When you show up at the start station in Shouldice, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. We were given a safety talk, as well as the rules and expectations associated with using the company and the river. The rafting experience was fantastic. It took us about 2 hours to travel down, and was a gorgeous way to see the city. Once we arrived at the end check point, the staff were waving and smiling, directing us where to go. We simply dropped off our raft and carried on with our day. Very hassle free! We had such a great time! Ravi and his team consistently went above and beyond with their customer service. I cannot say enough good things about them and highly recommend that you use them when floating the Bow!

This is more than just a rental shop...the facility also has a well-used climbing wall. Another aspect to this place is the wide assortment of courses on offer, from beginner climbing, to snowshoe intro, to paragliding, to organized sea kayaking trips on the West Coast. Here is what he has to say about the place: I took my AST1 with splitboard HQ last year. It was extremely well taught and Simon kept it interesting and fun. I've had parts break on my bindings and the guys there have been super prompt in helping me out as I live in Edmonton. They have kayaking activities in the summer but I don't know much about that. All in all the their customer support is a 10/10 , their knowledge on the back country, tools, tips and tricks is a 10/10. I googled "where to buy wakeboards in Calgary" and Shuswap Ski & Board popped up. I wasn't sure what to expect but...you have to trust the Google, right? I'm glad I did! I arrived and was immediately greeted and asked if they could help. I said I was looking for a wakeboard for my husband. They guided me through the selection process by asking questions about his skill level, weight, shoe size, etc. I mentioned that I liked a certain brand (b/c I'd heard him mention it) so they showed me the best option in that line for his skill level....even though it wasn't the most expensive one. When I asked about that one, they said "Nope, this one is the one he needs!" I love it when the most expensive thing isn't the "right answer" because of the price! I had done the pool course for my PADI and signed up for my open water dives and dry suit training…read more I would not recommend any do this. Here is a summary of my experiences. First dive: It was going well until unexpectedly I was flipped around as I couldn't control my trim and then next thing, I know I am at the surface and had dropped my respirator from my mouth and didn't inflate my BCD. Once French Jeff surfaced, I inflated my BCD and put my respirator in and made it to shore. I told both Jeff's that my equipment didn't feel right. Second dive: It was going well until I went swimming following French Jeff and again couldn't not control my trim and then I am at the surface. I again said my equipment didn't feel right and the response I got was I surfaced to quickly. Third dive: Was bad from the start. We were doing the navigation and again my equipment was going from side to side even though the BCD was tightened. French Jeff was following me and said he had never seen this problem before. I called off the remainder of the dive as I did not feel safe to continue. I waited at shore and made the decision not to continue on Sunday as it would be more of the same. From my point of view there are four factors to diving. 1. Diver's comfort and ability in the water. I have been swimming since I was young and finished all of my red cross lessons by the time I was nine years old, bronze medallion at fourteen, bronze cross at sixteen and was in competitive swimming for four years. 2. Training The pool sessions from my perspective went well. The dry suit pool training was an hour long and there weren't any issues that I was aware of. Waterton training was non-existent as the Jeff's were doing four to five different courses at the same time. 3. Equipment The BCD felt fine to me when it was on, and the dry suit never did fit well. I was told several times that the dry suits that are used in training aren't the easiest to control and when I had my own it would fit better. 4. Conditions The water was high and as usual there was wind at Waterton but nothing excessive. Save your money and do the open dives with a wet suit.
