He currently operates under the business Modern Ops Repair, website Modern Ops Repair Online reviews detail the same scam: - Offer to come by for a $75 diagnostic fee - Discuss parts required for the repair - Explain that he will require 50% now and 50% when he comes back for the repair - Apologize that he only accepts cash, check, Venmo, or CashApp - He will go on to say that he will email a detailed invoice as soon as he gets home tonight - When days go by with sparse communication and no invoice, he will ask to confirm email and claim he will send ASAP - When you try to cancel services, he will note that there is a 35% restocking fee, but he will offer to refund the remainder ASAP - Ultimately, he will stop responding. Never send invoice. Never send refund. Never provide the service he claimed to provide. Stay Away From Zustrom Construction- owned by a 21yr old named Chance! Called (888) 393-3444 and first was connected to someone who was supposed to come that night, canceling the professional who was coming in the AM, told between 6-9 Friday and at 9pm I receive a cancellation. I called back for a different technician who came out Saturday for my washer that wouldn't drain (inherited house), told me after about 30 seconds that it wasn't worth fixing - in which I told him I had a brand new washer in storage- he wrote an involve for $250 that clearly shows removal of the old uninitiated and install of my own new one - collected half upfront (so much for the $70 service call and rest due on completion). (1) I waited over an hour at storage for him to arrive at the time he changed it to last minute (2) I waited nearly 4 more hours for him and the other teen to bring me my own washer 25 minutes away (3) knowing it's all located in the basement and the old washer had standing water in it and rusty water every time you moved it, they didn't even try to drain it first and didn't BRING A DOLLY!! Thankfully I had a very old one. They flooded my basement, left rusty residue from the dryer point to the back door. (4) They didn't even wait to see if they had installed the new washer correctly to see if it wasn't going to work, said "your washer your problem" (5) while they were literally answering calls and not doing their job, they realized that using Appliance Pros must have cost him a fee (I heard them talking about it) and once "they considered the job done" attempted to get me to pay an additional $50 saying it was for disposal of the unit, that I would have received a new invoice from some lady via email, when they were never given my email and by law the invoice I agreed to is exactly what I was obligated to pay, nothing had changed on my end, just the horrible service they provided! What they did was try to take advantage of me once the jobs was complete, minus the inches of water, sludge, and washer I had to pray was going to work! When I refused to pay, the "owner" Chance actually threatened that I better hope I don't have any further issues with that washer or they wouldn't come back unless I paid him! No No No! If I have any other issues with absolutely anything EVER, this is the LAST Technician I would EVER call! Oh and I have to call another actual REAL professional from the leak these inexperienced, illegally over charging mess that was left behind! If I find out the two are related in any manner, I'll see them in court! And these technicians are no where to be found on the internet, so no BBB rating, no recourse, this is literally ALL I could do but will be contacting the BBB regarding how I needed up with this mess! read more

I would not recommend this company! We were assigned to Appliance Pros through our home warranty co. Our dryer was giving us a message that the vent needed to be cleaned and then it stopped working. Appliance Pros were scheduled to come out during a two hour window. They did not arrive during this window. We called and they came out later that day. We had to pay them a service fee to come out. They told us that our dryer was not working because of the venting issue, causing a sensor to go out on the door. They said that this would need to be replaced and that we should clean out the dryer venting system (not covered by warranty, $200). While there they also asked to look at our washer and suggested getting the bearings replaced, because although we were not having any issues as of yet, they anticipated that we would in the future. They said we could have this service covered by our warranty without having to pay an additional service fee as would normally be the case per appliance and issue. Who knows if this was something that actually needed to be done or not, or if they were just trying to get more money from the warranty company. They said they would return in a few days with the parts that they needed to complete the jobs. They were polite and personable in their interactions with us. On the next day that they were scheduled to arrive they did not show up. We called both of the company's numbers numerous times throughout the day. When we finally talked to they said someone would call us back. It took a few more calls from us and some time, but someone did eventually return our call. They had a million excuses as to why they had not been able to come out for our appointment and why they would still not be able to come out that day. They were very apologetic and said that things like this never happen. They agreed to come out the next day. They came out the next day.. They worked on the washer, but did not have the dryer part, so they would have to come out again. They did do something to the dryer that they said was more of a temporary fix but would make it work until the other part came in. They also cleaned out the "dryer vent", but damaged part of the vent cover to the outside of the house. The clean vent light continued to come on on the dryer. When they returned to complete the dryer fix we told them about the issue with the dryer vent light. They told us that indicated we needed to clean out the lint trap. We told them that we diligently clean out the lint trap and looked up the issue which indicated a problem still with the dryer venting system. They said that they had cleaned it and that this was not the problem. Over the next couple of months we continued to have the clean vent light come on frequently and our dryer was taking hours to dry a load of laundry and was no getting very hot. We had to hire someone to remove a nest of birds from the vent Appliance Pros had cleaned out. The birds had gotten into the vent due to the vent cover having been damaged.The bird removal company showed us that this was not our dryer vent, but for a bathroom exhaust fan. We contacted Appliance Pros about cleaning the wrong vent and our dryer still not working properly. They did not acknowledge cleaning out the wrong vent and said that it was probably just clogged again because you should have it cleaned every 6 months, it had only been about 4 months. They did scheduled a time to come out again to look at the dryer. On our scheduled day they again did not arrive during the time slot they gave us. We had to call numerous times to get a hold of someone and they said they would come out a little later. The person that came was nice. They did not think there was any issue with the dryer, despite us telling them that noting in the dryer ever feels warm and it takes hours to dry laundry. They took pictures and said they would call us the following day. We never heard from the company again. We also did not try to reach out to them, as we have been so frustrated with them, were not confident with their work or knowledge and did not want to deal with them any longer. We have since bought a new dryer to try to solve the problem. On the first day of using our new dryer it gave us an error message that said that our venting system was 80% clogged. We decided to contact a different appliance company and they came out and cleaned out the correct dryer vent. Our dryer has been working great ever since. We paid them $200 to then have them clean out the wrong vent, we then had to pay ($225) a pest removal service to remove birds from this vent after they broke the cover on the outside of the vent and then bought a new dryer because we thought that our dryer was possibly the problem and not working correctly. This company has taken no responsibility, has cost us so much unnecessary money and has wasted so much of our time. We will never use them again and do not recommend anyone else to either! read more

I wish I could leave a -1. Our under-cabinet microwave isn't working. They charged $180 to come out and stick a coat hanger in our microwave latching mechanism to put it back in place. This was a temporary band-aid fix at best. After several phone calls and messages, the tech came back with a replacement switch. That didn't work either except as a temporary patch. We have now been waiting for a new latch for over a month. After texting last week, the tech promised to get back with us the very next day, "no fail". It's now Monday and no response from the tech. The tech is polite enough, but then again so are all con-men as they pick your pocket and give you nothing in return except lip service. So, if you enjoy doing nothing but chasing down service techs who seldom if ever return your calls, this is your place. As for us, they are fired and will never set foot in here again. read more

I hired them for dryer repair. This place is a joke. First of all, their window of time to show up is 9-5, so you end up spending a day waiting. First appointment they showed up around 2pm and replaced fuse. Stated that this may/or may not fix the problem. It didn't. I called the next day to schedule another appointment. Again, 9-5 window. They didn't show up on the day they were supposed to. This happened two times. Finally showed up, and said I needed a new element and sensor and would squeeze me in the next day. Didn't show up. Oh, I forgot to mention, when you call, they NEVER answer. Out of about 10 phone calls, they answered maybe 3 times. Proceeded to not show up 5 more times. The craziest thing I have ever dealt with. Excuse after excuse. I finally did get appointment windows narrowed down to 4-7 or 4-8 because I could not sit around and wait for them from 9-5 for them to simply not show up. It has been 7 weeks since I first started dealing with this company. They have come to the house twice in that time, and not showed up for 7 appointments. I finally left a very nasty voice mail and told them that they were so unprofessional that they were almost comical. I can't believe they are still in business. The last excuse she gave was that she had the appointment on the books, she just doesn't know why the technicians decides not to show up. Are you kidding? Is that the best excuse you have! It should also be noted that the second time the repairman showed up, it was set for 9-5; however, I got a text at 9pm and asked if it was okay to come a little late. That he could be there by 9:30. I only had the displeasure of doing business with Appliance Pros because my warranty company sent them out. My warranty company (Choice Home Warranty) was the worst too...so it makes sense why they would do business together. I had an issue with my washer so I submitted a claim through my warranty company. Appliance Pros was scheduled to come out on a Thursday. But they just completely missed the appointment and never called to reschedule or advise they were running behind. I called to let them know that they missed and needed to come out right away. They accommodated and send someone out. He seemed like he knew what he was talking about and said that he would order the replacement part and it should only take a couple days to come in. After waiting 4 days with no feedback, I called to find out the status. The lady answering the phone said she'd call me back in 30 minutes. Which she never did so I had to wait until Monday to call back. At this time, I'm told the part is still not in but she scheduled the repair appointment for Thursday of the same week. That Thursday morning I received a call that the part was still not in so she would have to move my appointment to the next day (between 9-2). The new tech doesn't show up till 3 and appeared to be on a number of drugs. He immediately tells me that the part he has isn't what I really need...I need something different. Through is clouded vision he determined something else is wrong...totally unrelated to the part he brought with him (although, he never even attempted to put the new part in and see if it actually fixed the problem). Clearly seeing my frustration with the whole situation he "gives me his word that he would have the part over-nighted for Saturday delivery and call me with the status updates." He seemed to be in a hurry to leave, but not in a hurry to fix my washer. I called him several times that Friday and Saturday with no answer and no response. When I called the main number on Monday it took several attempts to get someone to answer and the mail box is ALWAYS full so you can't leave a message. And when she does finally get around to answering there's always kid noise in the back ground. *I get having to work from home if you have a sick kid....but every time she answers it sounds like it's a daycare AND her muting me only makes me more upset because she clearly wasn't listening to what I was saying. During the Monday call she let me know that my case had been "reassigned" because their techs didn't know how to fix the problem. Shouldn't that have been communicated to me right away...without me having to call for an update?! I was now 3 weeks without a washer and no one at Appliance Pros seemed to care. I would NEVER use this company on my own...nor will I allow them to handle any other jobs that my warranty company might assign them. However, my new warranty company isn't as shady as CHW so they (hopefully) won't be using the likes of shady companies like Appliance Pros. read more

Would highly suggest doing business elsewhere. Cameron came out to my home on a Thursday and said since I had children he would expedite the process to fix my refrigerator. Monday morning comes around and I've heard nothing from the company so I contact my warranty company who tells me Appliance Pros never submitted the claim so it was closed. Called Appliance Pros all morning from 9:00-11:00 and finally got an answer at 11 am. The secretary said she would find out what was going on. An hour and a half later I had to call back to find out what was going on. Finally after some coaxing, the secretary agreed to call the warranty company to see what was going on. I agreed and hung up. She then calls to tell me how poorly I am treating her because I didn't end the phone call with a "good-bye" and that they wouldn't be doing business with us. They were happy to take my warranty deductible and not follow through with the work. There is no communication and my refrigerator is now completely out and not cooling food after I filed a claim over a week ago. read more

Had the guy out months ago, he "fixed" our dryer and it's broke again. Called him told him seemed like the same problem. Okay, I'll be out ASAP. Blew me off for 3-4 days. I called back. Oh yes, I'll get you taken care of I promise. He came out, tore it apart & said same problem as before. Needed to call a "friend" who used to be a rep for Electra-lux to see why it keeps going bad. Couple days go by. I text again. Says he'll call me in a few minutes. 3hrs later, I call again. After 5pm on a Friday now. Oh yeah I just talked to him, but I can't order the part bc the parts store is closed & also closed now on Saturday's bc of virus. I'll take care of it. I promise, I won't charge you either. Be in Tuesday. Monday I text to make sure he will be out the next day. He finally answers his phone around pm that day gives me a lame made up story about how the part came in but they won't release it till they have wiped it down & quarantined it for a couple days. "I promise I will be there Friday morning at the latest. I will try to get my friend who works at the parts store to let me pick it up before the quarantine...." We bought a used refrigerator that was advertised as being in "Good" condition on Craigslist, and were promised it had been assessed and repaired by technicians at the shop. Once we installed it at home, it felt cool/cold, so I loaded groceries into it, but the refrigerator and freezer were not appropriately working, even though they were at their coldest setting for over 24 hours, and so it ruined an entire load of groceries. I contacted the company, who sent a technician a WEEK later, and "fixed" the problem but the same thing happened again. We ended up having to purchase a new refrigerator because we couldn't just go a week without one. Even after the repair, the Appliance Network refrigerator was just a piece of junk. Well there 1st visit to my home was on Sept 4th to repair a control box for the refrigerator. I was told it'd be an easy fix and they'd be back in a couple days with the part. I waited a week and hadn't heard a word from them so I decided to call. I left no less than 4 messages without a single return phone call. Another week went by and I luckily I actually got someone to answer the phone. I was finally told that the part was back ordered and would be in that Friday so they scheduled a tech out for that Friday. Tech called Friday and said he was on his way and would be here in 30 minutes. An hour goes by and no one had showed up. I called the tech and he told me that the part hadn't showed up yet. Couple hours go by and the tech finally calls me again to tell me that the part was damaged during shipment but he found the part elsewhere and was gonna drive to go get it. Another several hours go by and he calls me back almost 12 hours after original appointment and wants to come over and fix it. I told him it was too late that day and they needed to call me and reschedule. 3 more days and I leave them 3 more messages with no response. I finally got them on the phone by accident I'm sure and they finally showed today Oct 6th and took 5 minutes to repair fridge. So a month after a repair that was supposed to be a day or 2 it was finally fixed. Hopefully this will serve as a warning to other potential customers of theirs to not do business with them read more
