My Jandy TruClear salt system was installed in April 2024 and failed just over two years later, still within Jandy's 3-year warranty. Ocean Blue informed me of the issue after a routine cleaning shift, but instead of helping get it handled as a warranty claim, they told me they're not an authorized Jandy warranty service station and that I need to deal with Jandy myself. Then, to rub salt in the wound, they quoted me $1,808.30 just to replace the salt cell. Not the whole system - just the removable cell! The cell takes 2 minutes to swap, it's just popping the cover and put it back. For perspective, the exact same complete Jandy TruClear 35K *whole system* (TRUCLEAR11K) is currently listed brand-new online for $1,379.99 shipped. I've been a Pool Troopers customer for more than 11 years and continued with Ocean Blue after the takeover, paying $160/month. I expected a lot better than being left to chase the warranty myself while being handed a ridiculous replacement quote. The ultimate irony is that Ocean Blue says in writing they're "not an authorized Jandy warranty service station," yet they're perfectly happy to charge me $1,808.30 for another Jandy cell. If the replacement fails under warranty, are they gonna tell me yet again that they aren't an authorized warranty station and send me somewhere else? Hopefully this warns other former Pool Troopers customers before they find out the hard way.

Used Bella Pool for about a year. Generally OK but two major problems. First, I had a leak from…read morebottom of filter. Bella sent their "repairman" to check it out. Told me he couldn't fix it and I needed a new filter unit ($3,000 - $5,000). Bowersox fixed it next day in thirty minutes for $100. More recently, a new pool tech was assigned. Within three weeks pool is full of green algae. Tech sells me $150 phosphate treatment and $150 new pool cartridge. Pool still looks awful. Hired Ahrens Pool - they come out and pool is sparking within 24 hours, I have to replace brand new pool filter cartridge that phosphate treatment ruined.

This was a company I was familiar with, so when Chris texted me out of the blue stating he was from "Ultra Pool Cleaning", I had no idea who he was. Was he representing the Water Club? Did they farm this work out to Chris? It was unclear to me. In the age of "splash and dash", I wanted to choose my pool maintenance company carefully and by reputation. That's why I went with the Water Club - based on reputation and past service experience. Chris Smith and his lack of follow-through and overpromising is not what I expected and not what I wanted. Did Chris realize his image was reflecting on the Water Club? Did the Water Club know? Probably not. Chris reached out to me, told me "how important the customer is to him" (self-described as a serial entrepreneur with his hands in a lot of pots) and assured me that he would take care of my pool. We scheduled a free consult for the next day. Honestly, a free consult was not expected - I would have gladly paid for his service. I expected to. Most customers would take reliability over gimmicks and business-speak. Just show up. If Chris' word meant anything, he would have arrived on a Saturday afternoon as we planned for the day before. If Chris' word meant anything, he would have confirmed and kept his promise and added me to his schedule as he mentioned he was going to do the night before. If Chris' word meant anything he would have answered a text sent mid-morning to nail down that afternoon time (since I didn't hear from him the night before as he promised). If Chris' word meant anything he would have actually showed up. Chris owes an apology to the next person he stands up in whatever business venture that brings him to. Chris needs to learn a hard business lesson. Word is king. Finish what you start, focus on the customer and show that you ACTUALLY care for the customer through your actions. Chris has a spiffy website for this business and does a bunch more pool equipment e-commerce sites. What's he doing trying to add weekly pool maintenance to such a list? Focus! My initial impression: avoid Ultra Pool Cleaning, avoid the gimmicks and tiers promised on the website and look for a company that shows a solid reputation, offers a simple plan and keeps their word. Also look for legitimate reviews and be wary of anyone who calls themselves the "No. 1 pool company in Sarasota" without a history to match. Lastly, don't be taken by fake reviews and someone who doesn't have the wherewithal to at least mask their name in case someone actually interacts with them and learns that said reviews are actually from themselves. There is no honor in pretending and not being a man of your word.

He charged 95$ dollars a month and my pool and patio looked like a toddler cleaned it. He broke my pool light and left it out in the sun to rot for 3 weeks and never fixed it. I had to buy the bolts to fix at Home Depot. We cancelled our services immediately. Also we had to buy our own products like chlorine to fix our pool after he destroyed it. See pics below. Found out he's only been cleaning pools since February with his company of one person. His word is no good... he's a liar! We are now with a different pool company and we are so happy!
