Jackie here... in person to share the truth. I take great pride in my program and my personal professionalism. It is sad to see negative reviews among our glowing reviews knowing the full stories behind them. As consumers, it's important to know the facts: A woman in our program has posted here a complete fabrication regarding the circumstances around her child cutting his foot. What actually happened was this. She was in the restroom changing her two children (both boys). She was still in the restroom with one of them when she sent the other child barefoot and alone out into the hallway to make his way to the pool. The little boy pulled the first door open onto his foot and cut it. The second door to access the pool is about 8 feet away.My staff and the other families present were all in the pool enclosure on the other side of the second door. Multiple witnesses including staff and other families saw this. My deck attendant immediately brought him into the pool area, sat him down, cleaned his cut, and bandaged it. Eventually his mom came out of the restroom and realized what had happened. She took him to the ER for stitches. Per our policy and procedures, for safety's sake, children are not to be unattended while in the facility. We also ask parents to have children use footwear outside of the pool area. Had either of these guidelines been followed the poor little guy wouldn't have cut his foot in the first place. We did indeed help the family make up the classes he missed and they did attend their makeup classes after he was cleared to swim again. There had been multiple issues with non compliance of policy and protocol outside of this incident mounting over the time they were with us. It was actually a few months after this incident, when I did indeed have to dismiss the family from our program and incidentally I did refund them unused lessons at that much later date. Their dismissal had nothing to do with this poor little guy cutting his foot. It was a combination of multiple incidents with non-compliance to policies and procedures. Over ten years of exemplary service, with an impeccable reputation for professionalism, sadly there have been rare occasions where I did need to dismiss a family from the program. It takes quite an exceptional set of multiple circumstances for me to ever arrive at that decision, but sadly it does happen. Another review represented here is from a family who never paid an unpaid balance on their account. He had missed several classes, and the makeup times I had for him didn't fit his schedule. I suggested perhaps he wait and do the makeups when the kids resumed swimming in the fall. It was apparent he had not paid his final balance in lieu of scheduling makeups.The third review here was from a woman who's four year old daughter was physically punching, kicking, pulling hair and spitting pool water into the face of my instructor. After three lessons the instructor showed me she was going home weekly with bruises and the child was not responding to verbal redirection. This is a master instructor with decades of teaching and coaching experience. In the last lesson she had the little girl do a :05 timeout. Mind you on that day and the week prior, her classmate was absent so she was having essentially a private lesson. The mom called me the same day to complain that she would not permit a time out as she was paying valuable money for lessons. I assured her I understood and was also trying to make sure her child would get a quality lesson by trying to redirect the behavior. I asked the mom sincerely to let me know what method of discipline she used at home to see if we could find something else that would work as I couldn't allow the child to continue physically hurting the instructor. She simply said we need to figure it out ourselves. With a very soft tone (I don't raise my voice) I explained to her that I was at an impasse if we couldn't agree on the use of timeouts when multiple verbal directions were not working and she couldn't offer us another method of keeping her child's behavior under control during a lesson. I did very politely explain with no other option I couldn't have her daughter return to class and I refunded her unused lessons. It was sad to see Yelp's response when I called them about these false reviews. They simply said nothing could be done. From there I sent an email to all of our current customers inviting them to also share their reviews of our business on Yelp. Naturally tons of glowing reviews poured in. Yelp marked them as unreliable simply because them came in during the same week or two. I challenged Yelp to confirm the veracity of each one and offered to let them contact my customers directly to verify each one. They declined saying that was not their protocol. Responding to Darci B.'s one star review: Allow me to correct the record. While lessons had been paused during the 2020 shut down, every single customer was given a full tuition credit. All families were then able to apply those credits whenever they felt comfortable resuming classes once everything re-opened. We simply were unable to refund tuition at the initial moment when the covid shut down first occurred. This was purely out of compassion for our instructional team we all love, in order to continue the instructors' paychecks to help them financially even though we were closed. Once the covid shut down ended, we then emailed all of our students to invite families back to resume lessons. Upon returning everyone had the option to start up again and use every bit of their tuition credits. Understandably, some folks wanted to wait a bit longer before resuming their children's activities and some families requested a refund. Indeed, we did refund anyone who asked for a refund. Perhaps you never saw our email notification? Since covid, for over two years now we have been very flexible with families in many ways with regard to covid-related issues. We have not applied even one late fee to a single customer's account this entire 2+ year timeframe because we recognize, many folks are still dealing with hardships. Families who missed excess classes due to covid were also assisted with additional makeup classes beyond what is normally permitted. With regard to our pool location change back in 2019, we were saddened and just as surprised as anyone else to learn about the issue with the Bartonsville hotelier Upon learning the news, we had immediately reacted and cancelled lessons at that facility until another facility could be arranged. Currently we are using two lovely hotels in Stroudsburg: The Hampton Inn on 8th Street and the Holiday Inn on Main Street. Unless perhaps Darci may have opted out of receiving our emails or perhaps a spam filter may be filtering our mail, otherwise, I assure you, we did notify everyone at each step along the way. I very rarely use Yelp and only just now saw this older review, regardless, I certainly want to take the time here to correct the record. I have also just telephoned Darci inviting her to give us a ring for further assistance. We are a family business with a lot of heart. I hope in taking the time to read this note, you can see, we are indeed compassionate, flexible and fair with our customers. My son Kacper had a bad experience with a class in a past.This school was recommend by a friend as a good one.She was right, we love instructor Brian,the class are fun and my son keep asking about more.Its a pleasure to go there and see your kids learning.Everything is the way i was expected and those 2:1 class works becaue within 30 minutes he is involved a lot in activity and learnig.We love our instructor,but we share swimming pool with advance class and the other instructor looks same professional.I can see they both love what they are doing and they do it with passion.We started a month ago but i am sure we will continue for a long time from now,just added another half an hour to his week schedule.Thank you Aquadics Academy for making my son to enjoy class again . read more

Jackie and her staff are extremely knowledgeable, professional and wonderful with the kids! Jackie has always taken the time to answer any of my questions! My son was extremely nervous going into the water and immediately trusted his instructor and is making wonderful progress! I also love the fact that she is extremely particular with who she hires and there is only 2 Kids with each instructor and never more than four kids in the pool at a time. We were glad we switched to Aquatics Academy, after first trying other programs. We especially love the two student to one teacher ratio... my daughter really thrived with the attention her instructors gave her. She gained confidence in the pool, learned and refined her strokes, and enjoyed every lesson. She has since 'graduated' out of the program and is currently on a competitive swim team. Our younger child has now started with Aquatics Academy and we look forward to watching her grow as a swimmer as well. read more

Our grandson has been a student of Aquatics Academy since August of 2015.For the greatest amount of that time his teacher has been a gentleman who goes by PJ. He is a dedicated swimming teacher and my grandson loves him. He takes the time to talk to the kids and he has unlimited patience. He is himself an excellent swimmer and he uses this ability to demonstrate the proper technique to the kids. Definitely the best program around! Phenomenal instructors and the owner is super accommodating, always responsive, professional, and friendly. We have a tricky schedule and Jackie was terrific in helping us accommodate makeup classes as needed. We are so thrilled to have found them. Pool facility is lovely and inviting. While it may not have a locker room (who likes locker rooms anyway) they have family style restrooms for easy changing right next to the pool. Love these guys! read more

Happy to recommend this school. I'm an older beginner and needed someone with a lot of patience. The level of professionalism and talent of these teachers is wonderful. I've tried in the past to learn to swim and had some difficulty when classes where classes were too large and the pool too cold. This class was only two people and the pool was nice and warm! The Aquatics Academy offers a wonderful swim program. My 4 year old has been going for some time now, and I've been extremely impressed with the quality of teachers, particularly Mr. Bryan and Ms. Adiana. My daughter really loves her swim lessons and is progressing well. The instructors' patience and skill in teaching the little ones has been really amazing, and they seem to really enjoy what they do.
