It said online it could take a couple days to get approved , but we had no problems just bringing him and his vaccinations. They seem strict about seeing vaccination history so I knew he would be safe and not get sick from other dogs! The check in process was quick and easy! Since it was not the best weather wise, it was only us and one other group there, but a friend said it does get crowded but never too crowded! They had a ton of picnic tables outside and beach volleyball courts. They have 2 sections outside, one is off leash and one is on leash. Inside is also on leash, so some options there! The bar is accessible no matter what section you are in, and they had a full bar. There were also some TVs inside with sports on. The facility seemed SO clean for a dog bar, I was impressed by that. The bartenders were also SO nice asking about our dog and his breed and making sure we had everything we needed. The facility seemed secure with lots of doors and magnetic locks so no dogs could escape. They did have brunch and it was delicious!!! I got the avacado toast. The egg was a tad salty but still very good! I would definitely go back!

One downside was learning that pets are not allowed inside--even though they don't serve food--which is always a bit of a letdown for us. That said, Luna was welcome on the outdoor patio... unfortunately, it was about 20 degrees outside. We didn't let the cold ruin the experience, though. They have patio heaters and warm drinks available, which helped a lot. We grabbed comfy outdoor chairs right next to the Christmas tree, and the setting was really nice, especially with the water view just steps away. It never got overly busy, but there was a steady flow of people coming and going, which gave it a relaxed, lively feel without being crowded. We both ordered the Hardywood Gingerbread Stout (9.2% ABV), which was their only holiday beer available at the time--they mentioned they had another seasonal option but had already sold out. The beer was pretty good, though definitely strong. We actually left to check out the only other bar in town, but it turned out to be closed, so we circled back to The River Room for another round. Two gingerbread stouts came out to $14 total which felt very reasonable. They do charge a small membership fee (around $1) since it's a private club, and we were told that fee goes toward animal conservation, which is a nice bonus. Overall, despite the cold and the indoor pet restriction, we really enjoyed the ambiance, holiday decor, and relaxed vibe--and would definitely stop back again when the weather is warmer.

We had an excellent Server, Heather who said she had been there about 3 years and liked it. We even got a welcome visit from Christian the GM, she was very pro! She was real nice and kept the re-fills coming with being asked! I would highly recommend this place for breakfast or lunch, they do brunch on Weekends and they strongly recommend a reservation. Downtown Belmont is buzzing ya'll! Check it out!

This visit didn't ruin Jekyll & Hyde for me--but it definitely confirmed that consistency is not…read moretheir strong suit. I'd been here once before late night in the taproom with the smaller bar menu. That experience was fine. Not amazing, not bad--decent food, decent drinks, decent service. Very low-key and very different from this visit. So when we were nearby again before heading out to see Christmas lights, it felt like an easy, familiar option. Unfortunately, this time was a completely different story. Service was extremely slow from the start. It took nearly 30 minutes just to get drinks and an appetizer, and water refills were basically nonexistent. I eventually got up and refilled our water myself while watching the server refill other tables. We were there for almost 2.5 hours, which felt excessive given the pace and crowd level. Food was all over the place. Three meals had to be sent back. My BLT showed up with maybe two strips of limp bacon, soggy toast, wilted lettuce, and red peppers instead of the onions I asked for. Rather than remaking it, they just brought out two more equally limp strips of bacon. Two burgers ordered medium/medium-rare came out well done--even though the menu clearly shows doneness levels with photos, which made that miss even more confusing. On the bright side, the potato soup was excellent--probably the best thing we had--but it arrived lukewarm after a long wait. Other dishes like the scallops, Cajun Alfredo, and chicken sandwich were genuinely good, which just added to the confusion. A manager did drop off food and briefly acknowledge the issues, but there was no real apology or follow-up. I don't expect comps, but with this many problems and slow service, the lack of accountability was noticeable. Used plates from appetizers and sides that were clearly finished sat on the table for most of the meal. When dishes were cleared, the server often asked people who were still actively eating rather than removing the empty or stacked plates that were ready to go, which only added to the overall lack of attention and awareness. Between the inconsistent food, very slow service, and an overall lack of attention to detail, this visit just didn't work. It seems like one of those places where you might get a great meal--or you might spend hours wondering what went wrong. For now, it's firmly in the meh, proceed with caution category for me.
