don't walk, to Board & Brush! ...Actually, you have to register to come in so do that first…read moreand then run haha ...but my point is, pay this place a visit sooner rather than later! It's a gem! It has a parking lot - I really appreciate when I don't have to struggle with where to park. It's in a hip building that has cool graffiti-style art on the hallway walls. Once inside, Board & Brush is beautifully set up with examples all over the walls- that was helpful for us to see different color combinations for inspiration. The owner, Buffy, and her assistant, Lisa, were there to welcome and instruct our group of 6 gals - and they did it all with smiles and good cheer! Board & Brush offered 800+ projects to choose from so 2 of our ladies did the same thing and the rest of us chose different projects. There were also 2 other customers that came together separate from our group and they also had two unique projects. Buffy and Lisa walked all 8 of us through everything, every step of the way. We first distressed our wood with a variety of tools, then we stained it, put on stencils and painted, and then waxed our pieces. Let me tell you, they have amazing choices and we were all so pleased with our projects They ranged from charcuterie boards to centerpiece boxes to signs to wall hangings - all very high end looking! We were allowed to bring food so we set up our appetizers on a different table and enjoyed a perfect night of crafting, grazing on apps and spending time talking and laughing. I loved it! The business is new to the area and is open for individual crafters like us, as well as business team-building outings, birthday parties, bridal parties, etc. I can't wait to go back!

Now that the pandemic is "over" in that the libraries are reopened for browsing and study, I had a…read morechance to check out this pretty amazing library. Modern, open, airy. None of the stuffiness that you might expect from a classic library. With open stacks and lots of well organized books, this is a bright and clear space. There are a bunch of study desks along the huge windows. Most of them have power outlets nearby which is helpful because the library also has a free and unfiltered wifi. While you do need to be a resident to borrow books, no account is needed for Internet access. I found two or three books I liked, taking two of them to a comfy seat to ensure that they were what I wanted. Checkout is super easy and completely unattended. I'm very pleased with this branch! The kid area isn't that big but does seem to be about 1/3 of the library. They don't have a lot of dress up or play areas but they have a lot computers. We had a large group so we had to double up on the computers. I found some good books to check out and a few movies also. The staff was pretty helpful but even though they are on the other side of the computers they seem be a little ways away from the kids area. The restroom is on the other side of the branch away from the kids area. The branch is clean and was very quiet. It was a rainy day during our visit. My wife and I spent an early birthday celebration at The Foodie School for their sushi-making class, and somewhere between the sticky rice, sharp knives, and the quiet panic of trying not to destroy a roll in front of strangers, we had an unforgettable night. The evening wasn't some stiff cooking demonstration where you nod politely while a chef talks at you for two hours. This was hands-on, messy in the best way, and surprisingly intimate. We made an appetizer that looked like something from a downtown izakaya, rolled two different styles of sushi, and finished with matcha ice cream that tasted clean, earthy, and just indulgent enough to make you pause for a second before the next bite. Chefs Mara & Elon struck that rare balance between knowledgeable and approachable. No ego. No culinary theater. Just people who genuinely love food and want you to love making it too. And that's really what made the night work. Food wasn't treated like content for Instagram. It was treated the way it should be: as a shared experience. A little chaotic, a little imperfect, and far more satisfying because you made it yourself. If you're looking for a different kind of date night in Rock Hill -- one where you leave full, slightly proud of yourself, and smelling faintly of soy sauce and sesame oil -- this is the place.
