Got us fixed in less than an hour, gave me some tips on what to look for to troubleshoot when it stops blowing cool, and suggested I buy a maintenance plan where they come out 2x a year to check the unit before a problem arises. Everywhere else we called didn't call back or couldn't see us for 2 days. I am so grateful for Myatt! We opted not to get an outdoor kitchen ( which I do love) after having one catch fire in a brand new home we had built in Texas. FYI, the fire was all due to bad installation from the outdoor kitchen people , but it scarred me emotionally enough to only have a grill I can push into the back yard in case of emergency. After being told by first responders that my house would have exploded shortly, I knew we would be ever vigilant should we do this again. Al looked over the area and where the hook up valve was located and offered us sooooo many better options than where the builder had put it. He really knew his business and we were confident that for safety and aesthetics he was exactly the man for the job. And boy was he. He removed the old hook up valve which was poorly installed to start with( yes, this is a new home) and moved it to a much better location with all new hoses, connections and everything else needed for the job. Talk about a difference. He also had every tool for the job so there was no running back and forth to the store or back to the business. That was really nice. Carson, his apprentice was also incredibly helpful and found the wire needed in the grill to hook up to the starter. We were afraid that Lowe's wouldn't get there for the delivery in time and we would have to pay for another service call, but they made it just as they were finishing! A job WELL done!! 0/10 . Very disappointed in this company…read more They completely misdiagnosed my problem with my AC. We were told it was the fuse breaker switch and he did not have a part for it. I asked if everything else checked out. He told us yes. He had gone upstairs and outside to the unit with his diagnostic tools. We bought the part from Lowe's. That was not the problem . Turns out it was the compressor. In my opinion ,this person did not have the experience to know the problem or to diagnose the problem correctly. Also, I was not given a receipt just told it would be charged to my credit card, 574 dollars. Also, I had to give out my cc info over the phone to the guy before he would even drive to my house. I called the company and told them what happened and I was very disappointed in their company and would not be recommending them ever. I choose this company because it is a 3 rd generation family owned AC company and has excellent reviews and recommendations .Advertising 100 percent satisfaction guarantee with each service. That is not what I got. They may have been good at some point in history but not today.Do not use this company.

The service techs were always polite, knowledgeable and courteous. If there was an issue with our units, they would suggest a few options we could do and the prices were never outrageous. This past weekend, we had an issue. The outside temps reached 117F, and we woke up Sunday morning to a leak in my kitchen...the furnace is right above the kitchen area and it was pouring out of a pot light..what a mess...I got on the phone with Brian, and he gave me a few solutions and we made an appointment for them to come out..they couldn't come out on Sunday but we were scheduled for Monday! I spoke to him a few times Sunday, sending pictures and explaining what was going on and we followed his suggestions and within a couple hours, the leak stopped!! I am so thankful that I was able to cancel my Monday appointment. Everything was running perfectly...I am super happy with the service Brian gave me. He even called this morning to make sure we didn't need him..if I ever have any issues with my furnace/AC unit, I will be calling Brian's Mechanical for sure!!!

We experienced an electrical problem with our outdoor hot tub. Andrew came and spent all day…read moretroubleshooting the situation. The original wiring into the hot tub was not rated for outdoor use and the connections to the heater and pumps were not weatherproof. After rewiring and replacement of 2 circuit breakers and a GFCI the problem was solved. I highly recommend this company. Reasonable prices, too.

We had a very bad experience with Southern Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning.  It is our feeling…read morethat we were defrauded by the owner Claude McAlhany, who is also the technician that came out.  Our air conditioner stopped working on Labor Day weekend.   Claude came out and claimed to have added 13 lbs of freon at a cost of $1950.  It did not fix the problem.  He came back the next day and said the control board had to be replaced and charged us an additional $2,075 for replacing it.  This also did not fix the problem. When we called Claude back, his son texted us that his father had a heart attack and was at a hospital in Columbia.  I have no idea if this is true, but it seems suspect, as he clearly had no intention of coming back to fix our unit.  We then called Aptus HVAC.  The technician informed us that our air conditioning unit could only hold around 7lbs of freon and there is NO WAY it could hold even close to the 13lbs for which we were charged.  He also said that the control board was NOT new and had about 4 years of dust on it.  Needless to say, we were devastated that we had clearly been taken advantage of.  Aptus went into the attic - something Claude never did - and replaced the motor at a cost of $450.00.  We called Claude back and told him what we learned about the work he did.  He was defensive and said that we don't know what we are talking about.  He said that the unit may take 7 lbs. but we have to account for the coils and the piping to the house.  We did our research on our unit and learned that standard R-410A systems require about 0.6 ounces of extra refrigerant per foot of copper piping over the standard 15 feet. To need an extra 5.6 pounds, our indoor and outdoor units would have to be roughly 160 feet apart. This is incredibly rare for a residential home and especially for a home of our size, which is only 2100 SF.  We were clearly taken advantage of and overcharged.  When we asked about the control board, he claimed that maybe the box was open and that it might have gotten dusty sitting in his truck or that it got about four years of dust in the 4 days between when he installed it and Aptus came out.  His theories are not credible.  I should have verified if he was licensed before we hired him.  After the fact, I could find no record of him being licensed with the State of South Carolina, Charleston County or the town of Mount Pleasant.  When asked on the phone if he was licensed, his response was "Here is my license number, kiss my ass".  He then texted and said "don't ever contact me again".  Later that night he attempted to explain the 13lbs of freon with some shots of a Google search - but the data he provided was on a much larger unit than we own.  When I pointed that out - he went silent again.  I don't really understand how he thought he could get away with so brazenly ripping us off.  Maybe he saw two older people and thought we wouldn't figure it out. In any case, use caution and do your homework if you hire Southern Seasons.
