Parts were ordered and the initial repair was made by Juan and Trevor a week or so later not knowing the heating element had also gone out. That part was ordered and Monica scheduled them to return after the Christmas holiday for the final repair. It was a pricy repair, but living in a rural area, we did not have the choice of replacing our microwave or finding the size and style that met our needs. Abel seemed like a nice guy. Diagnostic fee was fair but the quote that I was provided after for a…read moresmall repair seemed like I was being overcharged. To diagnose the problem it took about 15 min max. Most of the work was already done as part of the diagnostic and all that needed to be done was to clip on the new igniter for the oven. I looked up the part and not even the OEM part was that high of a cost. I didn't quite see the value of the diagnosis or the quote. Once I declined the quote demeanor changed a bit. Didn't find the quote to be fair and I was not satisfied with the result. Now I gotta replace it myself, I'm not paying for another 15 min diagnosis. UPDATE: I replaced the igniter myself. Literally took me about 10 mins to replace. All I had to do was clip the new one in. A YouTube video saved me hundreds. Some of these repairmen overvalue their expertise I guess. Glad I didn't pay the outrageous price for such a simple job especially since I knew what the problem was be before the diagnosis.
