Had a horrible painful experience this morning.. I asked for a shorter rounded almond/oval shaped acrylic full set with french tip.. and while I will take the blame for not speaking up after and saying how awful my nails looked - I would not recommend this salon and this nail tech to anyone. I went and cried in my car after because I was in so much pain from how many times he had cut me with the drill and the files.. I was visibly bleeding in the chair and he put what looked like liquid skin all over my cuticles to stop the bleeding.. it was multiple cuts.. The finished product was truly horrific and I've added the photo I took of my nails right after. The shape he gave me looks more like stiletto and the french tip is wayyyy too thick - and I did give the tech a reference photo as well so that he would know exactly what I wanted, but he was unable to follow thru. I should've returned to the salon to ask for a full refund or a new tech to completely start over, but I was in too much pain and too humiliated by the staff.. read more

The person who answered was aggressive/ annoyed over the phone when I made the appointment. I come in and found out it was the owner. He yelled at me to go wash my hands and to sit down. This is the only place in Scottsdale I go for my manis and pedis when I'm in town visiting. Kelly, the owner, is absolutely delightful and will graciously offer you water or a mimosa. I've had wonderful gel manis from Vy (who's adorable) and fabulous Celestial Pedicures from Angela. Their business is down a bit because of ongoing construction in their area. I am new to town and to the country and was in the neighbourhood for ramen, saw the place and decided to get my nails done that were LONG overdue. I needed a refill to be done to my nails, eyebrows and a decided to get a nice pedicure too! While the nails were an absolute delight done by Dean, the pedicure was such a pity. I didn't feel welcomed by the person who did my pedicure, I had to keep asking him to put more pressure on the massage (I did NOT take the basic pedicure) and he wouldn't budge. At some point I gave up. I was really tired and needed a good massage but sadly didn't! I think the gentlemen next to me (servicing another lady) felt really bad but couldn't help). I had to ask the person to redo the feet scrubbing cause he hardly did it the first time. I am pointing this out because initially I thought it's a one off thing but nope, he went and met the 2 ladies right next to me and he was so warm, friendly, and attentive. He also asked them if the water temperature was good! Omg.. where was all that courtesy for me! I mean, I didn't to want write, this here but it's been 2 weeks and it still bothers me how I was treated. I don't want anyone new to town (who is not a regular) to be made to feel that since it's Scottsdale and prolly my Gucci and Prada is not out with me, I can't afford the place. I won't go back just because of the way I felt and the pedicure was bad. The manicure was 10/10. Dean The eyebrows/upper lip was 8/10. I am taking off 2 points here because the same lady was the receptionist and was very biased. She did not bother to offer me the same discount coupons as Christmas goodies she was offering others (I didn't need it but coming from a place of being treated differently, I didn't feel my best) and blatantly asked for a tip. Apus Nails was recommended to me by a friend when we just moved back to AZ. I see Vy for my nails, she's the BEST. I get dip nails and like them short. She even helped me recently try something different and fun for an idea I saw instead of just my normal one color I usually get and LOVE what she did. She doesn't make them too thick and got the shape I like perfect too. I have had Angela for pedicures and she too is great. Place is clean and a great location. I love this spot and will never go anywhere else! My natural nails were destroyed after going to another local spot multiple times. They were painful and completely ripped off. For me, getting my nails done is a treat and not a regular occasion. As such, it's disappointing when the end product is short lived. A day after my gel manicure it chipped and I noticed my pedicure polish had bubbled. While the nail salon is clean (they use sterilized tools and pedicure tub liners) the atmosphere feels completely sterile too. During my appointment one employee was watching videos on his phone in a massage chair and everyone else was in complete silence. Only one other person came in while I was there and while she attempted to make conversation it didn't last. Not to mention the lack of niceness and conversation from the tech. I will give benefit of the doubt and maybe it was the woman that was newer to doing nails, but I am certainly not satisfied with the end product. I showed the girl at the front the end product of my nails, she agreed they were messy and she asked if I wanted them redone, I declined because I was ready to get out of there! I came here one time as my regular place 1 was busy and my regular place 2 phone was down that day. They have generous Yelp check in offer for the first timer. Be sure to check in before you pay to take advantage of it. Unfortunately a little accident while a staff was taking care of my nails and I was bleeding and in pain for the nextt two days. Accident happens but it didn't give me a good impression as a first timer. They had a child playing there and using one of the brush. No one seemed to stop him for playing with the business stuff and I just wanted to leave. I live right across the street and drive by this new salon every time I am home from traveling for work, so finally wanted to try it out as I am super picky about where I get my nails done and since I travel a lot usually I can't get in as a walk-in to most other salons. 1. They accept walk-ins which is awesome. I was studying so not in a hurry and got to sit and wait in the massage pedicure chair for 40 minutes which was perfect. If you have somewhere to be I would make an appointment as they are new and only has four staff members. 2. I sat next to a wonderful woman who told me about a Groupon, which I bought right there $50 for the Royal Pedicure & SNS/Gel Manicure...DEAL! 3. "I" or "Ay" (don't know the spelling) performed my pedicure and it was in fact Royal. Best pedicure massage I have had in a long time. 4. Nina did my SNS set and she was awesome, attention to detail, the shape was perfect and she is very friendly. 5. CLEAN! I really enjoy a clean/organized salon and this was, in addition their technology for check in is top notch. I will come back for sure, the only thing I can't review on yet would be the length the SNS lasts as that has varied on salons I have used but I'll update when I return. Probably the worst place we've been to. They were late to our appointment and could care less. We were so excited to try another new place close to another family members house. This place is dirty and quite honestly shady. My mom and I will never be back. We had asked for our cuticles to be pushed back and that costs extra apparently. So does shaping our nails. They do that for free at like everywhere and if not it is disclosed upfront that there is a fee especially that high? I was sure there was a mistake but nope. $40 extra. $20 per person sounded like the biggest rip off. Just because we are wealthy doesn't mean we must pay steep bogus fees. "Owner" very argumentative. The prices are about the same all over town. Anyways, go anywhere else. We've been around town and love going to different places. My sister and I ventured out of the house today for pedicures. We found Apus through Yelp and quickly noticed all the positive reviews after their grand opening and decided to try it out! We were greeted by every single employee upon arrival and noticed right away all of the safety measures in place for COVID including frequent hand washing, disposable pedicure bath covers, face masks and gloves, limited surface touching, etc. I went with the celestial pedicure and got Jason. Love me a sugar scrub! He chatted with me, fixed up my ingrown toe nails, and was very nice/funny. He asked multiple times about water temperature and massage pressure to make sure it was good too. The mimosas are delicious and a great color selection... the chairs even have foot rests to comfortably hold your feet up while they are getting worked on which I haven't seen before! He doubles down and continues even when it's obvious they are uncomfortable and it's beyond boundaries. V gossips and talks mess about her previous clients and other customers right in front of them to her current clients and co workers then does the same about them when they leave. They overcharged me an entire service and lied about it when I inquired so I paid it and left less of a tip, although what I left was still substantial. Not everyone has class and I'm sad to say that two of the people at this place do not and unfortunately they've ruined it for everyone else who works there. Unless you want to pay to be bullied and receive sub par service, do not go here. Part 2: In response to the rude, unprofessional and sexual harassing owner I was speaking of. My child did not terrorize your business. Had you not started my nails hard gel set after my gel pedicure was completely finished and my daughter was getting her manicure and pedicure done, we wouldn't have had to be in your shop for 2 plus hours. My daughter was actually extremely well behaved for a three year old in that scenario. If speaking and movement are terrorizing to you then I completely understand why you told the customer next to me "don't have kids, they're terrible" after speaking of your own children. No one else had any issue with my daughter being present and as I said, she was well behaved. I have seen you all for two years and never once have I brought my daughter so anyone with emotional intelligence would have some compassion for a mother. Not surprising behavior coming from you as you stated you don't like kids, including your own. I've brought you consistent business for over two years and now I will do the exact opposite and let everyone know just how terrible you are. Thank you for showing yourself with your response. I was recommended this place and never gotten my nails done by a professional before. however, this place is anything but professional. My nail tech, Sam was doing my nails and I let him know it was my first time. I gave him an example of what I wanted my nails to look like and we started. He quoted me $75 for them, which he later then charged me $80 which is deceptive as I was expecting $75. He also never explained why he charged me more. He kept blaming me for his mistakes, when I was just sitting there and him holding my fingers to do his job. He made me bleed numerus times and has no empathy and accountability for his actions. He wanted to blame everything around him for his lack of skills. My nails are not stiletto and don't have a nice black ombre effect like I asked. He kept asking if this was my first time and each time I said "yes", this man lacks attentive and listening skills. He asked this over 10 times throughout the whole process. Then I overheard their cleaning practices by another nail tech who stated they only clean their tools once a day. Considering Monkey Pox and Covid are still happening, this is just a huge red flag. This place is not worth coming pack to, especially since they have poor cleaning practices, and unskilled labor for the price.
