The technician was extremely kind and professional, but overall customer experience was extremely poor. It was incredibly difficult to get a hold of anyone via phone - one of the rare times I could get a hold of someone, I was told in a very annoyed tone that even though his name was in the email signature, he was not the right person to call. It took 3 visits over three separate weeks (because their only refrigerator repair person only works in Portland on Saturdays) to determine that the refrigerator could not be repaired. The technician said he would file a recommendation to replace it, when when I spoke with AHS I was told that Appliance Guard Pro instead reported that THEY could not fix it and recommended another contractor. It's been 5 weeks now, our refrigerator is totally dead, and my family has had to throw out all perishable foods. I would not recommend. read more

I wish I can give 0 star on Yelp. We had a terrible experience with this contractor: they were assigned by our warranty company to diagnose and repair our drawer microwave. A technician came to our house on the scheduled day, spent less than 5 minutes checking out the microwave, and told me that the door motor isn't working and need replacement. He also mentioned that this part needs to be shipped and said I can expect two weeks for shipping and we will be contacted afterwards. Then, we waited and waited and waited. One month has passed, I have tried to call them several times, nobody picked up. I got so fed up and contacted our warranty company again. We were then told that after the initial diagnosis, the contractor is not able to repair this specific brand... They could have told us earlier that they can't fix it, so we don't just sit and wait and expect them to contact us! Horrible customer service! read more

Appliance Guard was contracted through my home warranty company to repair a broken refrigerator. When the technician came out to repair he told me the fridge wasn't broken because it was impossible for it to freeze food. In addition to being rude and not listening or even trying to diagnose the issue, he then informed the home warranty company that he could not fix it and that the I somehow broke the unit. So now the home warranty will not even try to repair. Its one thing to be bad at your job, but an entirely different matter to spike the ball on any chance the customer has at getting resolution. UPDATE: I tried to call to get resolution about this issue and the owner of the business berated me over the phone and told me I was a terrible person. I tried to explain that I have two toddlers and a pregnant wife at home and we can't keep food in the house. Further I am a diabetic and my insulin has been freezing in the fridge. This company is impossible to get a hold of. Every time I call I am either transferred to a voicemail or put on hold for 30 mins never to be taken off hold. We have a job that is still unfinished from June. The technician came once, said he needed to order a part. They did schedule a follow up a month later. It was my fault that we missed that appointment, but since that time I have been calling repeatedly to reschedule and no one is calling me back. Our old refrigerator died and Appliance Guard Pro was referred by our home warranty to come out and take a look. They weren't able to come out for 2 WEEKS while we were left without a working fridge, and then the guy DID NOT SHOW, nor did they call us to let us know not to expect them. Another person came by several days later, spent 2 minutes looking at the fridge and told us it would be too expensive to repair and he recommended just replacing it. Then he WROTE SOMETHING ELSE in his official report to our insurance company, who is now sending a different contractor out to take a look at our busted fridge again. Due to their inconsiderate, incompetent service we have now been without a refrigerator for a FULL MONTH. Don't use these assholes. read more

Appliance Guard Pro is the contractor that was assigned to my American Home Shield warranty service request. 3 appointments set and they never contacted or came to my home. All 3 times I was assigned Sean St Claire as my technician. I contacted both the company contacts email and phone. No response to my email and voice message to Manager. Eventually I got through their 877 automated support line and was transferred to Sean who gave no reason for "no show" and reschedule me for the following day but failed to arrive again! I have a 3 year old Maytag that just had its 8th service repair call. I was pretty upset that the warranty company won't just call it a lemon and replace it and was surprised that Appliance guard could diagnose the problem without opening it up. Trust me every electronic part inside has now been replaced however they did replace a board that head still a factory part and once again it is up and running. Due to bad weather, my original appointment had to be canceled, but Sean came out on New Years Eve to take a look at my broken dishwasher. He was super friendly and walked me through what he was doing, letting me know about some tricks to try in case my dishwasher stopped working again. Unfortunately, my dishwasher needed some electronics to be replaced so Sean wasn't able to get it working today. However, with how friendly and communicative he was, I'm pretty happy. Technician came to fix refrigerator and he said refrigerator needs investor board but I got email saying from Appliance guard that refrigerator was fully functional and request was closed. Belligerent and unprofessional - left without even looking at job. Appointment was at 3:30 and he came at 3:00. We were replacing flooring so had to lay down plywood. I came out to him yelling at my step dad who was laying the plywood down. He then jumped in his car and sped off. Not paying attention to any of his surroundings and could have easily hit someone. He then backed out quickly into on coming traffic. I then got a text message that they won't service us and they would be calling the cops and threats of lawyers. This all happened because he was early and didn't want to wait a minute for plywood to be set down so he could safely access the washer dryer. The first visit was great, quick appointment time and they arrived when they said they would but it all has gone down hill from there. I received a text saying the tech was on his way for our appointment to actually fix the stove then got a review link (this one actually) asking to review the service however no one ever came to our house so we never received the service. We can't get a hold of a live person on the phone and it sends you to a full voice mailbox. After calling for two days, I was finally able to leave a message and got a text message a couple hours later with a new appointment date and time. Shortly after that, received another appointment date and time then two more updated dates and times followed that. I still haven't received a call back and we still don't have a working stove. Wish I could leave negative stars! This person was sent by our home twice by First American Warranty. The first time was for our dishwasher that the door kept popping open during the wash cycle. After they left it completely stopped working and we had to replace it, it was 8 years old. The second time was for our washer and dryer, both 9 years old. Water does not drain from under the washer gasket, we have to mop it out after every load, and the dryer shuts off after a couple minutes. He was in our home for 3 minutes, looked at both and said you need new doors on both, I'll place the order & call when they come in. The next day we got an email from First American, the tech filed a report saying the washer was fine, no issues and the dryer had been "abused". We are only adults living in the house and use it daily but have never "abused" the machine or hung on the door. The tech refused to return our calls or the warranty company when we called to clarify the discrepancy between what he told us & the report. The person that answers the phone was unbelievably rude and argumentative and told me they only have 1 tech so could not send another out to verify the report and she could not verify what he put in the report. They refused to answer our questions or send the tech out again when we filed for a recheck because the washer still is not working correctly. These people a scammers, dishonest liars and have no respect for customers. I haven't even mentioned that the tech clearly had not bathed in many days, the odor he left in our home after 3 mins lasted hours (I thought the dogs had an accident in the house, until I realized it was from him). DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE under any circumstances!!!!! Clearly First American has some sort of deal with them to scam their customers based on the other reviews I'm seeing here. We are also canceling our First American contract and going with another company. Look them up in BBB, they have an F rating all for the same things, 9 negative reviews in 4 years and not properly licensed in state. read more

The tech diagnosed what was wrong and said he was going to order a part that needed about a week to get here. When we didn't hear back from Appliance guard, we reached out to our home warranty whom informed us that the part had arrived and we should be getting a call back for scheduling. I initially got their staff to inspect a problem with my cooktop, and he acknowledged the problem and said we could replace it with the new one. Trusting him, I filed a service request with my home warranty and chose the company as a contractor. Few days later, the same staff visited and inspected the cooktop (ordered by the warranty). He submitted the diagnosis that the cooktop was totally fine, which was totally wrong and contradicting with what he said earlier. I had to schedule a second opinion with the home warranty. First visit was what I'd expect: told to pay $75 for a five minute diagnosis of a burnt out control board on our oven. Was informed it would take three days to get the part ordered and a technician sent back over to replace the control board. Waited a whole week for the part to be ordered and a technician scheduled to come over and do the replacement. Okay, fine, things happen. Especially right now during a pandemic and God knows what else. On the day of the scheduled appointment, we had a 2PM-4PM window. My partner reached out around 2:30PM to see if there was an update on an ETA. The agent she was chatting with was incredibly abrasive and told my partner, "I can't predict the future." 4PM rolls around and not a single update from the agent or the technician. I called the after hours person and was told it would be another hour because the technician was still at a different job. 6PM rolls around and not a single update from anyone. No phone call saying we need to reschedule; no phone call keeping us informed of anything. They just didn't show up. Tried calling again a few hours ago, the day after the scheduled appointment, and nothing. Oven is still broken. Still haven't received an update. This company is garbage. If we weren't stuck with them from our home warranty I'd jump ship in a heartbeat. If there were zero stars option, I would absolutely choose that. -- UPDATE: They were able to make it out today. They work with AHS, which sent them to us to fix the fridge. The technician showed up, looked at the fridge, and said it needed a new motherboard. He said he put an order and will come back within 3-4 days. We haven't heard from them, but they marked their job as "completed." We called them and sent emails- no explanation of what happened to the order of the new motherboard and why they marked the job as completed. AHS submitted a second order for them to come and check again, but they didn't contact us and marked the job as "completed" again. Worst experience ever! Please save your time and money and reach out to reliable companies and not the company that's lying and ghosting their customers. read more

Let me start by saying we had to go through our home warranty company to set up someone to fix our dryer. The first repair guy from another company they assigned was very hostile and rude over the phone. I did not feel comfortable with some dude coming into my home who spoke to me the way he did. So call the home warranty company and get assigned a second repair company. That company scheduled and canceled on us 5 times. Finally they assigned Appliance Guard Pro. Sean came out to fix our dryer at the time we were told. He was friendly, quick and we now have a working dryer after almost 5 weeks. As a mom with a child who is potty training, having a working dryer is a necessity. Very happy right now! read more

Well i am not sure the review is helping anyone much and might just be a venue to vent frustration. These people work for warranty companies to come out, collect the service fee and do trivial things or make up excuses for anything relevant. I don't think any one in their right mind is actually calling these guys directly For our experience two guys came out. No gloves no shoe covers just walked right up to the fridge and started touching food and moving things around vs. being respectful and safe. Spent all of may be ~5 mins to tell me it's something they won't do and someone else will have to come out for it. Frankly lighting $75 on fire is probably better value than these guys read more
