Often, it is hard for me to give a one star review to any business. However, in this case I wish I could give even less than one star. Always positive first (if I must): We used this pool company last year as first time pool owners for some basic maintenance as we got use to having a pool and what we needed to do. They answered our calls, showed up for appts on time, and helped us out as we needed it. Prices for things were relatively the same as other pool companies. So why not use them again this year? Sure gladly.... Let's schedule a pool opening.... However, this year has been a complete 180 from our previous experience and why I felt the need to let all of Yelp know............ BEWARE! Absolutely a horrible experience. We had an appointment for a pool opening from over a month ago. A few days before our appt, the office calls and cancels due to "being behind from the weather". Mind you they tell us this right before a heat wave. Great, thanks a lot, not happy but willing to be flexible and work with them for another date. Next date given was for 3 days later..... but it gets WORSE..... NO SHOW, and NO CALL!?!? We tried calling them mid day and evening to get a time frame for when they would be coming...... no answer, no call back from our two messages. Next day no call back either... I called one final time and left a voicemail stating my frustration. It was then and only then that I got a call back. I was told that "we don't call you if they can't show up" ????? and that "I should expect that they will just come the next day".....Really in what world does a business think they can operate that policy in? And mind you they never came. Final answer: Onto another pool company..... but to find one with an opening right now?? Thanks Aquatic Technologies for nothing but a headache and waste of our time. Take heed from our experience and check out the other poor reviews recently here on Yelp and Google..... this business and their practices are completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Installed my pool last year. Won't finish job That is paid for. I have huge wrinkles in liner, rocks popping through liner, globs of Something under the liner by seats, and air pockets behind corners of the liner. One skimmer basket doesn't work and the outlets don't have eyes to aim the water so the pool is constantly filthy. Shawn won't return my messages and when he does he tells me he's too busy to come and has to look at the schedule. I've been asking since April. I also don't know how to use the chlorinated or program the expensive filter he convinced me to get that keeps my pool completely filthy 24/7. read more

Stay away from this company! They keep charging us to clean up our pool for the season but actually never showed up. Never did any water testing. Our pool is now a green swamp with tadpoles. Their customer service is terrible and they almost never answer the phone or respond to emails. I am sure Shaun is very busy, but it is a terrible business practice to charge customers and not provide the service they paid for. read more

Either this business is shut down or is the most unprofessional - we have a pool servicing contract - they dont show up, their voice mailbox is full (i've left at least 3 voicemails) and wont respond to email. only rational explanation is they've closed shop. read more

Shaun is out of business. He took our money, charged me for the whole summer, and just stopped showing up. He charged me for a filter replacement, and then disappeared. Take your money elsewhere. He doesn't even have the guts to let his customers know he can't service them and refund their money. Clearly something is going on, but it is just bad business. read more

Awful company! Despite having a contract for work with specific dates scheduled EIGHT months in advance, Shaun did not show. Communication was non existeny, follow up was equally awful, and absolutely no information provided. ultimately had to hire someone else to open the pool. read more

Long time customer of Shaun. Closed my pool every year for the last 10 years or so. If you have a cleaning contract or openings and closings he's okay. I bought a pool heater from him, mice got into it and he told me to call an electrician. Also told me there is nothing you can do about mice getting in to a pool heater. Wasted several weeks waiting for Shaun to respond after he told me he supposedly ordered parts. I don't understand why he would leave me hanging like that. Got another reputable pool maintenance company to look at it. They replaced the transformer and put screens in the areas to help prevent the mice from getting in. read more

Brought in a new pool guy and just after two days our pool is sparkling! Why it took Shaun 3 months to keep our pool cloudy is beyond me, do not use aquatic technologies. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would. First I thought they were out of business and then I realized that they just don't care and their concept of customer service is "don't give customer service". They closed my pool last year after promising me that they would be on time all the time. That went fine. The pool opening this year went fine. I signed up for twice a month service. First few weeks - no show. Called with a problem and the young lady on the phone gave me advice and it all worked. I inquired when they would be showing up for the regular maintenance I contracted for and she said they would schedule. Have not heard from them for a month now! I had a problem with the automatic chlorinator - called, couldn't leave a message because the mailbox is full. Called, called, called, no answer. Emailed - got a response after a few days and asked for a photo of the chlorinator. Emailed it right away. Emailed again - no response. Emailed again - no response. Emailed again - no response. Called - no answer. Either they are out of business or they just don't care. Avoid at all costs. Finally had to call another pool company to provide service. read more

Shaun stepped in when another company failed us. We were beside ourselves and, to be honest, were a demanding account with high expectations because of the shoddy treatment by a pool liner place in Waterbury. Shaun was responsive, an EXCELLENT communicator and set realistic expectations. Due to a manufacturing issue over the 4th holiday, those expectations were interrupted and Shaun did everything within his power to accommodate our need and keep us happy. Ultimately, the issue was resolved and they did a beautiful job installing our new liner. I would suggest a new pool water source - or don't use Danbury city water - as the pool water looked swampy when it first went in which upset us, but Shaun took care to clarify it quickly (or robot vacuum def helped). Shaun will respond in a timely manner, is available on weekends and seems to truly care about keeping his customers happy - in this day and age, rarities that are much appreciated! We've only been in our home 7 years, but we've gone through 3 pool service companies before finding Aquatic Technologies and we couldn't be happier. There have been a few times when we've had to call him on the weekend and he's immediately come over to take care of the issue. He maintains the chemical balance of the pool perfectly.
