This water filter was a very basic machine that you can get from one of the big box stores for under $300. I wanted to find out what it would take to get it working again. I called the maker of the equipment and they gave me two numbers of companies in the area that could service it. The first one didn't answer, so I called the second one, Adviro. They were able to schedule a next-day service call. We discussed that they should only be reviewing the water filter to tell me what the problem was and not to do any work until speaking with me first. I would be at work and my wife may not be at home. The tech showed up the next day, told my wife that we should use a cover to protect the filter and softener. I totally agree. The panels on the machines were pretty tattered and worn. He proceeded to work on the equipment. Later he asked my wife how she would be paying. She assumed he already spoke to me. She handed him a credit card. He attempted to charge her $695! I told her (by text message) to not pay and that the tech should have called me first. Apparently he tried calling me, but I never received a call from him. She had him call me this time. He actually called me this time and I spoke to him. He said he installed two parts and the service fee and it worked out to $695. The filter itself is less than $300 new! I told him I didn't agree to any of that work. He said he would go take off the equipment that he installed. I called the office for this company. No one answered, so I left a message. I explained that I needed a call back from a supervisor or manager because I was upset with the situation. Just shy of 30 minutes later, a man called. His tone was poor and he was very short with me. I explained why I was upset. He tried to say the tech installed a used (free) wiring harness and something else related to the water softener. I had no issues with our water softener and did not need them to do anything with it. Not once during the call did the man apologize. He did say to me, "I'll make you a deal. We won't charge you anything today and you don't call us again." This was absolutely absurd!!! Who would say that to a customer? Let alone a customer who is irate with a tech attempting to charge $700 for a couple parts on a $300 water filter. The man asked what else I wanted from them. I explained that he never once apologized to me. He then blurted out an insincere apology. I had to explain that he should have made more effort to show some sort of empathy for their customer and the situation. This was the worst first-time experience I've ever had with a company. I will not be using them in the future and I suggest that anyone else take their business to a company who treats their customers with some sort of respect.

It was very expensive to replace the filter so often. Biggest thing I wanted to share was how they caused over $50,000 in water damage from their leaking water filtration in my kitchen.. they accepted responsibility and paid for the first 16,000 of it to get actively growing mold infestation my house after eight months. Finally all the mold in the cabinets and the flooring were removed that were all damaged from the water leak and now the company has refused to return any phone calls any emails. I called every number I could find to try to contact them and left messages to request callbacks and no one would ever call me back and no one would ever call the remediation company back that removed the mold out of my house.

We initially called a plumber who overcharged us and actually made the leak worse (lesson learned). We subsequently decided to call Just Water Treatment Inc. who came out to take a look. The specialist who came out (I think it was the owner) really spent a long time trying to repair and fix our current system before explaining that we did, in fact, need an entire new one because of some irreparable cracks (that I think were caused by the plumber we initially called -_-) . Although that was disappointing to hear, I really appreciated that they obviously made every effort to repair our current one before suggesting we get a new one and clearly articulated why we needed a new one. It definitely did not feel like they were upselling or anything. The specialist went ahead and installed a new reverse osmosis system under the sink and let us know that they can come out yearly to maintain it and change the filters (we signed up for that service as well). This happened back in November and everything has been going smoothly since! We are really happy with the specialist's efforts and service and with our new water filtration system.
