Third time here, third time disappointed. First off, no a/c, it was not working. Interior was hot and humid. Not able to enjoy meal. With all the window blinds down restaurant was very dark. Kids pizza looked bad, I ordered a grilled chicken ceaser salad extra chicken, no croutons. Got croutons and no extra chicken. Guess server forgot because it was, n't even on the check. No check backs, two different people brought us our food. Never touched my salad, server didn't even notice, or care, not sure which. I'm going with did not care. She was never seen. Had to ask another server for the check. A complete waste of $58.13. Will definitely not be going back, at least at this location. read more

always come here with my sister as her "dd" designated driver never had an issue before we usually come a little later and my sister orders her 2 drink and i order my food this time its her birthday today and they check her Id as usual bit then the general manager Abby comes over and ask to see it again and says yeps "looks just like you" and the server comes back over and say oh we always have to double check Ids under 25 I read the policy and long story short no they don't. If you're into drama and/or witnessing the enabling of bully type behavior - than this place is for you! At the bar during lunch hours. All the women do is talk about one another in a negative way - similar to the "mean girls club". What makes it worse is the manager thrives/craves these conversations. It's out loud and during business hours at the bar. No one wants to hear them complain like high schoolers. I'm there enjoy my lunch; sometimes while working (remotely). It's such an annoyance, and an embarrassment for those who are involved. Absolutely disgusting behavior. If there's an issue - it should be addressed in a professional manner. The manager here refuses to stop it but rather participates. I hope this helps. I'm a long time regular and I'm over it. Applebees in Maumee on Dussell has really gone downhill. The service is bad, the tables are sticky and dirty and the manager acted like he hadn't even graduated high school. This used to be a nice place, but we were so disappointed. The sautéed onions weren't cooked and still hard, the waitress kept forgetting our drink refills. Someone behind us called the manager to complain about their meal. There was only 6 customers in the entire place, and I guess this explains why. read more

The food was good but the reason for the missing stars, was because when we first arrived there were people waiting and many extra EMPTY tables. We were told there would be a 25 minute wait. I asked why and was told it was because they didn't have enough wait-staff. So while we waited for a text letting us know we were next. I watched 4 wait staff over by the bar, joking around and looking at their cell phones. We had dinner, part of their "2 for $20" and we were finishing up when I noticed our waiter coming up to where the restaurant had stuff set aside, Items for a new table set up; like silverware as well to go boxes. He slid his hands into his sweat-laced hair and scratched his head well and then grabbed glasses and silverware with hands that he didn't wash first. It was really off-putting and made my freshly eaten meal sour in my stomach. Made me wonder what training these wait-staff were given even if it wasn't during the pandemic, the way he had his hands was neither appetizing nor proper. I ordered Applebee's Grill & Bar last night and had it delivered to my hotel by grub hub, the lady who delivered it was nice, clean and proper. My food was ok but I did find a small hair (figured it may have been mine, I'm rethinking that now) my drink tasted horrid. I took 2 sips and never finished it. I left it sit on the night stand and happened to look over at it tonight and found a disgusting white slime floating in the drink. It appears to have hair and other things in it. Went at 4 in the afternoon, very few customers were in the restaurant. We were seated very quickly and told the name of our server(Kay). After 20 mins of no one coming to our table after multiple severs walked past, some were even putting up decorations, and many were standing at the bar talking we left. read more

The food was tasty. I had a side Caesar salad with a piece of blackened salmon on top. My husband had the chicken bowl. He said the chimichirri sauce was spicy but as long as he had the other foods to eat with it, it was OK. Our server, Claire, was lovely. But the music was awful! I've never been a fan of Applebee's. I always have an issue finding something that sounds appealing to me. I went with my daughter and decided to try the chicken tenders salad. Please note: This is not a review of the food, but a review of the service offered by this Applebee's for those who order to go. I have tried to use the car side to go service twice at this location, both times have been a terrible experience which has prompted this review. The service is advertised that you order online, pull up at your quoted pick up time to the "carside to go" parking spot, and your order is brought to you by an attendant watching for your arrival. You do not call or anything upon arrival, as you give them the description of your vehicle when ordering. Today I ordered at 4:26pm. I was told online my food would be ready in 15 minutes (4:41pm) Giving a few extra minutes for them to prepare the food, I arrived at the carside to go spot later than my quoted pick up time at 4:48pm. After waiting 8 minutes (4:56) I called the restaurant to let them know i was here and waiting. I was told someone would be right out. After 13 more minutes I called in again (5:09). I explained I had called in once already, and had been waiting more than 20 minutes. Finally my food was brought out at 5:13pm. As mentioned this is my second time using this service. The first time I waited for more than 20 minutes in the parking lot also. Now I know it was not a fluke, and this is how this location operates. Today it took 47 minutes from the time I ordered to get my food which was quoted online to be ready in 15min at 4:41pm or at least by the "pick up time" on the very receipt I was given of 4:46pm. Instead It was 5:13. additional notes: there are three carside to go parking spots, I was the only one waiting. In addition the restaurant was not packed during this time. One may say I should have gone in instead of waiting but with a baby in the car and a pregnant wife waiting on this food at home I used this service for the convenience. This service has been disappointing to say the least. I do not recommend this service to anyone (at least at this location). Absolutely awful. read more

We had a blast. We went with a small group and ended with a large group. The manager "Troy" (I think) was overwhelmed but thankfully understanding of our situation. Jr was our server, she was so funny and great for this large group of baseball crazies. We couldn't thank them enough for the hospitality since it had started with the 10 and ended with 28. It was the last twenty mins and they accommodated us with no complaints. Though really only about half ate or had drinks they could have turned us away not knowing what was the outcome. Not great. It was fairly busy. The waitress gets drinks and takes order and someone else delivered meal. Burger was overcooked = well done. I ordered light pink center. Took a while to get food and as it arrived manager checked on us asking about food. Didn't know it was overcooked at the time. I believe waitress checked on us twice afterward but I hate complaining. 2-26-21/If I could give zero stars to the Applebee's on Dussel Dr. in Maumee Ohio, I would. We were a party of ten and 1 baby for which we needed a high chair. When we got to the restaurant they told us there would be a 45 minute wait. We waited an hour and a half and then were seated in an area that could not have a high chair even though they knew we needed one. We waited 45 minutes after ordering for our beverages to come out. It was another half hour at least before the food came out. The two chicken Alfredo's that were ordered had something wrong with them because the people in our party wouldn't eat them. The manager just made excuse after excuse. He never offered even a free dessert or anything, even though he knew we were there for a birthday and he even asked us who's birthday it was. Not that we really wanted it. He asked why they didn't send the Alfredos back. We had already waited two hours to get our food initially. The two ladies didn't want to wait any longer so they just didn't eat. When I spoke to the manager before leaving, he said I did my best. I said I have to disagree. You should have let us know as soon as you found out you weren't going to be able to seat us where we could have a highchair, texted us in the car to let us know that. We would have gone somewhere else. I know that's why they didn't let us know. They wanted our money. 10 people is a big party. VERY POOR business practices. read more

Applebee's is Applebee's when it comes to appearance and food no matter which location you go to with little variation, so it is up to the server to define the establishment. Food was fine, the presentation was appetizing and neat and the flavor was good. The long island ice teas were very good, makes it into the top ranking of long islands I've had. Our server, Chris G., was awesome. We were a party of 6 who came in about half an hour until close for post-wedding drinks and hors d'oeurves (11:30pm on a Saturday), a time when many servers would be a**holes just wanting you to get out so they can close quickly; instead, Chris happily served us with no air of a rush. He checked on us frequently, got our food and drinks to us in a timely fashion, exchanged some friendly chit chat, and all in all represented Applebee's well. You've got yourself a good employee there. This Applebee's is located right next to the County Inn and Suites of Maumee, so guests staying at the hotel get a 10% discount when they dine here. Yes, this is just another Applebee's, but Chris earned them the 4 star. read more

After a long day of driving and meetings we decided to go to the restaurant in the adjacent parking lot, it happened to be an Applebees. Typically I steer clear of eating good in the neighborhood, however we decided the convenience was key tonight. We were sat quickly and handed a menu that appeared to be new and a bit more exciting. This location served Yeungling which gave them a good mark out of the gate. Our serves was very friendly and attentive. Believe it or not the food was actually pretty good! Would I seek out an Applebees in the future...definitely not, but in a pinch it's not a bad idea. Food was good and the service was great. Nice job! read more

Music wasn't too loud, wasn't too cold. Excellent. Well staffed with like able people. I got to go from the bar and the Chicken was tender and tasty, mashed potatoes where creamy and had a spivey kick with jalapeño and the wedge salad was fresh and crisp. The bartender was nice and they had a selection of national brews on tap and one local - Yuengling. I enjoyed two of those as I waited for my food. Glad I came here. When I Yelped it did not pop up as an option but when I walked out the hotel door and saw it I found it to be very convenient and a solid option due to their success tonite. Applebee's in Maumee needs some SERIOUS attention from upper management. Our party had a horrendous experience here, especially after visiting many other locations. Maumee Applebee's has some major work to do when it comes to service. Our waitress was very obviously not ready to be in her position as she was a new hire. That would've been understandable if every single thing didn't need repeating more than twice. Sides came out before the main entree. Things moved VERY slowly, our drinks sat on the bar and the appetizer came before the drinks that we could see were done. We ordered a salad to go and it came to the table plated. When attempting to inform the manager he was about as responsive as a pet rock. We were clear that we were not seeking any discount or comp on our meal but were simply pointing out areas that needed much attention. After all this we waited over 20 more minutes for to go boxes. Absolutely will not be returning to this location. The only reason they get 2 stars and not 1 is that the food came out great when it finally did arrive. read more

We got curbside service here. Ordered ahead and it was ready in about 15-20 minutes. We were able to pick out all our sides, sauces, and customizations online. We paid online and just needed to sign the receipt when we picked it up. I found a new favorite dish - their grilled lime chicken! My fiance and I went here on a Sunday evening. Was not busy at all. Our server was ok, not bad but not great. We ordered a steak medium rare and it came out well done. Fine, server asked if we wanted a new one which we said yes. The manager brought the new steak out. He did not apologize, all he said was " Is this rare enough for you?", and he walked away. I never feel more like a middle-class, Midwestern, white dude than when I go to Applebee's. It's like the Gap of chain restaurants. This Applebee's has been open for ages, yet no one has reviewed it yet. Hmmm, I'm guessing that's because it's freaking Applebee's and everyone knows what to expect. I mean really, who checks out a review for Applebee's before going there? This particular Applebee's is just like all the others you've seen, and you know exactly what you are going to get: mostly decent food (not bad but nothing truly memorable or outstanding), generic chain-restaurant atmosphere, and service that could be all over the board depending on the people employed that week. Over the years I've had tons of stuff from the menu, and I can't say I ever recall really disliking the food. On the other hand, I also can't recall ever leaving there thinking my food was awesome. For instance, the chicken tenders are fine; exactly like chicken tenders you can get a million other places. The burgers are fine, just like a million other places. My point is this: nothing sets Applebee's apart from all the other chains to get me exited to go there. I don't think I'll have a terrible meal there, but I don't have any special incentive to go there over somewhere else. Take Chili's for example; it is essentially the same type of restaurant. However, they have a few of items that are great, and I look forward to having them again. (Bottomless Chips and Salsa, oh how I love thee!) Applebee's doesn't have that killer item for me. I'll tell you when Applebee's IS the perfect restaurant choice. When you're traveling and you need to stop along the highway for a bite, and you don't want to gamble on some local place about which you know nothing, Applebee's is your go-to place. You know the meal will probably be halfway decent, even if it's not actually exciting and memorable. Applebee's chief virtue is that it won't be terrible. read more
