I called to have a clothes driver serviced (it was making extra loud noises). Despite calling just before noon, they scheduled me for that afternoon, and as promised, called to confirm I was home, and showed up just 10 minutes later. John and his son quickly had the dryer apart, and found a very worn roller. They had the necessary part with them, and had it cleaned up, greased and back together quickly. Not their first rodeo! They accept Venmo, Check or Cash, and I paid them with Venmo with no fuss. They will be my first call the next time I need an appliance repaired. read more

My clothes washing machine stopped mid cycle on a weekend I called John & set up an appointment. He called back to update me on his arrival time & continued to ask questions about when the machine stopped. He arrived on time & quickly assessed the problem. He tested the pump motor & then attempted to get the machine to start up. Unfortunately he discovered that the real problem was not the pump but the main memory board. He looked up the replacement parts & prices. He gave me options and estimates. In the end I chose to purchase a new machine. John was more than fair & charged for the service call. JOHN is our GO-TO guy for appliance repairs. He was great and finished in less than 1/2 hour. We were considering getting another Refrigerator but called him after reading about a similar problem he fixed in 2019. A fan in the GE Refrigerator/Freezer side by side kept (several times everyday) making a loud noise hitting against a panel just below the ice maker. After describing the noise and where it was coming from; John knew the cause and how to fix it. John was thorough and described what he was doing as the repair progressed. John and his son came out to fix my refrigerator. The refrigerator section was not getting cold enough (~50 degrees), the freezer was too cold icing everything up, and it was constantly running. He said he found the problem and fixed it, and that it would take a while to get to a low enough temperature after putting everything back in it. However, what he did did not fix it at all, it was doing the exact same thing. I called back and he said he would not come back out to work on it further, and would not refund me the $160 I paid him. He said it was not his fault for not being able to diagnose it, that "it must be the compressor and I told you up front I don't fix compressors so I am not giving you a refund for my time". After calling other places and looking online, there is no way it could be the compressor because the freezer is ice cold. If the compressor was out it wouldn't be producing any cold air. He would have known that, he was lying. He would not give my money back or even a partial refund and was rude on the phone. read more

He explained what was wrong with my washing machine, WHILE he was working on it. He had the replacement part in his truck, so there was no waiting for two weeks while it was being ordered and having to schedule a second appointment. We had a problem with a loud fan noise in our refrigerator, so loud we could hear it in another room. When I called John, he immediately diagnosed the problem as possibly ice forming inside the refrigerator and interfering with the fan. He fit me into his schedule to come by later the same day and he arrived as promised. Just to get to the fan, he had to overcome a number of hurdles--a rusted screw that had to be drilled out and a frozen panel that required de-icing. He did it all without damaging delicate plastic parts. Once he got the panel off, just as he had diagnosed earlier on the phone, we saw a large ice formation near the fan housing. He carefully melted the ice with a blower being mindful of not overheating anything. After removing all the ice, he reinstalled everything, including replacing the rusted screw that he drilled out. He completed all his work in an hour and cleaned up afterward. The loud noise is completely gone. I was very impressed with his responsiveness, knowledge, efficiency, problem solving and persistence in getting the job done. He is now our go-to guy for appliance repair. read more
