Our Whirlpool refrigerator was freezing thing too cold and the refrigerator part wasn't cooling. I messaged Appliance Attack in the late morning and Paul was on site with parts by the afternoon. They responded quickly and were friendly and polite. However they led us to believe they could finish the job but then told us we needed to call someone else to finish it. As far as we know, the repairs were good and we haven't had any issues since the second company came out to complete the process. We were disappointed in the lack of clear communication. They also left a mess for us to clean up, which isn't a big deal but everyone else who's done work here has cleaned up their messes. I called on a Wednesday late afternoon to have my Mother's dryer checked. Billy answered right away and gave us a diagnostic quote with an appointment for Friday (10a-1p). Billy asked me to text him my Mother's address confirming the appointment schedule. Friday, around 11a, Billy sent me a text letting me know he would be at my Mother's in 15 minutes. About an hour and a half later, my Mother text me letting me know he was done and felt he was very honest and quoted her a very reasonable amount to repair her dryer. The 2nd repair was with my dryer when the gas flame would not light. Paul came out changed the lighter fuse and the dryer was working again. Wow, talk about amazing customer service! This guy really, really knows his stuff AND he takes care of business with good humor, great explanations and recommendations for the appliance dummies, (AKA me) and he possesses just a certain sort of style and grace that I would never anticipate from an appliance repairman. Billy was in my kitchen literally 20 minutes after I called him to report a new-ish Maytag refrigerator that had stopped chilling in the frig department while continuing to go strong in the freezer department. My husband had tried a few things and got it chugging for a few weeks, but frig temp was like 55 degrees today - no bueno!!!! After a one minute phone conversation, Billy was on his way in his Prius packed with parts and tools. He laid out the problem, replaced the computer in my semi-high-end 3-year-old refrigerator, gave some recommendations for promoting longevity of the new computer, and was on his way, a literal Super Hero in knee pads. I seriously wanted to hug him, I was so grateful! Yay! Today, I had my first experience with Appliance Attack. Hopefully, I won't need to call again anytime soon, but if I need to, I know it will be totally painless. It's a Friday afternoon. I called AA at 1:40p asking for a consult on my dryer, which had suddenly stopped heating. Billy clearly stated the price of the visit and asked if an appointment tomorrow would work for me--which it did--but said that if time allowed he would try to come by today. And he did! Magically, he made his way over to my house in Echo Park around 3pm, communicating his ETA by text. He arrived promptly, diagnosed the issue in under 5 minutes, and since he had all of the parts in his car, fixed it within ten. The price was more than fair, and he was able to ring me up by card using a Square on his phone. Also, as a kindness he checked out my weird old stove with a missing knob that we've had trouble replacing for years, and offered to look in his car for a universal knob that would fit. He DID have one, AND he gave it to me for free! What?! So to sum up. If you call Appliance Attack: you will be treated kindly, you will be out of your appliance jam quickly, you will be happy to pay what you are charged--to boot, you will actually kinda wish you were friends with Billy, because he's super cool, bright, and nice to dogs.
