This rating is related to customer service. The in person classes are helpful and engaging. But if you happen to need assistance to resolve an issue, you will be waiting for a while. Emails and texts are technically ignored. Phone calls are either not returned, or if you happen to catch them, you will be told what you need to hear to get you off the phone quickly. It is really a shame to get a one-star review based solely on customer service experience. But, your service does not end when payment is received. You still need to deliver on the service, and that has been a total nightmare. read more

I checked out multiple schools. I found one school at $5k, another at $900. The rest ran a range of $200 to $500. The thing I liked about this school is they offered the principle, practice and an elective finance book. After reading each chapter there is a 10 question quiz that you can take over online over and over till you get 100%. Each book has 15 chapters. When your done there is a 100 question test. Then you go on to the next book. There is also a live class that meets each week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Finally they have an online crash course with questions to get you ready for the test. Jim and Stephanie are always available and will help you with your paperwork or anything you need. Jim had one of the largest nationwide appraisal business and was also successful as a agent. Stephanie having been an educator for the last 10 years will help provide guidance to you throughout your studies. Jim and Stephanie not only will help you find a position as a realtor through Keller Williams but will help you find a position with Diamond Resorts that provides a salary plus commission. They also can show you how to make money with real estate investments such as flips and how to do real estate loans. In other words for the small amount of $459 they make all this possible. They also will do a payment plan of $167 for three months if you can't pay the $459 upfront. Bottom line is they really have made the process easy and have been there for me throughout. I'm a student and researched many schools. This academy has a high state exam pass rate. Also you attend class once a week. Then you read a chapter a day on your own and submit a 10 question quiz, from home open book. In class you review a summary and take a few notes to follow. At the end of all 3 classes after passing, you take an online course review to prepare for the state exam. 2 instructors-tony and jim. Both are great and easy to follow. Class goes by very quickly. Let me start off by saying these people are great people, and incredibly nice. I am only giving it 3 stars because of its teaching method. I am a teacher myself and I found the delivery of the information a little chaotic. There was really no system in place on how the information was taught. I felt like it was a free style teaching lesson. They give you this massive binder and a huge text book. They don't go over the material of the binder with you at all. This can be quite overwhelming especially if this is your first class like it was for me. Jim, who is a wonderful gentleman and who appears to be very knowledgeable; delivers the information in a very casual manner, but with very little structure. He has a outline that is in a binder and jumps around sporadically. I found it very hard to find the talking points he was talking about. I would highly encourage projecting the outline on the whiteboard and then pointing out where he is going next. I found it interesting as well that I was the only one trying to take notes, while all the others in the class just sat there and listened to him talk. I found the lecture not very informative at all. I felt as if I was just going to have the read the text book and learn on my own. Which leads me to my next complaint. I spoke with a wonderful woman named Stephanie who was so warm and welcoming; I had asked her if I needed a background in finance to take Real Estate Finance, she said no. I open the text book and read the first 2 paragraphs and felt like I was reading a foreign language. I've found myself reading the textbook at a snails pace, because I've had to reread so many sentences over to just even comprehend a fraction of the information it is providing. The text is so dense and obscure. I feel like the text is speaking in circles and making this so much more complicated than it needs to be. The author uses such rich vocabulary that only people who also have PHD's in finance could fully comprehend the text. Lastly, I feel like this course only teaches to the test, and as a teacher that is a big no when it comes to teaching. No learning is occurring, only memorization. This is a huge problem when it comes to teaching because it is a shortcut and ultimately it will fail. It is like putting a piece of gum on a leak on a dam. It is a short-term fix. If you actually want to learn the material, I feel like you really will have to dedicate about 20+ hours in reading the text book each week. However, if you are just taking these classes to pass the test, then this system will work very well for you. If I could give a different score of customer service, it would be 5 stars, but overall I would have to give it a 3 based on how the teaching is done. Jim and Stephanie are amazing, and everyone learns differently. Therefore, if this system works for you, definitely come here. They are very welcoming and just want to do everything they can to help you pass the class and get ready for your daunting 150 question exam. I did pass with their class and a crash course the weekend before my test. I also watched a lot of videos and took practice tests. read more
