Food 2 Service 1 Price 3 But the sangria was decent... New Year's Eve, 630ish as a party of 5. We had called ahead and were advised to come as walk ins as it wasn't very busy. We were seated rather quickly and given menus / asked for drink orders that's where the positives end. The drinks came 20min later (650) & the gal still wasn't ready to take our food order. About 10min after delivering drinks (7), our food order was taken. Now, I know this isn't fast food but it isn't a scratch kitchen either. I've no doubt staff had called in/taken off with it being NYE. Still, it was over half an hour before the food came out (745)- of course drinks were gone by now. One patron asked for water. It came with the rcpt an hour later. We had braced ourselves for the worst after watching 2 other tables return food & seeing who I presume was a manager come offer to make things right for another table, with the patron having refused the food/replacement. I had the chicken wonton tacos app, that was ok. My hubs ordered the fiesta chicken and it was inedible. I'd guess it had been sitting there since before we arrived. The rice was dry & crunchy, yes, rice that you could hear the crunch from. The dish was also at room temperature. We attempted to flag down the server for our bill right at 8pm (we had a 9pm event, which is why I was watching the time). She said she'd be there in a moment then cleared 2 tables and disappeared in the back. At 815, she came back to the table - I just handed over the credit card and advised we were ready to pay. (We had not complained, we didn't send anything back. We really just wanted to go at this point.) She placed the card on the table and said she'd be back with the bill. It was now 830 and we were starting to get pretty annoyed. This is about when she showed up with the bill, laid it next to the card and started to leave. I said "hold up" and handed the card/bill to her stating that we were ready to pay. She hesitantly accepted the bill and card, then went to clear a table, instead of to the till. She stopped by and dropped off the requested water. We were laughing in awe at this point. 855pm... it was 855pm when she brought the card back. It was steady, but not crazy busy. I cannot fathom how it took 630-9pm, 2.5hrs to eat at a fast casual restaurant. One round of drinks & one order of food, which was old & crusty - plus, we were ready to order on arrival. We thought we were going to need to kill time, as we thought we would be too early for our 9pm event with 630pm dining - instead, we were over 15min late to arrive... sigh read more

Minot Applebees is decent restaurant to go to. They took off a lot of food on their menu. The food is average. I ordered the Bacon Ranch Crispy Chicken Sandwich with fries. It was okay, nothing crazy good or bad. The bun was way overcooked & the sandwich fell apart when i picked it up. The Four-Cheese Mac & Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders was a bit better. The pasta was a bit overcooked but still tasty. The hostess was amazing, and quickly sat us down as soon as we entered the restaurant. The waitress was nice & was busy with a lot of tables. She took care of us the best she could. The restaurant itself is a decent size. It's clean for the most part. They have a space in the way back for large groups or parties. The parking lot is SMALL. FYI, you might have to park in the hotel parking lot if it's full. read more

Very fast pleasant service. Multiple employees acknowledged the table in some aspect. The restaurant is very clean, as usual. I visit every time I'm passing through or catching a flight. We shared the two for $35 special that includes the appetizer and we chose the 8 ounce steaks with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The only concern I had was with the very greasy chips that came with these spinach dip. The steaks were cooked perfectly , the potatoes were fluffy, and the broccoli was not overcooked. This actually was a perfect portion to not leave you overstuffed but feeling full. The bartender who is our server, showed knowledge of the menu, checked on the table at exact proper timing. All the staff was visibly very professional and pleasant. As a restaurant owner for many years, my one pet peeve is dishes that sit dirty on the table or looking at other tables not being cleaned while the staff sits around. I will say while we were there the restaurant was full as we came just at the end of supper and as the tables left, they were cleaned immediately The second I pushed a plate to the side, one of the staff would grab and take. It shows a lot of a team environment when you see a group of people work together so well. I have been in places and watched staff walk passed and not grab an empty plate because it wasn't their table. But this group all worked together. Awesome experience. It was a Tuesday night and the bartender was more interested in talking negatively about the patrons with 3 other employees at the bar than taking care of patrons. Everyone left happy and satisfied with their meals. We had a large party and they sat us in a nice private area in the back where we could fit our whole family and sit together. I don't know what happened to Applebee's. The last time I ordered ribs they were to die for. They were so moist and tender you didn't even need to chew them. My husband and I placed an order for the same ribs and had them delivered by Door Dash. The ribs were tough and beneath the barbecue sauce the meat tasted like it had been cooked in a regular oven without any seasoning or spices, with barbecue sauce slathered on top in the last few minutes of cooking. The mashed potatoes were flavorless and so was the coleslaw, what miniscule amount was in the container. So disappointing. read more

Waited for 30 minutes for a burger that was supposed to be cook medium, when it finally arrived, it was very well don and swimming in some type of oil, I'd like to say it was grease but I'm not sure. One waitress waiting on more tables than I could count. This is at 315 on a Saturday afternoon, in an area around a mall? The waitress only came back to my table to bring the food, then again to ask about dessert, she asked everyone else around me if they wanted refills on their drinks. Guess she just missed me? A person in a party of six sitting at a table near me spilled his drink on the table and floor around him. Another waitress saw it happen and never offered to help. No one came to help clean up the spill of ice and liquid? They did bring him another drink and more napkins as he'd used all they had on the table to try, in vane, to soak up the spill from the table and floor. The soak material remained on the floor the entire time. Liability if someone slips??? A different party that included kids, finished and left the place. While at the table, the kid removed packets of sugar and whatever else was in the container on the table and were playing with them, wiping the packets on each others faces, throwing them in the air and found rowdy kids kinda things. The kids put the packets inside one of the menu type folders that are typically on the tables. A server came to clean the table once the party left and she straightened the packets and placed them right back into the container. Never use the sugar packets from the container at the facility. Mediocre Don't come if you're looking for service with a smile the staff is unbelievably rude. They're also very slow we waited 15 mins for someone to take my drink order, then waited 45 mins for my food and appetizer to come at the same time. The best part that almost everything we got was cold or room temperature at best. Most of it was wrong too but we were at the point that we just wanted to eat and leave. Additionally this isn't about the food but the bathroom looks like it belongs to a sketchy gas station not a National restaurant chain. I'm grading this based on the fact that its a chain and I'm comparing this to other Applebee's. Most chain restaurants rarely fare more than 3 stars. The only time they deserve four is when their pre-made food is executed perfectly and service is exceptional. This outpost is neither of those. The place was rather crowded even for a Wednesday evening. I'm assuming the Comfort Inn next door plays a key role in that. I attended with a few friends that have been in Minot for a while. The first thing you notice is that the place is easily 10° colder than outside. My female friend admitted that the place is always cold and she regretted not wearing sleeves. In their last trip she went so far as to order hot cocoa. The food was sub-par. We waited a little over 20 mins for our food. 2/3 entrees ordered had issues. My steak was ordered mid but came out well. I also got to bite into a large chunk of garlic in my potatoes. My friends meal was missing a side. Service wasn't any better. The waitress wasn't pleasant. Out food runner slammed the plates. Except for mine. She handed it to me when it was still clearly hot enough for her to need a towel. Will I go back? Probably. It's Applebee's so I don't expect much. This Applebee's is the same as any other. Just ok. Super busy since there aren't many restaurants in town. The Mozzarella Sticks were your standard sticks, over priced, frozen but good and there are about 8-10 per order. The Blackened Chicken Penne Pasta was bland. The chicken wasn't blackened, it seemed like a frozen pre grilled piece of chicken and the spinach wasn't even cooked. The Husband had a Bacon Cheese Burger and said it was really good. My son ordered Chicken Strips Kids Meal with Broccoli and it looked good, nothing special, your standard frozen strips but tasty. The Broccoli was steamed nicely. I posted pics, check them out! This is hands down the WORST Applebee's in North Dakota. The service is horrible the kitchen is inconsistent. On multiple occasions a server has messed up when putting in my order and blamed me for it then when I actually recorded the order and played it back to her she said that wasn't what I ordered. Went to have dinner with a friend and it was a super busy Monday night, all the Minotians out having a good old time. Very friendly and busy with families and all kinds of groups. Lots of socializing among people who seemed to know each other - go figure, small town ! Anyway, my meal was excellent - the quesedilla burger and fries - and my friend's steak looked very good. If I could give this location 0 stars I would. Went to Applebee's with my family the other night and ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. It is suppose to come with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and ranch sauce. I ordered it with no tomato, onion, and pickles. When the sandwich came out it had nothing but the chicken on it. Because our waitress never came back to check on us I couldn't get this corrected. I then bit into my sandwich and it was very chewy. Assuming it was maybe just a piece of fat that didn't get trimmed off I spit it into my napkin and attempted to eat two more bites. Finally I cut the sandwich in half and noticed a PINK center. The chicken was RAW. Now they did take the $11.99 off of our bill but that's no consolation to the food poisoning I've been battling the past two days. Thanks Applebee's read more

This is a great place. Not sure why all the haters they must just be those "elite foodies" but my food has always been good. The staff has always been accommodating and friendly. The posts about out of towners and oil workers is your typical tash talk of people that don't want change. If you want taste and decent food at a good price then this will work. I am a long time patron of Applebee's and at a fair number of locations and have always enjoyed my experiences there. That being said, my experience at this location was.....bad. I ordered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and they came with burnt marinara sauce. My waiter was kind enough to go back to the kitchen and try to get more, but what he brought back was also burnt. He admitted that the second portion came from the same batch as the first and that the cook simply scooped it from the bottom. When the manager came out she lied and said that the second portion was "fresh". When I explained to her that her staff had already informed me that it was not at all fresh, she tried to convince me that because it came from the bottom of the sauce bin it was not burnt. We eneded up canceling our entire order and going somewhere else to eat. I will never return to this location again all because I was lied to. read more

The place seem to be very busy, and the server when we walked in didn't have a smile or a greeting nothing.. people there seem kinda rude. The waitress was in a hurry and rushed us to order. And wasn't around after the food got to our table. The people there that was eating there were giving us dirty looks due because we have children with us . And the kids were quiet the whole time. The only thing good was the food. Other then that nothing else was. Most Applebee's would rate as average (around 3 stars, 4 if they have a good wait staff); the food being the same across the country (mostly frozen, premade stuff). This one is over crowded with a staff that doesn't care and the food quality is unpredictable ranging from average to bad. Mostly what you find here are oil workers and out of towners who just want a place to get drunk and don't care about the food quality, so neither does the staff. read more

Berry refresher drink The nachos were amazing and I'm from south Texas. Very good food. I was very impressed by their new menu and will definitely be returning. Service/staff were very tentative and friendly. The clubhouse grille had all sorts of awesome flavors like a sweet, smokehouse, salty flavor. The dill cucumbers on the side had like 6 different flavors in it: sweet salty and then wait a little longer and you get a spicy kick. Garlic Parmesan fries were awesome. They had a lot of different foods and choices: Asian, Mexican, American - hearty food. Didn't try their steaks but they're not a steakhouse so I wasn't sure about ordering that. 5 stars all the way. The past couple times ive gone too Applebee's its not been good at all. Waiting for our table the staff & mgmt were arguing in front of us. We were seated in the very back, when it wasnt busy at all, and when we got to the back looked like all the staff were on their lunch breaks just hanging out. Our server was very rude. All the tables were dirty and the floor not vaccuumed. We were the only ones seated back there(??) Also, the manager there that wears glasses (michael maybe) is one of the rudest people ive ever come into contact with. Hes rude to his staff in front of guests, and rude to the guests. The food was not prepared as I ordered it. I do not like food that burns my mouth. I sent it back and got the same thing back. I have been in this place twice and had to send the meal back. The food is over salted. The use of seasoning must be covering something up. I was offered coupons and got the meal at a reduced rate. This restaurant will not be patronized by me again. The restaurant has problems with food preparation. The place does not listen to dietary requests. I will not eat food that burns all the way through the body. I have only been here a few times and normally it's okay but the last time I went on Monday, 5/28/2012, it was disgusting. Okay, service was good for Minot, the place is clean, and is quite busy. However the food this time was disgustingly salty that we couldn't eat it. The four of us did a 2 for $20 and shared our appetizers. The Queso Blanco was served with tortilla chips and the queso was tasty that we almost licked the plate clean, but the chips were horrendously salty! I wiped off the salt off of one chip and it COATED my small sharing plate. We complained and got a new batch, which had a lot of salt as well, but we thought not to complain anymore because we wouldn't want our food to be messed with and figured there wouldn't be a change since this basket of chips were bad as well. The boneless wings with the sweet and spicy sauce were good (not dry and had a good bite to it). Not my favorite sauce but that is a favorite of one of my friends. The blackened chicken penne was tasty. The noodles were served el dente with a light cream Alfredo with cooked spinach, diced tomato, Parmesan cheese, and slices of slightly tender blackened chicken breast. The bourbon street chicken and shrimp was another story. The shrimp was cooked well. They were tender and juicy with a good flavor. The chicken was cooked well but was coated with a bit too much salt but shaving off some of the crust helped. The potatoes had the same issue as the chips! I saw a layer of salt on my food and others who had any starch on it had the same issue. We were all thoroughly disgusted with how much salt there was in our meal after complaining once. We mentioned the amount of salt which shocked our waitress but we thought to be nice and not send the plates back. Overall, the server was very sweet and the place is nice. This may be an isolated incident, but I think the next time I'll ever go here is if my friends force me to come here. I'd rather not die of diabetes eating here or have to scrape the salt of my food in order for it to be edible. Even the guy who literally adds salt to everything couldn't even the food and started scraping off the salt. Maybe if they rethink the amount of salt they add or teach the cook that day that with salt, sometimes less is more, then I'll consider coming back. read more

I was hesitant to try this Applebee's since I have had bad experiences at other locations, I'm glad I did though because this is great "fast casual". The menu changes often and the 2 for $20 or $25 makes it a favorite for a dinner and a movie date without a large price tag. The burgers are a bit dry and bland compared to JL Beers, but the mac and cheese and butcher's meat + potatoes are both winners. As people who usually share a dessert the Triple Chocolate Meltdown is delicious as the perfect size for two! My husband loved the Fireball lemonade but cocktail menu is a little too fruity for me.
