Friendly people that do a good job and show up when they say they are going to. I have not seen anything on my house since they started! I would recommend them 100% read more

They do a great job of notifying you when they're going to be out to the house. They send you pictures and a summary of what they did when they were at your house. They even came out before their next service appointment because we had mosquitoes and they promptly took care of them. I would highly recommend Aptive Pest Control! read more

I really would like to talk to a person when I call the number, and not AI. Not good customer service.

Near the end of my service agreement in June, Aptive missed a scheduled treatment. I contacted the company to complain and to request cancellation. I was initially told that if I cancelled before the annual contract was fulfilled (Aug 31), I would still be responsible for the remaining month's charge and an early cancellation fee. I spoke with several supervisors over the course of approximately an hour attempting to resolve the issue. Eventually, an Aptive supervisor agreed to resolve the matter by offering a partial credit of $68 dollars for the missed appointment in June, by offering a July service call at no charge, and by cancelling my service without an early cancellation penalty. I relied on this agreement, but Aptive did not follow through as promised. The refund was not issued, I was again charged for a service and the cancellation was not handled as agreed. I made another attempt to resolve the matter with Aptive. During that conversation, I was told I would now receive a refund on my August billing statement, but that the credit offered for the June missed appointment, would be a credit to use should i wish to resume the service in the future. I was also told they would not removed my credit card until Aug 31, despite requesting it be removed immediately. I'd like to add that I found the communication style of the representatives concerning. Their policies are filled with deceptive and misleading practices, there is woefully inadequate disclosure of material terms, their recurring/negative-option billing is unethical, and their cancellation practices are well-hidden and suspicious. In my view, this type of interaction can make it particularly difficult for elderly consumers, inexperienced homeowners, or consumers who are simply unfamiliar with service contracts to fully understand what they are being told, what they are agreeing to, and what their options are. read more

I signed a service contract with Aptive Pest Control because I was told they would treat both my home and my yard. The yard treatment was one of the main reasons I agreed to the service. However, in nearly two years as a customer, the yard was only treated during the very first visit. Despite continuing to pay for the service, the promised yard treatments never happened. When I contacted Aptive to cancel due to the lack of service being provided as promised, I was told I would have to pay a cancellation fee. Charging customers a cancellation fee after failing to deliver the services that were represented during the sales process is unacceptable. My experience has been that the company did not follow through on what was promised when I signed the contract. I am currently considering pursuing this matter in small claims court because I believe customers should receive the services they were promised and paid for. I would advise anyone considering Aptive Pest Control to carefully review their contract and keep detailed records of the services actually performed. read more

They notify you before coming and are respectful of my property. They take photos of the treatment area and give an update on the problems they identify. read more

Abby was absolutely fabulous. Very hospitable, with. She was very detailed oriented, which I appreciated.

Maybe the owners are reading the reviews, and trying to improve because I had an excellent experience. Trevor was my tech who was very knowledgeable and committed. He text in advance of his arrival asking if there were any specific areas or pest problems. He inspected first then explained what he saw before treatment. I have large showcase windows which cannot be sprayed above, so they have a treated tool (like a Swiffer 360 only bigger) that will clear the cobwebs and leave a trace natural repellent. They also treat yard and bushes for fleas, tics, ants, and more. I'm very happy with their service and the pricing is very reasonable for what I've received. read more

Overall - STAY AWAY and find a different service. In my opinion, this is basically a SCAM. I was solicited by a sales agent and signed up in June 2025. Aptive made me sign a 24 month service agreement and charged $115 a month - about twice as much as my previous service. With the cost came a promise to take care of a number of pest problems. I was told it might take a whole year to see the results promised. Admittedly, the first few services in 2025 were good and the technicians were knowledgeable and professional. However, this year (I've had the service for 13 months now), things are worse than with my previous pest control service. Further, their customer service number routes you to a call center that has made it impossible for me to terminate service, even paying the termination fee that I was told would be waived if I was selling my house. I have had to contact my credit card company to put a stop payment on the service. It has been quite regrettable doing business with Aptive. It has cost me hundreds more than comparable services over the last 12 months and their customer service hotline has been beyond frustrating. read more

I was told by the salesman that this service could help with stink bugs in our home and ants but after three months of service we have more bugs than ever. When I called to cancel they told me it would be $199 to stop my contract. Do not use them, they lied to get my business and are impossible to get out of, would not recommend, zero stars. read more

Aptive Pest Control - Stink bugs - Pest Control Near Me - Comstock Park, Michigan

I would agree with the consensus of reviews, but I would add one key factor -- for all the time and money invested, there is really no change in the amount of bugs & spiders in and around my house. I would be better off with a can of Raid. The Positives: Responsive Re-treatments: Customers are generally pleased with the company's willingness to send technicians back out for free targeted spot treatments between scheduled visits if a pest problem persists. Professional Technicians: Many reviewers praise individual technicians for being polite, knowledgeable, and thorough when applying treatments around the home's exterior. Eco-Friendly Focus: The company's use of botanical-based and environmentally conscious pest solutions is frequently highlighted as a major benefit by satisfied clients, but not as effective. The Criticisms: Aggressive Sales Tactics: A major source of frustration stems from Aptive's door-to-door sales teams. Critics frequently cite high-pressure sales pitches, ignored "no soliciting" signs, and aggressive door-knocking habits. Hidden Fees and Contracts: Numerous complaints detail unexpected early termination fees (often around $199), automated renewals, and binding multi-year contracts that customers claim were not disclosed to them during the sign-up process. Scheduling and Billing Issues: Reviewers on Yelp and the BBB often report difficulties in canceling services, being billed for missed or uncompleted appointments, and struggling to get in touch with responsive customer support agents. If you are considering their services, it is highly recommended to carefully read the fine print of the service agreement, confirm the exact pricing, and clearly understand the cancellation policy before signing anything with a sales representative. read more

Paid for single treatment for bees going in our dog door. It was pouring rain when he treated. He said to let them know if the initial treatment did not take care of them. We still have bees. Messaged the company, did not receive a response. Called today, was told it was a one-time treatment and the account had been closed. $229! They keep me informed before and after treatment. They follow through on commitments. So far so good .

They dont service the customer. They sell a contract and give every excuse on why they cant make the appointments

Very polite and professional, the only issue I have is the time of day they come....730pm is to late

This business is a scam! Totally unprofessional! I requested to have the same tech each time, and only had that happen once. The majority of the technicians were very rude. Also had to cancel my debit card due to charges that weren't mine, and that only happened once they had my card number. I can't wait for my contract to expire in June. I'll not be renewing it!!! read more

They come out regularly and extra if needed. And we have seen a drop in the bugs from sure. Corey was get professional and quick.

I called Aptive regarding an ant infestation in my yard. They were very knowledgeable and gave me a few choices on a plan. They sent someone out immediately and they were very nice!! All of their service technicians are amazing and one of them even pulled up my garbage can up to my house from the street!! They ask what you are concerned with and address it while they are there. They do a very thorough job and go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied!! You don't always receive this level of service nowadays!! I am so glad that they are the company that I chose to take care of my issue. On a scale of 1-10, they are an 11. I will always refer them to anyone that has a need for an exterminator!! read more

DON'T GIVE THEM A DIME!!! For starters... they hire young, charming, smooth talking salesman to con you into signing up with them. DON'T be fooled! Second... the salesman that came to my door never told me until after I gave him my credit card for the "first time outdoor only partial spray" agreed on for $30 that I was signing up for a full 1 year membership... & if I wanted out I would need to pay $199. After realizing I would be paying $85 every month for the entire year including winter months... NOT including mosquitoes... I knew I was scammed. All I had originally agreed to was a $30 outside only that day spray b/c the salesman once again made me feel like I had to sign up right then & there or not all all instead of waiting 2 months to start b/c that's when my neighbors were starting. So he charged me $30... but come to find out after canceling 3 weeks later, a few days before the 1st & next only full treatment... they charged me $199 for canceling PLUS still charged me $85 more for the next months service even though they never came again. Third... you can only ever speak to someone who hardly speaks English and will only repeat over & over & over & over that I signed a contract... even when you demand a supervisor. I regret 110% getting scammed by these people..... live & you learn I guess. Now we are going with Shoreline... they are incredible... NO year contract & NO charges during the winter!!! read more

Great customer service, and very thorough! love that they send pictures as services are being performed.

our ant problem got significantly worse since starting with aptive. At this point I seriously don't know what I'm paying these guys for.

Can not recommend this business. The service was sold as once a month treatment. May or may not show up every 8 or 9 weeks. They're more interested in drumming up more business than showing up for what you've already paid for. Also don't appreciate paying every month during winter when nothing is done and no pest activity, so not a good value. read more

This kid on a hover board came rolling up onto my driveway. It took me multiple times to ask him to leave before he actually listened. If I could give this company zero stars, I would. For 2 consecutive months they charged us with no services rendered. We had appointments booked and twice had no one show up. After calling to cancel our service, we will still charged a cancellation fee and no refund for the times they missed. They stated that since we cancelled our account was frozen and could no longer be refunded. They said we broke our contract after cancelling, but they never completed their end of the contract by providing services. Extremely frustrated! read more

A salesperson rolls up on a hoverboard and insults my husband on our property, because my husband told him TWICE that he wasn't interested, before asking him to get off our property. This isn't the 1950s...who goes door to door, is aggressive and doesn't listen, while on private property? I HAD to give one star - I wouldn't have given them any. read more

Would not recommend this service to ANYONE. Showed little to no improvement over several months and then billed us the $99/mo without even showing up. Finally had enough and cancelled only to get hit with the $199 "cancellation" fee. IMHO, you shouldn't have to charge an extra fee if your service sucks. Seems like a scam and I'm embarrassed to have even tried the "service". Would much rather work with a local firm that stands behind their work. read more

This company is a joke. I met with a door to door salesman and we discussed treatment for ants in my yard. I agreed to 2 treatments during the late summer/fall season. I didn't notice any improvement in the situation. I then had APTIV showing up in the middle of the WINTER wanting to do an external application. WTF - we have snow on the ground and I'm certain no insects are running around outside at this time of year. I then noticed monthly charges on my credit card although no treatment was being done. I called APTIV and told them the agreed upon service was already completed last year and they informed me I have a 12 month contract and it would cost me $199 to cancel my service. This is complete bullshit!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !! read more

Back in August, an Aptive representative came to my parents' home in Berrien Springs, Mi. and offered their "services" to my elderly father. Soon after that encounter, a series of spammers started to harass my father on his phone for various reasons. That same month, as soon as my mother became aware of what happened, she called Aptive. She is the owner of the property and the person who manages it. My mother informed Aptive that a different pest control company already services her property and that she was not interested in Aptive's services. Despite this conversation, Aptive sent emails to my father's email account indicating that they have treated the property for multiple months. This is despite no Aptive representative being allowed in or seen on the property during months that they billed for since August. Aptiv sent a collection email a month before one of the alleged treatments and a different collection email a month after that same alleged treatment. I find it odd that a company would claim that they provided treatment to a customer after already sending a client to collections. Yesterday, an Aptiv representative banged on my mother's front door repeatedly. This loud and continuous banging was done in a manner that was clearly intended to harass the resident of the home into opening their door. My mother was shocked and appalled when the Aptiv representative asked "What did we do to lose your business?" She informed that representative that she has always used a different pest control company. The Aptiv representative attempted to pressure my mother into agreeing to their services. She told him that she needed to leave for an appointment. I am deeply concerned that my father was billed for these services for two reasons: 1)My mother (who is the owner of the property) made it clear to Aptive that she did not want those services on her property back in August and that they should not return to the property. 2) My father has been billed despite those services not being provided on the property. I am also deeply concerned about the aggressive manner in which the Aptive representative behaved. That type of behavior is not a norm for my parents' neighborhood and they have a right to feel safe in their home. This behavior was extremely disrespectful and completely unprofessional. If an Aptive representative ever returns to my mother's property again, they will be reported to the police for trespassing. Currently, my family is considering a restraining order against Aptive. read more

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY. The salesman was nice, but definitely pushy. What he told us they would do and what they did were MILES apart. Our house got a tiny bit of toxic pesticide thrown on the window sills, after we asked repeatedly about the safety of their products. They were supposed to clear off cobwebs and spiders, they did nothing. The site gives me a 500 error if I try to access my 'account'. Read the reviews everywhere before considering giving these people any of your money. Total scam, I am so disappointed in myself for falling for it. read more

Very unprofessional. Had a service contract that ends this month. Called to cancel and was told they are still billing an additional $199.00 cancellation fee. Service was for ants and spiders of which neither have been taken care of even with multiple visits and calls to have them come out again to respray between the monthly scheduled visits. Watched a few times where the technicians showed up sat in vehicle for a few minutes and left. Did not spray or check the exterior of the home. Do not hire this company!!! read more

I am extremely frustrated and angry with APTIVE! In July, I had an application in the downpouring rain. I inquired about the effectiveness of the product and requested a customary application to replace that one. I was told yes, it is in my records. THEY CHARGED ME anyway for September and DENIED GIVING MY MONEY BACK, even though it was in the notes from my phone call in August that I was owed a customary application. SO RUDE and wrong of this company to take advantage in this way!!!! I would rather eat a bug than have your company come prevent them in my space. read more
