I used to be a huge Applebees fan, frequently getting a half price Chicken Quesadilla with ranch and an order of Sweet Asian Chili boneless wings. Lately, my visits to Applebees have been fewer and further in between. I had a moderately disappointing meal experience at the Plymouth location today, but let's start with the positives. I'm pleased to see that they have gone back to the classic 2 for $25 model (with some expected up-charges). This being back solves the weird fragmentation of the multiple tiers going up to 2 for $30 that had different entree choices for each tier. Now the days of having to negotiate with your spouse or date on which tier you collectively have to choose are over. Each person can order any of the listed options and still get the deal whether or not they land within a more expensive entree tier together or not. This is a welcome change for sure! The only unwelcome change here is the subtraction of the 4 cheese Mac and Cheese :( As for service, I felt like the staff fell short here. To be fair we had a larger 12 person party, but we had called about several hours in advance and should have been expected. I felt like the minimum expectation would have been 3 standard tables pushed together in a line, but unfortunately they had us spread between separate tables. In addition to that, there was too heavy of an emphasis put on paying with the on table tablets, which with a larger party size is just not convenient. The server had all of our tabs split correctly which was great, he could have just taken the cards and rung them up like the good old days. Especially because in my case he even had to manually go to the back to add a coupon I had brought with me. I handed my card to him along with the coupon, but when he came back he still made me ring myself up. Such a simple scenario of where the customer experience could have been made more seamless with minimal effort. Although there's room for improvement, nostalgia (or a family event) will likely bring me back in the future, and I look forward to that day. read more

Applebees is a old time favorite of mine. I haven't been to one in awhile so we went to the one in Plymouth. It is nice for an Applebees, very clean and staff is nice . I think the food tasted what you expect from Applebees. Not bad but not something you would jump for joy on. I think the portions are smaller than before. Service was a bit slower than I would like and there's a lot of concentration on having rhe patrons using those tablets. I would I wouldn't mind going back but there are more choices for better food and service . read more

I love my neighborhood Applebees. My son and I went late night to hang out before a movie. He ordered honey bbq boneless wings with ranch. I ordered my tried but true chicken wonton tacos. We split an order in artichoke spinach dip. Everything was great and came out quickly. Our server was very friend and mentioned the half priced appetizers. I also love that they have my favorite drink.... Pineapple High Noon!!! It was extremely busy for being 10pm. My son appreciated the wall decked out in Wayzata School murals. Parking can be a nightmare especially when the theater next door is busy. Be warned getting here takes forever because of construction at 55 and Vicksburg. It can take up to 4 lights to get out of the parking lot. read more

Me and a Friend came into eat. We do smoke because it is legal in minnesota to do so. So we did prior to coming in for a late dinner. And once seated we were harassed by customers. Joking about it and laughing and one lady even came up to us and got in our faces. MINUTES later someone who seemed to be a manger? Approached us was accusing us of smoking or vaping in the restaurant... because apparently someone (the lady mentioned above) complained that we were. The manager was so rude to us we had been here for maybe 5 minutes at this point. Thank god our Male waiter not sure of his name he wore his hair in bun but he was very polite and provided good service. Everything else however... never coming back how childish. We hit Applebees regularly! Easy to get a quick and light lunch or a bigger more substantial meal. The food is consistent from franchise to franchise. This location was no exception. Our food came out quickly and was just what we thought it would be. The service was good. Our waitress Kia was really friendly and efficient. Came back to Applebee's for the first time "post-COVID" on a Friday night. I am so glad that they opened up dine-in again because I have so many memories at the tables here! My five friends and I were seated quickly by staff who appeared to adhere to all Coronavirus recommendations. Our server, Chris, was at our table frequently. He was helpful and kept our drinks full. In fact, Chris recommended the Ravioli to me, which I ordered despite my reservations about pasta (it is just not my favorite thing). The ravioli noodles were tender and stuffed with creamy, savory cheese. Chicken was tender as well, and the Bruschetta mix was just meant for this dish. It all rested in a dannngggeerrrouuusss smoky sauce. Some sort of red sauce/stroganoff/alfredo mix, it was the liquid of lore, and Applebee's should bottle it for sale immediately. I highly recommend this dish for any cheese or pasta fans out there. This is such a classic dinner destination, and I have never had a bad experience at the Plymouth location. Avoid this location. This AB's is a target destination for thieves. Purses stolen, as well as coats, etc. They stand around (usually in pairs) and scout out who is distracted so they can swipe things. They either sit in pairs at the bar trying to take advantage of people, or stand in different spots in the restaurant. Have witnessed this after being with someone who's purse was stolen. Still the best deal for steak anywhere. The 12oz ribeye is the best bet now. Usually it's at least very good but sometimes you get an extra nice cut and it's excellent. $24 for a 12oz ribeye with 2 sides, nicely seasoned, and cooked to order properly. Can't beat it. read more

Just tried them again. Our doing yes but we wanted to support local business. We ordered specials, wings were great server was good but we ordered a cocktail and it was 10.50 and tasted like pure tonic water with a 1.00 added fee for a sppppllllash of cranberry juice. Came in on Labor Day for dinner shortly after 5:30. There were plenty of tables so we were seated right away at a high top. After 20mins of waiting to be greeted at the table our server finally stopped over to let us know she would be right with us. Another 5 mins and she is finally back as we are packing our stuff up to leave. The food is what you expect from Applebee's, but we have always loved coming here because we can get in and out with the kids quickly. Staff ignores delivery drivers. No dedicated station or people to ask about orders unlike ALL other Applebees that do. It's the prototypical American chain family dining restaurant, with somewhat mediocre food for the price but better appetizers/specials. Sizable bar area nestled in the middle of the restaurant seating, but Beer selection is minuscule relative to their nearbly competition, and the staff includes both remarkably good and frustratingly inattentive personnel. Very family friendly, a little pricey for the quality if not ordering a special or happy hour item, and even a little more generic than TGI Fridays and other stereotypical American restaurants. read more

Every now and then I'll order lunch deals for carryout during break. Thus far, the service and food have been equally awesome! The food is right up there with other chain restaurants like Bennigan's, TGIFridays, Ruby Tuesday etc...but I don't mind :) I have dined in and experienced longer wait times but that's to be expected on a busy Friday night. read more

Our waitress did not come back to us once to ask how our food was. I wanted to order another drink and she did not come back to check on drinks or fill my girlfriend's water. Our food was brought to us and we were not helped again. If I could give this location 0 stars, I would. Ugh, I don't know why I let my hubby pick this place when we go out to eat. The kids enjoyed their mac and cheese and chocolate milk, but really, you can get that almost anywhere. Mass market american food and overpriced. On principle alone, i find applebees offensive because it does two things,1. doesn't try to be different and 2. places like these drive mom and pop greasy spoons out of the marketplace. They celebrate how generic they can be in their menu items and I noticed that they seemed to purge their item of any unique items that they add to it. To top it off, at this particular location, the service is downright mediocre. Many a time i've gone in (not by choice mind you) to find a somewhat rude waiter or waitress. In general, I can't recommend this place. You don't get good food, you don't get good service, and you get an environment that has been much better done by TGI Fridays, Old Chicago, Buffalo Wild Wings, Ruby Tuesday's, 3 of which are right across vicksburg from this location. I know that Applebee's is catering to be generic however, in terms of quality to price, if you compare them against a greasy spoon sort of restaurant, their quality is significantly beneath that of the greasy spoons I frequent and applebees is substantially more expensive and that is really sad because these restaurants become more and more common and the greasy spoons where you actually get to know the waitress and chef are becoming rarer and rarer by the day.
