Don't understand all the bad reviews. I have bought pants for years and they are still being worn. Coastal Cotton t shirts last and last. I wore one the other day and the lady loved it so much she asked me where I bought it. I know sometimes there is a back order. This happens in many stores and you just wait. There is nothing the store can do about it. The quality selection and price is the key here. And this seems to be great. The pants are so comfortable and the t shirts too. I think it's best to wash in lukewarm water. I hang my clothes up to dry so no shrinking. They last a long time this way. Bought 2 beautiful red coats made of wool. This was awhile back. Long coats for winter. Very nice. Happy to shop here. read more

The quality of Applesee's clothing is mediocre; several recently purchased items have loose threads, one had an unfinished seam! In addition, this store takes a very long time to ship orders and then the orders take a very long time to get to you. EX: I purchased 4 tee shirts that I did not receive for 6 weeks! I've been an Appleseed's customer for years and have been happy with their clothing. Their shipping has always been expensive and delivery very slow. I've noticed recently that they are even slower with delivery, sometimes taking over a month. No other business I can think of is this slow. Now with their no return/no refund policy I feel like they have crossed the line. I have to find a new store for my clothing needs. I tried to exchange items from an order I placed on April 28 and followed every instruction I was given -- including calling to place a new order and requesting expedited shipping. I waited 45 minutes on hold, was promised a supervisor callback that never came, and had to follow up myself just to get a response. The replies I received were templated and dismissive. When I tried to escalate the issue, I discovered that Appleseed's doesn't list any names or direct contacts for their corporate team. Their main phone line requires you to enter a name -- but provides no directory. There's simply no way to reach someone in management. To make matters worse, I shared my experience respectfully on their Facebook page and my comment was deleted -- along with another customer's who reported a similar issue. Their website now says they will no longer accept returns or exchanges on items ordered after May 19, 2025. I'm not sure why they aren't accepting exchanges or returns, but I can't imagine they'll stay in business for long if they continue not to. People won't buy stuff knowing they can't return it if it doesn't fit. So even though I received everything I ordered and it does fit, I think this will be my last order with them. I order items from the final sale as I do every season. I have been very lucky in the past with good quality item. This time I placed an order on 6/29/25 and on 7/14 I asked them to cancel my order because my trip would be over before the items ever arrived. I have an email stating they would reach out to the shipping department to cancel my order due to the delay. I received another email 3 days later stating that my order was shipped. When it finally arrived on 7/21 I reached out to customer service to return the items no longer needed . I agreed to pay return shipping as well. They flat out refused and said it was a final sale, PERIOD!!!!!!! I contacted my CC company because I did cancel the order. Do not order from Appleseeds! I have ordered from them in the past and was very happy with their products but my last order was a great disappointment. I ordered tops that I had ordered previously and the product I received this time was totally different. The material and sizing are not the same as my last orders. Not what they used to be. I had not ordered from this company for several years, mainly Foxcroft blouses & a few tees. I recently ordered several pairs of pants. I had serious back surgery, & could no longer wear heels. I needed the petite short that are almost impossible to find. The pants are no where near the quality of the Ann Taylor & Talbots pants I still own. But they are fine for casual wear. I also needed a winter coat, & was able to pick up a London Fog at a good price. I found pj's at the same price as Macy's that were much nicer. The last two tees I bought were very thin. I was always careful what I bought, & was very lucky with fit & delivery. What bothers me it is now Aug 1, & there is no fall preview. Since they stopped returns weeks ago, I assume they will roll this company into Blair with quality that is not worth buying. But don't lie to me about the future of the brand. I returned some items for a refund and waited and waited and waited. They claim it can take up to two billing cycles to show up on your account. Etsy pays me for any sales the previous week on Monday and it is ALWAYS in my account on Tuesday. There is no way for Appleseeds to take 2 months if they issue it when the item is received and inspected. After two months of checking my bank account every day, I asked customer "service" to check with their accounting department to see if the refund had actually been issued. My refund showed up in my account two days later. I have not cancelled their weekly catalog because it costs them money and there is a recycling bin next to my mail box. I do really like Foxcroft shirts but you can buy them elsewhere. read more

I received two holiday catalogs within a couple of weeks of each other. In the first catalog I found a wool coat I liked with a full description which included a covered front button placket in Misses size for $139.99. In the second catalog, the exact same coat was $10 more. So, I thought I would go online and see what price was posted but what I found when I entered the exact same item number, the coat was different, and they no longer had the coat with the covered buttons. It only showed the version, mind you using the same item number, a coat with big buttons going down the front and the price was still now $149.99. Such a scam or poor quality control in what the product and price should be. The catalog and online website should match up with what they are trying to sell!! So bogus!! read more

Appleseed's clothing has gone down in quality and style. They look just matronly. The quality is mostly "made in Taiwan." Their shipping is overpriced. 13 dollars for two tank tops. They say they have a return policy but you have to jump through too many hoops and finally call there corporate office for a return label with a 35 minute wait line. I purchased two pairs of pants, one black, one charcoal. The charcoal fit perfectly. The black was smaller and the inseam shorter. Would return, but already removed the tags, based on satisfaction of the charcoal. Purchased a "wrinkle free" shirt. False advertising. Not only is it wrinkled out of the laundry, but gets worse after wearing. I miss the quality that used to be there. read more

This is the worst company I have had to deal with. They sent an order and the packing slip showed the 4 items I ordered. However there were only 3 itmes in the bag and 2 of them were not mine. I called customer service (which is a total hassle) and spoke to a woman and explained the situation. She is crediting for the wrong itmens and said I would not have to pay return postage. She reordered the 3 items I did not receive. The next day a package arrived with the 3 missing items. I am to recieve the same three items she ordered for me today. I called customer service and spent one hour going in circles trying to talk to a representative. I will never order from them again. read more

SCAM!! First, the website customer service number is WRONG. You get a recording or busy. I googled and found the "secret" customer service number and it is 800-546-4554. Got through to an agent and she put me on hold for 21 minutes. While I was on hold, I used my husband's phone to call again and I got through and had a conversation. I wanted to know the status of my order. My coat, ordered on 10/20, allowing for 6-8 business days, with Nov 2 as the final delilvery date, was on "backorder" and they did not notify me. It showed "in stock" when I ordered. It has not shipped yet, it is being "prepared" for shipping but I cannot cancel. I have purchased most of my clothing online and everything can be cancelled if it has not shipped. I explained to the agent that I need this coat for a trip and now, it will be on my porch while I am gone. I am NOT paying the required $6.99 return fee. I was given a partial refund and was instructed in writing that my order when shipped I would be notified and then I would be billed for the residual amount because I had a partial refund. 3 months elapsed and I have not received my order so contacted customer service who has declined to refund me the amount they retained. read more
