This has to be one of the rudest experiences I have had in a long time, hence the reason I DO NOT EAT APPLEBEES. After coming in from a flight a coworker and I came into this location to get food as soon as we walk in the girl behind the bar, says "what yall want",? Others that worked at this restaurant were walking around cleaning up to close and they still had one hour before close. I asked the young lady behind bar how much time do we have she said 30 min, and then she disappeared we sat there for at least 10 minutes and no one ever came. So we left. A lady that passed us staying at the same hotel we were staying at went in and she was served. I will be notifying management of this behavior this is not a customer friendly restaurant! read more

The staff could have cared less if we were there. We never received a drink refill or our appetizer. Our steaks were supposed to be medium well and they were so burnt on the outside you could barely cut it with a knife but the inside was raw. 9/2/23: We were visiting from Dallas, TX and staying in Monroe. We placed a pick up order from Applebees located at 4911 Pecanland Monroe LA 71203 on 9/2/23 around 2140. TB#528. My wife called to place the order and specified "no pink" on our burgers. I went to pick it up, parked at the To Go window and waited for about five minutes. There was nobody at the window. My wife received a text to park at the curbside area, and we waited another five minutes. I walked inside, and a young lady greeted my. I told her that I was there to pick up an order, and she brought me to a table where a young man in a blue Applebees hat was sitting, conversing with a female. He said, "what do you need", in a tone that wasn't friendly. I felt that I was interrupting him. I told him, that I came to pick up an order, and he pointed me towards the bar. The bartender wasn't very friendly either, and did not apologize for my wait at the window, nor at curbside. We went home and started eating. My burger didn't taste right, and when I looked at it in the light, it was basically all pink inside. I felt ill and took indigestion medicine. The customer service at this location was non existent and the kitchen staff is putting customer's health at risk by preparing undercooked food. I am aware that meat continues to cook after it is taken off heat, so I can only imaging how my burger was when it was first taken off the flat iron. 9/7/23: I received a call from Christine (GM). Truly the worst service I've ever had at a restaurant. I placed a to-go order and when I went to pick it up the first 3 workers I asked completely ignored me. The 4th person I asked just said "white wall" and pointed to the corner of the restaurant. So I walked over there and waited again for someone to help me. If I could give 0 stars- I would. I work in the service industry so it takes a lot for me to sit down to write a review- much less what I'm about to say.....it's the first time that the entire process has broken down completely from hostess to waitstaff to kitchen to manager. I was waiting for the "What would you do?" cameras to show up. I know-I know- it's Applebees. But the reason I love Applebees is because typically no matter where I am in the country- I know I can go to an ABs and get a good plate. It's consistently good- no matter where or when. That's the beauty of ABs. It's cookie cutter. First- the actual meal experience: 1. Our food took 40 minutes. OK. It happens. But we were only 1 of 3 tables in the entire place. 2. My food was brought out 15 minutes before my husbands- I ordered the Bourbon St Steak- medium. It was hockey puck well done. There was no denying it sat in the window for a very long time. The onions and mushrooms were burnt onto the sizzle plate. The mashed potatoes were a slimy mess that had probably been re heated several days in a row. We were told my husbands meal would be "right out"- just waiting on the chicken fingers. I was done with mine long before it came out. 3. His dish was the 4 cheese mac n cheese and chicken fingers. We could tell it sat in the window for at least the 15 minutes it took for me to eat my plate. The sauce was broken- oil puddled on top- runny gross whatever it was on the bottom of the bowl with dried cooked on pasta all over the plate rim. My husband took a single bite of the chicken finger and elected to not eat anymore of the dish. We only saw our waitress when she took our order- dropped off my husbands food- and when we flagged her down to get our check... otherwise she literally was in the bathroom the entire time- on her phone- or in the kitchen. She never asked how anything was. When we stopped the manager on his way through regarding the food- he honestly could not have cared less. We were NOT jerks about it. We work in the business. We hated that we even were going to say something. He offered a remake. My husband politely said "no thank you- we have a very long ride home. We do need to get going. Im not going to eat this though." The manager just stood awkwardly off the to the diagonal side of my husband - shook his head and said "yup" and walked away. We didn't want to send it back, because let's be honest- we all know why you don't do that....my husband didn't take more than a bite- so we thought maybe he would have at least offered to comp it. Nope. Not a word. Just walked away. We flag down our waitress and ask for the check. She never asked how our food was- never asked if there was problem- (seeing an untouched plate) never offered to box anything up. Just took our card- ran it and dropped it on the table with a pen that didn't write. Now- the ordeal while we sat and waited for food. There was a young man who was a server- who was off the clock- sitting next to us. He was having his pre shift meal. The ENTIRE time- he chased the manager and complained very loudly in front of all the customers (not many of us but still) about the hostess and her seating style. He was relentless, even after being told "I'll speak to her, don't start any trouble, you're not even on the clock it doesn't concern you, and finally- please just stop or go home." We got to sit and listen to him gripe to every other employee who walked by or would listen- about everything. He followed managers and employees into the kitchen and all over the place. It was not professional- not handled on either end- and eventually we were there long enough to watch all the waitstaff- and managers- basically hide from him in the kitchen. He went over to a table out of uniform wearing jeans, a red dirty t-shirt and a marked up denim jacket after they had been sat and greeted by a server- and took their drink order- out of turn and out of rotation- and not on the clock.....and again another ruckus ensued. If he WAS on the clock- knowing AB uniform standards and the hiring process (Yes- I worked for an ABs for years)- Im shocked it was permitted. I couldn't imagine if Corp had stopped in- or if we were secret shoppers.....or are we....? One just never knows and I couldn't believe what we were seeing. Sooooooo- needless to say- we will never come back to this Applebees. If the world were flooded with p!ss- and this Applebee's was in a tree house- we'd choose to starve instead. Absolutely horrible. Normally when just one piece of the entire experience breaks down, one can say "you know- maybe they are just having a bad day". This was not that day. read more

Came in on a trip and Tesla supercharger is pretty close. Stopped in for a quick eat. They took our order brought my wife's food only and then said the other two items would be ready shortly. I looked up and the waitress is using a vape at the bar. So i go ask and tell them i need to hurry to leave and they come back and say it's another 5 minutes so now we are at 15 minutes after my wife's food comes. I order a kids cheese pizza and they then say it's still being worked on and bring my kid some fries and a breadstick. Wow the food and drinks were delicious. Everything was seasoned so well and very hot upon arrival. The drinks were out quickly. Our waitress was very nice, punctual and attentive. Her name was Carla I believe. We did not have to wait longer than 5 minutes to be seated and this was during lunch time. She came right over as soon as we sat down which was a plus. I've been seated other places an still had to wait. I had my doubts after not eating here for years due to bad customer service at one point years ago but they have turned things around big time and I will be back. If I could give zero stars I would. We had an absolute horrendous experience here last night. 1. They were out of Tito's vodka. They have Tito's based cocktails featured on their menu. How do you run out of an ingredient that is featured on your menu? 2. We were told by our sever the bartender wanted to substitute crown Royal for the vodka. In what universe are whisky and vodka the same liquor? 3. We ordered a dirty grey goose martini. The drink came out with a salted rim, olives, olive juice and sour mix. He made a dirty vodka margarita. WTH? 4. We ordered five appetizers for the table and the first toe cosmetics our stone cold. At this point I asked to see the manager. When Saed Blake cam to the table he came with an attitude that we didn't order. I explained the issues and he said "What do you want me to do about it?" in a tone that can only be described as hostile. At this point I told him we would be leaving and would not be paying for anything. He said "that's not how this works, you ate some of the food." I told him that, indeed l, that was how it worked and we would not be paying. At this point his eyes narrowed and I could tell he was about to explode when the next words were for us to leave before he called police. Yes. This was by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. I brought my daughter and friends for a quick bite to eat before a movie and the food was either undercooked or burned. This was after we waited forever to get our food and drinks and had to repeatedly ask for silverware to eat. What bothered me is the other customers had regular utensils and we were given plastic. My niece sent her cold and burned burger back for them to sent it back more burned than before. Our drinks were lemonades that tasted like pure water! When my niece refused to pay for her burger the cook tried to convince her it was a different freshly made patty that was cold. I asked for the manger but they never came. As soon as I walk in... I hear a man in a blue shirt with a long ponytail saying something about, "...getting ready to shut it down..." to the "Hostess" and proceeds to storm away in a rude manner, seemingly frustrated or angered by something... He walks right by never even looks up to acknowledge me or any of the other guests there!!! It was a very awkward and uninviting atmosphere to walk into... The "Hostess" takes a family that was standing there when I walked in to a table and doesn't come back... She stops at a table and engages in conversation with some young men... No One EVER acknowledged me, welcomed me or in any way made me think that my presence or the money I was about to spend meant anything to them... So, I left and went to Olive Garden!!! The convenience of this location appeared to be a blessing because I have no sense of direction and struggle, even with GPS, when in an unfamiliar place... But I would've rathered get lost and be stranded in Monroe, LA than to give this place one penny of my hard-earned money. read more

We walk in and not greeted, everyone was sitting in last table of bar area nearest the kitchen. There were menus on top of every table, so that was good. Not very busy ( now I know why) We looked and our waitress pulled herself away from her friends co-workers. Ordered drinks... I saw drinks sitting on bar 5 mins before she decided to bring them over... took our food order, no tablet or note pad, only two of us. Applebee's is my favorite restaurant in the West Monroe area!!! The wait wasn't too long, so their service is great! Last time I went there we chose the back area to sit in the building, and we were greeted by this sweet lady with a southern accent! I chose to get the chicken strips and French fries with honey mustard, and the chicken strips were so good that I decided this was my favorite place to get chicken! The food was fresh and straight out of the oven! The service was AMAZING The drinks are great! The people were nice and did NOT get our order wrong, and there were about 7 or 8 people! I stayed at the hotel directly next to this Applebee's so when I felt hungry going here seemed like a no-brainer. I've never been to an Applebee's before so I checked out the reviews before and was shocked at the large amount of 1-Star and 2-Star reviews.....admittedly I was skeptical of giving it a try. But -- I did so anyways because I was hungry and ribs plus a $3 brownie/ice-cream dessert seemed tempting to me. I placed my order online and headed to pick it up 20 minutes later. Now the restaurant wasn't in the best shape inside but the staff was relatively friendly or at-least assistive. I asked about my pick up order but sadly it was overlooked and they hadn't even picked it up yet. I really didn't mind waiting an extra 10-15 minutes so I did just that. Staff was apologetic about the wait so it was all good for me.....they were busy so I understand. Now on to the important part....the taste of the food. Ribs were small (upset that I was too hungry to even take a photo of it for y'all) but damn -- it was good. For $13 anyways. I got the broccoli and fried and despite previous reviews, my food was hot and fully cooked.l throughout. Everything tasted A-Okay but sadly no condiments like Ketchup was put into my bag. As for the dessert.....a small but really delicious piece of fudge brownie and small scoop of vanilla ice cream really satisfied my sweet tooth (and it was under $3!). All-in-all I'm glad I decided to give this Applebee's a try despite it's lack of better reviews. The food was pretty delicious and the little dessert too. Service was good. I will never eat at applebees again. From reading the reviews the other former customers have summed it up. Very dark atmosphere. The carpet has a unpleasant smell, i suggest it be removed. The drinks are expensive and watered down. I had my drink replaced and the second was watered down as well. The entree was unbelievable. It was prepared as if it was a microwave dinner. This was not my first occasion of having this experience. This last experience just showed me that it was time to cut ties with Applebees in Monroe. The servers are polite, they do the best they can with the circumstances they are given, I guess! I'm not sure how this restaurant is still operating. Yea we spent over $50 for food we took home and did not eat. We did this twice and received the exact same results! The food looks like it's a microwave meal! Basic! I haven't been to Applebees in quite a while after a few not so great experiences. I recently heard from a friend that it had greatly improved. I was in the area running errands and they weren't very busy so I decided to stop and get what used to be a favorite, the Oriental Chicken Salad. I ordered it and was surprised to find it looked just like the picture! The lettuce was all fresh and the generous portion of chicken was good with just the right amount of salad dressing. I loved the salad and my waitress, Alexis, was the icing on the cake. She was the kind of waitress everyone wants when they go in a restaurant with a short amount of time during lunch rush. Don't believe in throwing food out but it wasn't the way it should have been. Applebee's used to be my favorite dinner spot. Not anymore. The steak was so thin you couldn't order med rare it came done it was grisly and hard to chew. The potatoes looked like instant and the broccoli was tiny pieces like frozen selection. This Applebees is located near the Pecanland Mall in Monroe, right next to a Courtyard Marriott in which I was staying. My experience was good, and typical for an Applebee's (Ive been to many). Since I was traveling on business, I was alone and sat up at the bar. The bartender was friendly and engaging, and was quick to make sure I always had what I needed. I had the Cheeseburger quesidilla and small Caesar salad. The salad was a little dry and underwhelming, but the quesadilla was good. All in all, I enjoyed the meal.
