If I could give this location ZERO stars I would. Applebee's in Stafford needs to have a complete renovation or just close down. I was there when it opened on a Tuesday and was the first customer of the day. I used the bathroom and it was filthy with overflowing trash cans by the door as well as in each stall. The eating area was old and needed a makeover. The seats were torn and the tables had scratches and were just old and dirty looking. Take pride in your place of work and at least clean what you can. The food I ordered was good but I couldn't enjoy wondering how dirty the kitchen probably was if they allow the restrooms to be filthy. The carpet is old, worn, and disgusting. read more

Terrible experience! I ordered a bourbon steak with shrimp Parmesan on top, extra onions, a half rack of baby back ribs with fries, and silverware -- all straightforward. Yet, I didn't receive the shrimp Parmesan, extra onions, or any condiments. My orders often lack something. This time, my bag wasn't even sealed. The staff member I spoke with was unfriendly, simply saying they would cook it and that I could pick it up after speaking to the manager and explaining my issue. I popped in here for lunch with my mom. There was plenty of parking so no issues there. Also, there was essentially no crowd, so it was pretty quiet inside. I was a little surprised to see there was no lunch menu. There were also no more dollar margaritas, but they have a special on margaritas all day for $5. So, I'll take that as a small win. I got the whisky bacon burger, it came a little differently than I anticipated but it was good! I didn't expect it to be stacked so high, and I wish the bun was a little larger but I devoured it all the same. The margarita I ordered was good as well. Now, for there to be virtually no crowd, the food could've come out a little faster and our server a little more attentive. But maybe when the crowd is slow, everyone is moving a bit slower as well. Close this place down. This was the second attempt to try this restaurant, and both times were a one out of five stars experience. Service was not great both times. Food was meh first time. Didn't go back for 2.5 years. Chili's next door was closed, so we decided to take a, chance. Didn't even get to try the food the second attempt because after an hour of waiting for our order, they came out to tell us they didn't have a key ingredient for one of the orders, which told me that they hadn't even started cooking ours. The "margarita" was the mix with no tequila, and my wife's so-called wine was, I'm pretty sure, Apple juice. We told them forget the food, we'll pay for the drinks. My Sister, Cousin and I went during Happy Hour and ordered Quesadillas, Pretzels with Beer Cheese and Queso, Spinach and Artichoke Dip and Chips, and one Cosmo drink. All appetizers were hot and delicious! The Quesadillas were perfectly cooked and had a good amount of chicken and cheese inside. We loved the pretzels but the Beer Cheese was not really like Beer Cheese and pretty blah so we liked the mustard better. I'm taking off a Star for two reasons: 1 - there were big hunks of artichokes in the dip that were too big to pick up with a chip and not as tasty to have such a big bite at once; 2 - my Cousin ordered a Cosmo and the "bartender" had to look it up on the Internet to make it - that's a pretty common drink that the bartender should have known how to make. My cousin said it was pretty good! Our server, Debrah D, was very friendly and sweet. She made good recommendations and checked on us just the right amount of times. I went in on a Sunday so it wasn't too crowded. To say the food was a disappointment is putting it mildly. I ordered a bowl of French Onion Soup and a large chicken Caesar salad. Big mistake on my part. The soup consisted of a big piece of bread and a big hunk of cheese. Where was the soup? Did the bread soak all of it up? Just as I finished eating the soup the waiter brought over my salad he asked me how the soup was. My reply? What soup? It was all bread and cheese. Once I started eating the salad I realized that it wasn't romaine lettuce but iceberg lettuce. No cheese anywhere on my plate. I asked for the salad to be placed in a container so I could eat it later. I threw it out immediately after I left the restaurant. Sadly, one of the two dishes made me a bit sick resulting in a doctor visit and a day of work lost because of stomach issues. When did Applebees get so bad? This Applebee's (what does the name mean?) in Stafford was an exciting segue back into post Covid life. Their restaurant has a large square bar with TVs on all sides. Beer was COLD. Staff was friendly. To our surprise Applebee's REALLY OUTDID our dining experience (the middle of the afternoon). All the food; from wings, quesadillas, potato chip fritters, dips, mozzarella sticks - were FRESH, HOT, prepared minutes before, tasty and we devoured all the snacks, apps and shared plates with gusto and conversations. It was a wonderful luncheon! Applebee's is one of those staples you can really rely on for a sound stop-in (alone or in groups) and get your money's worth of belly-filling hot comfort, bar or sports-time tables foods. Went to Applebee's Friday night to catch the Cotton Bowl (OSU v. UT) and have dinner with a neighbor friend. I ordered the Chicken Clucker sandwich special and my friend got the Bacon Cheese Burger. Let's just say that the Chicken Clucker sandwich was NO WHERE near what was advertised. Period. The chicken patty was just plain awful, no way around it. It seemed as though Applebee's went to Walmart and bought frozen chicken patties, much like one might encounter with a chicken fried chicken entree (but at least THAT is smothered in gravy)!! Seriously. Just plain awful, no way around it. The Bacon Cheese Burger was welll cooked , according to my friend, if not for a bit greasy (maybe 70 - 30 burger meat??). The fries that accompanied both sandwiches were good, having a decent flavor and were freshly cooked. And the complimentary softdrink refills were nice, the bar tender was attentive to refills (Pepsi products). In a nutshell, I won't be going back as the chicken patty was just that bad. I went here for dinner. I ordered a salad. Easy enough. The oriental chicken salad with grilled chicken. I could not eat this. How do you do this to a salad. It had so much dressing on it. It was not tossed with the dressing. It was swimming in this dressing. I had to send it back. The server was very nice. It was too bad. My dining partner was embarrassed that I did this. Applebees is alright. I don't go very often, I don't feel the need to. The food is decent. It's mostly American cuisine with some items that have a foreign touch to it. I got the oriental chicken salad, a salad that you would not be able to find in an East Asian country but the salad is Asian inspired. It had the classic mandarin oranges and wonton crisps on top. The chicken was seasoned really well. The rest of the salad was average. It was drenched in dressing and the breadstick was stale. My friend got the 4 cheese macaroni with chicken tenders. We asked for just the Mac and cheese without the chicken and if they could comp the chicken since we wanted it taken off. The manager refused to do that, so we took it on the side to feed to the dog. The manager completely blew us off. He's not much of a business person to be lazy when restaurants everywhere are competing like never before. It was a huge waste of money to come here.
