He was one of the friendliest waiters we have ever had, he was quick, didn't miss a beat, had our drinks and food pretty quick, and explained thoroughly any questions we had about food and drinks here. Overall an enjoyable experience. Applebee's is usually consistent and did not disappoint this visit. The staff were hard working and attentive. We ordered the waffle fries appetizer and the kitchen had problems getting the order out. The manager visited our table and explained the problem, apologized, and comped the appetizer order. The main dishes were good: chicken fingers, mac and cheese something, and lime fiesta chicken; I ordered the grilled chicken dinner. Chicken was fully cooked and good taste. In MHO. this place is a clown show. Was greeted and escorted to a booth after a bit of a wait upon initially entering the premisis. Little did I know that was going to be the highlight of my visit. Upon being seated i was summarily ignored for more than 5 min., this inspite of a constant parade of wait staff going by my location. At this point I just wanted to see if anyone would step up and make any kind of contact. Alas, none was forthcoming.. Upon proceeding to leave, without ever having my presence in the restaurant acknowledged, I was approached at the door by a member of the wait staff and asked if everything was "ok"? I advised not at all and why. The reason for this post is really just to relate that upon conveying why I was leaving another member of the wait staff nearby within earshot actually laughed audibly. They kept the beer flowing, but it took over half an hour for our food to come out, and almost just as long for each new plate of 2 whole chicken tenders. You see, in Greensburg, we believe in hospitality and in feeding hungry strangers with good, homemade food. The riblets had these weird potato chip lookin bones all throughout, and the chicken tenders were a little overcooked. Not Greensburg quality. Not Greensburg service. They came fast and where alright however I found the wings too vinigery. For my main I got the whiskey bacon burger. The burger was big and hard to eat and made a bit of a mess. I was brought out 1 plate with everything, and one other plate with 2 riblets...no additional fries were offered and NOTHING else was offered to my date, who got the tenders. The food is fine, but the last couple times I've been their the service has been extremely sloooow. It wasn't even like when I went it was really crowded, but there were very few people in there. The only thing this restaurant chain is halfway good for is its drinks and appetizers. The entrees were loaded with salt. All I can say about the steak I ordered is bizarre! It sort of looked like steak, but the texture and taste were way off. It almost tasted like ham in some weird way. Not what it could be. It feels like the Franchise has fallen quite a bit. Table service is scarce, they have these annoying table screens, I guess there's no more refills on ice tea, and probably worst of all: the pop music cranks over your table distorted (brutal).
