The food wasn't the best lol but I'm not mad because I paid only half price. The food here is okay but I wouldn't come here for a fancy dinner. Honestly, my chips that came with the spin dip were stale. My loaded waffle fries were way too cheesy it made my fries soggy after like 2 minutes. Our waitress was great though so props to her. She was friendly and attentive and super kind. We didn't wait long at all for anything and she was quick. If you're coming for half price apps, they start at 10pm and it's everyday. read more

We were there for lunch. I ordered the chicken bacon off the lunch menu. Terrible. Obviously they fried the chicken in theaame fryer thedo thefts in hence the chicken tasted like fish. This was our 2nd time there in the last month or so. We will not be going back. Does appear it is kept up very well either. Place was empty I think I know why. Me and my wife went to the Applebee's in East Brunswick on Thursday. We sat at the booth for at least 10 minutes. No one came to take our order. I asked my wife. Let's get up to leave upon leaving. I asked to speak to the manager who instead of apologizing or making some other excuse, said, let me see who is working in that area. This review is for our service last night. Our server was a young man, Samuel. He was amazing and provided great service. Very friendly, attentive. He was so polite. At the table next to us, a little boy got sick and Samuel was trying his best to do what he could to help the mom, which was awesome. We let the manager know how happy we were because it's been a long time since we've had such a great experience with a server. He has restored my faith in this new generation. The service was horrendous. The place was very busy this night. Although there were several open tables, no one was being seated - maybe they were short staffed - I'm not sure. I believe this made the host anxious which exuded in her interactions with the customers. My friends and I did not feel welcome. So, we decided to sit at the bar. Upon entering, there was no hand sanitizer in the dispenser and we were notified there were no boneless wings immediately. That was our greeting. "We're out of boneless wings" - no welcome or hello. Listen: I don't do this much. I'm not a yelper of any sort. But this Applebees is an absolute godsend. It starts with the service. A friendly smile as I step in. Understanding when our party numbered 11. A waitress who helped me manage my options and my menu when my hot coffee came. Then the atmosphere. A total delight. Nice ambient lighting, filling the space with warm reds and greens. The food itself was pretty good as well. A four cheese mac and cheese with hot chicken tenders tickled my palate with wonder. The aforementioned coffee warmed my belly on a cold winter night. I capped the meal off with a wonderous triple chocolate meltdown-- Applebee's signature fudgy, creamy, heartwarming desert! To top the night off, I patroned the blind store right next door, conveniently connected to the store. A truely wonderful night full of good food, drinks, and friends. I ordered food for my son and I. They burnt his steak and they overcooked my hamburger. What's more, my burger smelled like perfume. Also, some times the tip screen doesn't come up when you order online. So even if your curbside, they won't come to your regardless if you chose "curbside". They want you to come in and get your food so they can give you the receipt that has the part with a tip. A little scam they have. As a couple of us were eating, a youngster walked up to our table trying to sell us candy raising money for school basketball for $5.00 a piece. We were shocked and taken off guard. Apparently the parent or guardian must work there because after trying to sell around the bar area and to other customers, the youngster walked into the kitchen. Applebee's was my spot in college, cheap apps and drinks that helped me survived the few years of late night studying! Since graduating, I like to occasionally go back to Applebee's and relive the nostalgia. It's sad to say this is not the location for it; always understaffed to the point where it took my family and I 20 minutes for drinks and close to an hour for our food during lunch time... The food was good. That's the only positive thing I can say. The bartender had no idea how to make the new sassy unicorn mocktail, we had no utensils, no napkins, our waiter didn't bother giving us his name, we finished our meal and waited 15 minutes while he kept looking at our empty plates and walking by us. I frequent here quite often, on account of my slight obsession with the Oriental Chicken Salad. I'm not a salad person at all. I never order salads out because well that's pretty boring in my opinion. But this salad is the opposite of boring. There's so much crunch and flavor going on! I get the crispy chicken with EXTRA oriental dressing because that stuff I could slurp like a smoothie. Anyways, if I'm not in the mood for the Oriental Chicken Salad, which is RARE, then I would get the three cheese chicken penne or the chicken tenders and fries.
